  1. Oooh, I appreciate the added context @Greycat. Croatoa, for me at least, is a bit of an off-shoot from the main storyline. There isn't a lot that ties in to the rest of the game here, yet it is an entire zone with its own unique enemies, badges, contacts, and task force.
  2. I think it is a nice metric to have. I don't support this suggestion.
  3. Younger generation be like "Yo how'd you get your microwave to play video games" 😆
  4. Absolutely agree with this aside. This is why I @'ed you! Sometimes story arcs in game aren't even in the traditional canon - looking at Pocket D mostly, but the stories still exist in the Co* universe.
  5. !!! That's super helpful. I did the Abandoned Sewer Trial and got the Charmer badge, but that was the extent of my background knowledge of the faction. Thank you!
  6. This can be alleviated in two ways; create the character you want to use on the live servers and just transfer over whenever there is a wipe -or- create a build Mids to upload, save a costume and setup for a character and then create them and autolevel/add all the IOs/etc once you log in on Brainstorm using the cool build importer:
  7. What I have read from that post is that it comes down to interacting with other players. I think I play on the opposite side of the spectrum. I don't run a lot of trials or end game content in teams. I just participated in a Hamidon raid earlier today that was really well organized and I had only enough time to play for one iteration of the raid instead multiple. I built a character to solo content so that if I don't have time to play, I'm not short changing any potential team mates. It lets me roll through content at my own pace, sometimes I read the clues and mission dialog, other times I am grinding away at Issue 1 content that hasn't seen any new polish. At the end of the day, I get out of the game what I enjoy about it. It's relaxing and satisfying as my hobby. That's enough for me, perhaps identifying areas of the game that you enjoy that don't require other players would help alleviate the problems you described. Or at least placate some instances occurring too frequently.
  8. It was my assumption that the novels, which I enjoyed a great deal, were not canon - am I mistaken on this? Or perhaps retconned later?
  9. I like them the way they are. I'm going to vote no on this suggestion.
  10. Is the topic title being asked rhetorically? It seems like this was a vent post, did you intend to have further discussion beyond what you said in the OP?
  11. Folks, I'd like to know more about the game and share various spoilers that exist after playing through the content of this great game in order to better understand its story and lore. I am looking to contain this discussion to anything found in game - if it's in the Lore AMAs, I don't consider it canon. It should go without saying, but it is highly likely that this thread will contain spoilers, so please use the spoiler button when discussing something other players may not have finished yet. That being said I have a few bullet points, but I would like your help adding others. If you have an interest and provide some spoilers, I will update this post and credit it to the original poster: After completing the Rikti War Zone story arcs and the final task force from Lady Grey, I understand the following: Croatoa is a magical destination. I played through all of the content, but I couldn't tell you what the zone or story was about besides the Sleepy Hollow vibe. The Ouroboros is pretty thick with story, but I haven't honestly dug too deep in to it. I know that... The Shivans are... The Faultline zone story arcs and background (Credit to @GastlyGibus again!) Kheldian Lore: The comics and literature contain canon themselves: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but my hope is to develop a good picture of the overall game story (laughs out loud). I know I could just as easily browse the Homecoming Wiki (which is an awesome resource!) but it would be quite a lot of reading I imagine. Anyways, I will make note of the greater discussion that has come before me in other sections of this forum. For others interested in this topic who have posted in other places, many thanks - posters like @VileTerror, @Darmian, @Latex and many many others. Here is what I could dig up on such discussion on the forums:
  12. I did a search of this thread before posting this - Ouroboros Story Arc: Void Sanction (Vigilante Alignment). Initial mission dialog box, last paragraph, last sentence: "We need someone who is willing to go the extra effort to see a job is done right, you know what I mean?" The turn of phrase is "go the extra mile." Further mission dialog after accepting to the above; "My team is called 'Void Sanction', and you can simply call me 'The Major'. This should read "My team is called 'Void Sanction,' and you can simply call me 'The Major.' [Note the single quotation marks contain the comma and the period.] Additionally, same dialog box; "Hero Corp" should read "Hero Corps" [Note the added "s"]. And "codeword" is two words, "code word" is the correct usage. There are two periods at the end of the bike messenger portion, one is colored gold, while the other is colored white. I recommend using three periods total and making them all gold to match the sentence highlight. Same thing for code word on the next mission dialog box: Again, "Hero Corp," instead of "Hero Corps" later in the mission dialog box at the end of the story arc: Last one: Upon completion of the story arc, the souvenir uses 'Hero Corp,' instead of 'Hero Corps'
  13. Apologies, you will also need to click the 'Experimental Graphics Settings" Enabled to see the option:
  14. Cell shading you mean? That feature can be accessed in the Options>Graphics section. It's a bit more GPU intensive, but looks awesome in game.
  15. Try running CoH in windowed mode. I had a similar issue while trying to record b-roll a couple months back.
  16. Oh this works well! The Mace/Shield idea, with a costume that highlights the shield logo being a 🔔. Good thinking @ZorkNemesis
  17. I'd wager that your question is directed at folks in the know, more than likely members of the Homecoming team? If that isn't the case, I will gladly indulge in speculation.
  18. You can have access to what you seek and more.... ... on the Brainstorm shard!
  19. You can try logging out and back in to reset the mission. I did this a few weeks ago without running in to the issue you've described.
  20. I ended up going the route of multiple accounts to frame this shot:
  21. That is funny how you describe the folklore costume contest - in your eyes, the costume contest wasn't good enough and didn't meet your standards.... .... and in the eyes of the folklore costume contest judges, your costume wasn't good enough and didn't meet their standards. 🙊🙉🙈
  22. Oldie, but an amazing one!
