  1. Nothing to add to the topic at the moment but a question - doesn't Elude get diminishing returned hard in PvP? For Tankers, Brutes, and Scrappers.
  2. I like that idea, having heavy hitters designated ahead of time to finish off the last slivers of health. You could be on to something!
  3. I do what now? I said in my post that I couldn't care any less about your opinion or anyone else's opinion on the three documents pertaining to playing this game. You're not a member of the Homecoming team. I did not say 'I don't care.' Is that difference confusing to you? Better yet, how about you take a couple of steps back from the keyboard command center and chill. I've not stated in any of my posts in this thread that I'm for or against the OPs suggestion. I posted the section of the content guidelines pertaining to gambling and responded to your odd ramblings. Let's get back on topic.
  4. I couldn't care any less what you or anyone's opinion about what they think the Terms of Service, Code of Conduct, or Privacy Policy should or shouldn't say. It says what it says. Unless someone from the volunteer Homecoming staff says it has changed, players will still need to agree to it or they don't play.
  5. Gambling is legally restricted, in some capacity or another in the United States, unless the state authorizes special regulatory entities to enforce or restrict different types of gaming at (usually) the local government or tribal level. Wikipedia says it best... Gambling in the United States. One huge caveat is online gambling - the Federal Wire Act of 1961 outlawed interstate wagering on sports, but it hasn't been modified to address the modern conveniences of the internet or virtual reality. The 'Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006' also didn't explicitly outlaw online gambling, however, it did outlaw financial transactions involving online gambling service providers. All of this is moot though, as the Code of Conduct is one of the three explicit documents (ToS, CoC, Privacy Policy) which players MUST agree to if they want to log in and play. These are the 'rules of the house' aka the Homecoming servers.
  6. I vaguely remember a higher tray count on live, perhaps in the very early days.... I definitely had ten trays for enhancements when I ran my own private server. Didn't do anything special to enable that, just came that way from the i-24 game file on OuroDev. As to why it isn't that way here, well I don't know.
  7. I usually right-click any powers tray on the number and it gives me the two options to lock powers and lock trays.
  8. It's not my logic, it's the Code of Conduct that all players agree to when they log in to the game.
  9. Content Guidelines The following is considered prohibited content: Anything illegal in the real world: This includes anything related to gambling, child pornography, terrorism, illegal controlled substances, and any real world criminal activity (yes, we know City of Villains exists)
  10. Hmm, relabeling the spawn and despawn of the event to just the giant monsters? I guess I never noticed the issue, in fact, I usually find the two GMs chilling in one of their multiple spawn points, defeat them, and call it a day. Maybe tying in completion of the TF to spawning the event (in addition to the other thing it spawns, zombies I think?)
  11. Though the relation to publicity and anonymity on the internet varies to the extreme, this made me laugh.
  12. It's a cool concept to weave in to a player's character design. Instead of looking at it as an in game currency, it's more of an amount of renown that correlates to a set minimum and maximum amount.
  13. For those who don't purview the HC Discord, added background on the topic below (see middle of image I believe):
  14. It comes up as a suggestion every few months it seems, more so recently with the change in stance on streaming by the HC volunteers:
  15. What you said about the "Don't-Wannas" is a fair assumption, that I agree with - but I am of the opinion it should be applied equally to everyone. I may have derailed this thread enough with discussion outside what is currently written in the ToS, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct. I will continue to say this, however - folks who choose to login have to know what those agreements say because they are asked to consent to those terms every time they log in. They aren't agreeing or disagreeing with my opinions or other players opinions, or having philosophical discussion on content generation and privacy in an interconnected world. I think it is moot to say it is one way is more right over the other, but that it probably due to the nature of internet forums. Here's to hoping everyone is excellent to each other!
  16. The same logic could be applied to the players who don't wish to be viewed or record while in a public place. I sure wouldn't like it if I was trying to take a picture in front of Mt. Rushmore and somebody who doesn't want to be recorded or photographed kept jumping in my frame.
  17. This sounds like a nice gesture. I am curious if the opposite approach could be undertaken as well - perhaps individuals could self-identify as not willing to be viewed or recorded in a public place where that expectation doesn't exist, but instead of having a RP-like labeled above their name, they could have a different label that reflects their personal beliefs. Of course, getting in to the labelling game is a can of worms. And for all I know, there could be a handful of people who would use such a label - just as there could be a handful of streamers who would be interested in using what you're suggesting.
  18. I would say that falls under the Discord platform's Terms of Service then, but I'm not familiar enough with the platform to say that with any certainty.
  19. That's a muddy cup of tea as I understand it. It certainly lacks clarity, that much we can agree on.
  20. @VileTerror Yeah, that's not up for me to decide or not. These are the rules everybody agrees to when they log in to the game. If they don't agree to them, they are not able to play. My opinion on the matter of "content" or "user generated" is just as moot as anyone else's opinion. I don't own the IP, and I don't believe you or anyone else here does either. Thanks for the response though.
  21. Are you typing that question rhetorically? On the edit, if you could demonstrate how you exist in a digital world and are able to override the sequences and commands of the game's code, I'd say you should probably share this feat of discovery with the world. A real world Neo in the Matrix. That would certainly set off a great deal of metaphysical discussion to say the least. If you're saying that a person playing a game in some how public guarantees any expectation of privacy, I'd say that is not accurate in the real world.
  22. You don't own anything in this game. So when you say 'my this' or 'my that' it's irrelevant. Everything is property of the respective copyright holder, which is Paragon Studios, Cryptic, and NcSoft. Their names may have changed since 2012, but that's what is described in the HC ToS.
