You just deleted the surrounding context that acknowledges the issues with that statement. Bit obvious don’t you think. I know it’s fun to dunk on people but let’s not be too blatantly deceptive.

FYI, I was legit interested in your toon but your video doesn’t show much very clearly. I cannot tell that you are soloing or that what your powers are at a glance. What is that, Bots I think cuz I see a burn patch? Do I see Elec Affinity? I thought I saw two Longbow bosses hence the question about soloing.

Speaks for an awful lot of people tho. You seem to want a pure sandbox more than a game with any semblance of obstacles, etc. (I know, we’ve already bulldozed most of them anyway). Have you considered playing on Brainstorm or Cake or whatever? In 2004-2005, my first 50’s took me hundreds of hours. Now they take 2 hours. Imagine thinking it hasn’t gotten easy enough.

How is any of what you just wrote different from Nova? It’s the same, no? You’d have to position the AoE somewhere besides the middle of a mob to feel like you’re using the KB tactically? But you’d be happier if you just slotted KB->KD in both. I got no qualms with Nova. Unless this is secretly still about the LocAoE. But then, I got no qualms with Blizzard. I think you’re fighting this way too hard. Either deal with the tactical issues of KB or pop Overwhelming Force in there and enjoy your awesome nuke. I did and I freakin love this set..

You mention soft cap, so you’re already outside of the realm of thinking about viability and more in the realm of meta min-maxing. Medicine is viable yes. It is not the min-maxer’s friend, no. But it’s literally impossible for all powers to be the min-maxer’s friend by definition. That viewpoint inherently has to relegate some fraction of a game’s stuff to the trash heap, because that’s what min-maxers are. I’m a viability type player, because trying all the pretty powers has inherent value to me. Min-maxing seems boring AF.

The only thing Field Medic does to Aid Self is give it a +end effect. So not sure why you say you ‘need’ it for it to work at all.

I use Excel, yeah. Just can’t use Mids. Takes longer to pull the raw data I need off CoD but my system works.

Fair enough. So the heal is basically instant, but sure, slows down your chain. And ofc it is always slotted with 1-2 interrupt IO’s.

I’m extremely skeptical that’s correct... at the very least the heal kicks in way quicker than that. Anywho, you don’t have to only cast it right in the middle of combat. Run around the corner when you have a heal or endurance emergency. The game is much more tactical than just standing in melee executing a chain, if you try to play it that way. Either way, in game performance has not been bad. If you don’t need the heal enough to take it as is, and don’t see yourself executing any maneuvers more tactical than sitting in melee, then where’s the problem?

It’s possible to have an opinion on the value of a game design decision without having a personal stake in the matter beyond just wanting to play a well designed game. The “Don’t like it? Don’t partake” argument is illogical/nonsensical.

Aid Self is absolutely no slouch, *especially* with Field Medic taken too.

Dunno if CoH could keep the T rating with all the Master Roshis we’d see pop up on Everlasting, tho

It wasn’t obvious to me that Meteor isn’t affected by damage buffs, this is verified and confirmed? Blizzard is affected by damage buffs, but it’s verified Meteor is not?? Not worried about the other things, LocAoE is a thing and not inherently bad. Skip it if you want but that sounds highly ill advised to me and contradicts my very positive experience in game.

Nothing is presently disallowing you or anyone else from picking those pools.

You’re an anomaly then. We can’t base the discussion on only you getting instant 50’s. If they are accessible as 20 million, tons of players would easily have several 50’s a day. This is ofc all moot to me because I think it’s a dumb idea in general.

If everyone suddenly had demand for 5 new 50’s worth of IO’s and generated no new influence in the process, everyone would notice, via the market.
