  1. Yeah, it does seem the better of the 2. I wonder how it'd gel with arsenal or symphony control...
  2. How well do capes translate to 3D prints?
  3. I think part of the issue is that while pets may be visible and going through their summon animation, they technically "don't exist" insofar as they cannot be attacked nor be issued commands, but from the player's point of view, they are there. I know I've had my moments of frustration when I'm thinking "Could you get off your motorcycle already and attack, please!".
  4. Hmm... I checked the list of slash commands and could only find ones that addressed all pets, all pets summoned with a specific power, or only pets with specific names. None apply to ones you just summoned. Still, you could either go by the power you are specifically using or name each minion and address them accordingly. Not perfect, but it's something...
  5. If you use a bind to summon your pets where you click, and it includes a behavior command, will it work? I'm not at my gaming computer to test ATM...
  6. Can you give me an example of the kind of clarification you are looking for? For instance, let's say I create a copy of Captain America, but I reverse the red and blue parts, is that different enough? What if I call them "Cpl. America"? How about if I give them a hammer & shield instead of something using bare hands? It's a subjective judgment to make, and that's the entire point.
  7. Here's the issue - just as a thought experiment, could you propose a set of rules that couldn't be exploited or pushed to the breaking point?
  8. It's been a while since I rolled a support character. I'm heavily leaning toward dark miasma or affinity. I'm not sure what I'd pair with it in either regard. What are your opinions on these 2 sets? Thanks for reading!
  9. I know I'm kinda late to the game on this one, but my 2 inf is to start by, as gently as possible, suggest a different course of action as to how the team is operating, and should you get significant negative feedback, kindly excuse yourself from the team, (preferably sticking it out for the duration of the mission if at all possible).
  10. I liked (most of) RWBY. I kind of think the RWBY x Justice League 2-parter didn't quite hit the mark, though.
  11. The first time I did a TINPEX, we get to the (destroyed) police station, and I keep thinking to myself - "That giant coin/medallion looks really familiar...".
  12. Do you mean specifically for rage, or for all attacks in general? I mean some, like handclap or foot stomp, kind of need at least some FX...
  13. You got me - I did use the phrase "perfectly well". No, no one has to read a guide on how to level or equip gear. They have to read a guide on how to generate a lot of in-game wealth. What you don't like is the rate or frequency at which they get that "white gear" - they're 2 different things. My reference to real life was as an analogy on how wasting money on one thing IRL, which in turn means you don't have money for other things, is on that person to correct their behavior. It was others that started blowing it out of proportion then getting indignant at my offer to help.
  14. It is not about functioning "perfectly well" - It is about functioning "good enough". Then advocate for guides on how to educate new players, not steer them away from the resources already available. Ignoring aspects of the game is not helping them. That's rich coming from someone posting on a video game forum. Get off your high horse.
  15. No disagreement there. And there's systems in place to alleviate the early game. Don't get me wrong - I'm in no way saying CoH is perfect, but at the same time, we should be directing new players to the various guides on how to handle them. You wanna see convoluted messes - check out some of the so-called F2P MMOs or mobile games. Yeeesh! Well, it's not so much "playing without enhancements" - it's about player perception that not being fully slotted with max level enh's is somehow a punishment or renders them inadequate.
  16. Unlike other games, your character can function perfectly well, even without enh's. Even ignoring that, there are, in fact, many ways to fund and slot your character, even without a 50 to fund you. You cannot on one hand say that you are ignoring major functions of the game, while simultaneously advocating against using the AH or even AE. Yeah - we wouldn't want to actually help people, now would we?
  17. Game features/aspects have costs & benefits, and learning to manage them is every bit a part of the game as the costumes and powers.
  18. Maybe I should have been clearer. The phrase "blowing all your income" or something to the effect means you WASTED it, not spent out of necessity. Let me assure you - I highly doubt anyone playing CoH has to worry about making ends meet, and if you do, I'd gladly look over your books to see where cuts can be made. I also do not think it is too much to ask new players to either forego slotting each and every power at all times/levels and/or to read one of the many guides on how to generate wealth in-game.
  19. Yawn. If inf gain was increased but enh prices remain the same, are they more affordable or less? Yes or no? Also, "income equality" has nothing to do with "blowing all your income on clothes" - implicit in the phrasing is that you wasted the money, not that you bought out of necessity. Getting back to the game - no one "needs" to constantly edit costumes. I can certainly empathize with wanting just the perfect look for your character, but it all comes back to managing your resources.
  20. I wonder how difficult, or to what extent, the devs can simply run a script that says "If player A has powerset B, issue X free costume change tokens, where X is the number of active costume slots they have".
  21. My point is that one has to learn to manage their own resources. Like it or hate it, them's the breaks. It's not about politics, it's about managing what you have and getting the most from that. Good job disregarding my point about how the devs should compensate players if they broke something.
  22. Yeah that stinks. If only there were some sort of free costume change tokens or ways to otherwise alleviate the cost of changing one's costume. That being said, if the devs broke a thing, they should enact steps to make it up to players...
  23. And if you blow all your income on clothes IRL, whose fault is it when you can't buy food? No one is saying that people stop tinkering with their looks past level 10, but at some point it's on the individual player to manage their in-game resources, no?
  24. I'd also love to see the "flash-step" animation from Blaster's Martial Combat -> Burst of Speed, as an option.
  25. Were inf gains upped? Were SO prices raised or not? Since the supply is infinite, they'd be easier to afford. I have sympathy for new players who don't yet know the game's various systems and mechanics. That being said, they have access to resources that may not have been available when the game was live. It's not like they are hidden or anything. At some point, that naivete has to be grown out of and the player has to learn.
