  1. The distinction exists because they were all the same until the devs generously blessed 90% of your toggles with a massive buff. Toggles dropping adds difficulty to the game as it puts a time constraint on how quickly you can get back to 100% in the middle of the action. We don’t need to continue stripping this game of every last annoyance or inconvenience, so no thanks from me. I do agree Kheldians need suppression because they have a motivation to initiate a toggle-dropping power themselves. But for every other AT, it’s just asking for one more tiny problem to be bulldozed out of your way in a game that’s already gotten 10x easier.
  2. No thanks. I have the same problem. About 10% of my characters stuck on a quiet server because I choose to keep their names. But I don’t support seizing other players’ stuff, so my problem is what it is. Tough.
  3. Comparing something you have to monitor every 30-60 seconds to something you have to re-up every 8 hours is kiiinda sorta apples and oranges, lol.

Unless you build around them, which I try not to do very often at all, but.. knowing you can treat 40% defense as the new softcap if you commit to an amp build, can open up other opportunities in your build, to say nothing of the other 8 effects’ implications.. Planning around the +tohit could mean no/less accuracy required in your proc bombs, etc. All sorts of ways it makes you a little more OP.
  5. The only power creep around this issue is the fact that amplifiers exist at all, or that they exist at such chump change prices as 2.5M..

  9. Would it be possible to make Amplifiers something you can outlevel? That way normies and muggles can justifiably have them cheap on lowbies, but you can’t buy 8 hours worth at level 1 and wind up using 6 of those hours at 50 if you didn’t take the scenic route. Thinking it would be too harsh for them to drop after 1 level, but maybe every multiple of 5 levels you outlevel their usefulness? Just spitballin

  13. When you have SJ but not Fly and you pop it on with Double Jump to pull the ITF towers down onto your team ofc! 🙂
  14. Fire/Kinetics took over at the height of the Burn nerfs and thus could only wane a bit when Burn got better again
  15. My Bots doesn’t do any KB and it was not difficult to get there. I don’t believe you need KB to KD on all three pets. But if you did that would be easily addressed too. For instance the Drones only have a single target KB, and no significant reasonable player population has any problem with that. You can do all this with damage values still hitting ED cap. You claim it hurts your damage but this is incorrect with proper slotting. It sounds like you’re struggling with pet slotting. Maybe swing by the MM sub for IO tips. Still disagree any MM’s can scatter half as badly as Storm, which typically has 2 Tornadoes and 3 Lightning Storms out all the time with a decent build. And a buttload of that old i0 fear. EDIT: looking back through the pet powers and seeing barely anything bad. Where the heck is the problem here again? Is it another set that’s worse than Bots/Necro/Demons? I have played those and verified the KB is hardly uniquely problematic for them.

I was surprised to see Bill appear to rank Fiery Melee under Kinetic Melee, but I understand from some people on the forum that supposedly it’s a little better if you make your chain just from Tier 1-3. My Stone/Kin/Earth tanker uses a lot of procs in the slower moves, so decent raw damage values but DPA not so much. Will be reevaluating its build (already Graniteless!) once all the buffs come out. KM animations with some custom color are pretty dang cool to look at though.
  17. I have def done one of Voltak’s AE missions on one of his teams once. Or I think it was his and not 801. Was somethin else. There were a buttload of Controller pets and some Ninjas being spawned by all the baddies, for one thing. In a warehouse. Sound right? I recall I came on a Time, we got rekt, then me and the other Time switched to Elec Affinities and we won 🙂
  18. I’d lean Blaster here. You need those Blaster numbers to make a set like AR really fun, IMO. And with its long animations, I could see it having slightly more difficulty competing with Trick Arrow’s clickiness too perhaps. My AR/Dev is all blasting all the time whereas my Traps/AR primarily just trows Sniper/Dominate/Full Auto between Traps clicking. Just depends how much you want to pew. But Trick Arrow is a super awesome set now, both will be fine 🙂

  20. I think it’s plenty workable. I agree about leaning into blapping. You could hop in and out if you need to to survive, but no major reason you have to. Remember there’s a difference between “likes to be at range” and “doesn’t work well without range”. The only power in the latter category here is Cutting Beam. Which is pretty weak and poor with procs anyway. You’re still getting fantastic S/T DPS with Beam in melee, and at least in melee you’ve got Psychic Shockwave shoring up Beam’s poor AoE. Also fun fact, you’ve successfully paired the most -regen you can possibly get on a Blaster. Between Drain Psyche and Disintegrate, you’re beginning to compete with things like Heat Exhaustion or Benumb. The pylon time oughta look pretty good. I have multiple builds on my Beam/Time and one has Future Pain / End of Time. It doesn’t feel wrong.
  21. Martial Doms can already make a full attack chain with Shurikens. A single handgun would make a pretty boring complete powerset. What would it really include besides what Executioner’s Shot already looks like.

  24. I would’ve said my Traps/AR defender months ago but I find myself becoming too fond of it. Traps is too freakin good when you *do* get to leverage its stationary nature in bigger fights. AV’s, pylons, BAF chokes, big ITF herds missions 3/4, etc etc. And between Traps procs and Dominate damage I try not to stress a lot about how bad AR is. Making me want to update my Grav/Traps.
