  1. Incorrect. It only requires that they have a reasonable sense of how the game that they created/worked on operates. If you want to counter that, I'm gonna need some actual proof. My proof, for like the umpteenth time, is they could have adjusted the reward & enh cost rate many many times, but they didn't, so they must have been satisfied with them.
  2. I.E. you can't defend your position and so have to resort to ad homs.
  3. That only proves that they want you to know where to get enh's, not that you should be fully slotted at all times, from level 20 on. That's like saying you are supposed to take each and every power form your primary and secondary, because they provide them in the powersets, or because you can take 4 power pools means you should. Yeah... it's not like there are multiple guides on how to build wealth in-game or anything...
  4. And it doesn't mean they don't like it, either. The proof, as I already stated, is that they had many years to adjust the rewards or lower the prices to permit players to readily slot all their enh's, if that is what they wanted. They didn't therefore they didn't intend to do so. My position is based upon how the game is. You are positing something that has no basis in fact.
  5. Where's the proof? Demonstrate that the devs intend you to be fully slotted at levels 20+. You haven't...
  6. I never said the devs were infallible, so stop trying to position me like I did. What we do know is they had ample opportunity to adjust the inf/xp rates or TO/DO/SO costs, but never did. Evidence points to them being satisfied with said reward rates, which entails players not being able to fully slot their enhancements at all levels, full stop.
  7. You argued intent. I countered it. End of story. Now provide PROOF that players were intended to be fully slotted from levels 20+...
  8. Sure they are - we went from discussing intent to discussing how you can disable XP when you couldn't before and such. The the other poster mentioned intent, and that's what I addressed. Who said the OG devs were infallible? They set the inf/XP earn rates and the enh costs. If you want to argue that was a miscalculation, that's fine. My argument is they had multiple years to adjust it and didn't. instead, they added the invention system with enh's that never expired...
  9. Move the goal posts much? I never really dealt with the full morality paths, so I can't comment on those. I also don't disable XP, so I can't speak to that. Again, though, you are trying to change the topic. There are many ways to earn enough info to fully kit yourself out, if that's what you want. You just don't want to have to do any of them. That's fine, but don't then complain that your preferred method of inf generation isn't working out for you.
  10. My source is the inf granted by defeats/mission completions vs the cost of DOs/SOs, as set by the OG devs. If they wanted you to be fully slotted at all times, (at least 20+), then they would have adjusted their costs or the rewards accordingly. Obviously they didn't do that, so their intent was that one NOT be fully slotted...
  11. I'm gonna need to see a source for that claim. Clearly the OG devs had some calculation of what your typical 20+ character would earn, inf-wase, and priced DOs/SOs accordingly...
  12. How dare you compare him to some 3rd-rate super-soldier program reject!!!
  13. Maybe... maybe if they retained some benefit, even when they turned red, they'd be worthwhile at their regular cost. Lowering their price just makes them even more disposable, which, IMHO, isn't a good behavior to foster. As I've stated before, though, I think the notion that one ought to or should be fully slotted at all levels is also a misconception that should be abandoned.
  14. Why exclude the AH, though? It's every bit a part of the game as any other. Frankly, buying DOs/SOs is a trap - it's a temporary buff at best, and a huge waste of inf at worst. Maybe a better solution, to alleviate this, would be to give DOs and SOs a sort of "floor", where even if they were way below your level, they'd still provide some buff to the power they're slotted in...
  15. Maybe I've been playing too long, but with the ability to see how your core powers animate in the tailor, I can get a fairly accurate picture of how the character will play. The hard part is when I want to create a support character, as some powers, (like how you mentioned 'enforced morale'), don't have quite the obvious and immediate impact...
  16. I created a sun-themed rad/rad sentinel on Torchbearer, wanted something short and concise, and was surprised that "Bask" wasn't taken...
  17. The original image from which my forum avatar is derived is my namesake character with rest activated, back from i0/beta, where I, too, did not know how to rotate the camera, but activating rest locked your character's facing, so I could rotate around them that way...
  18. Gotcha. I think a "no fade" option would be the best option, accessible from within the tailor...
  19. From what I've gathered, Null only applies things on a per-power basis, (with the exception of the travel power popup tray, which is a singular entity unto itself), and the devs are loathe to add more to it...
  20. Alt+tab or Win+D is just as quick, and once you have the wiki open you can just leave it there, ready to be accessed again as needed. No need to divert developer resources at all.
  21. CoH is lightweight enough that you can Win+D or alt+tab to an open Wiki window. I would rather the game NOT link to external resources, especially since, AFAIK, the Wiki is NOT maintained by the HC devs. If a player can be bothered to learn a slash command, they can be bothered to click the link to the Wiki and/or bookmark it.
  22. I certainly respect your zeal for and value you place on your characters - you won't get any disagreement from me in that regard. That being said, asking someone to log into them once every 90-180 days to retain their name isn't, IMHO, too much to ask, especially since, (again IMO), for every one of you, there's probably many more that simply PL or otherwise got to 50, then for all intents and purposes, abandoned said characters. Personally, I use thesaurus.com, rhymezone.com, or other such resources to avoid the situation entirely, but others may want something more straightforward, so some sort of middle-ground, where characters that aren't actively being played, (including 50s), should be subject to having their names freed up...
  23. Yeah... maybe we need a hard 3-6 month limit on unplayed characters' names being freed up, regardless of level...
  24. One thing that really gets under my skin is when a team leader invites you to their team then decides to run YOUR missions without asking...
  25. I would rather we be able to have a 2nd or 3rd special character.
