Malware extension? Is it a .mal file?

In the city where I work, there are countless little concrete markers with brass plaques that greatly resemble those in CoH. Every time I pass one, I have to fight the urge to pull over and click on it. Even when the game was dead!

What are you going to pair with Storm Blast when it goes live?
DoctorDitko replied to biostem's topic in General Discussion
I'm a fan of Storm Defenders, usually paired with Ice or Water up till now. Looking forward to trying a pure Storm defender! -
Homecoming player count: a year in review

Being picky: Mercury goes into retrograde (appearing to reverse direction in the sky), not tardigrade (Adorable microscopic waterbear critters than can survive in space). It won't fit in a tardigrade. I know I'm being "pendantic" (cf SGU*) but it itches! * Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. World's greatest podcast: theskepticsguide.org -
Wow. Talk about your attention to detail: Now THAT's dedication!

Wait, we have Sontarans, Daleks, and Fendahl in this game? Where?

Patch notes, or it didn't happen!

What do you consider the "Gold Standard" for TFs/SFs?

SBB, no question! Good rewards and you get to make Hollywood jokes! -
Are we likely to see taunt get fixed in the near future?

That's right! I always forget the best auto-hit AOE Disorient and debuff in the game also rezzes your buddies! -
I blew $50 on an non-lcd (but backlit) 5x5 keypad from AliExpress. It uses the QMK system for setup, which is open-source, but it's complicated enough that I keep putting off learning it. Cheap alternative, though. You can print on acetate and slip labels under the keycaps. A pain, though, and yours is very nice! Back on Live, I used a $5 laptop-style USB numpad, with stickers on the buttons, but it appears Win10 conflates all numpads, so I needed something different.

For that matter, didn't Intel actually remove OpenGL support a few years back?

Civics lesson badge unlocked! (My city claims to have been founded in 1737, which is laughably young compared to almost any city in Europe. Betcha anything they'll throw a hell of a hootenanny in 2037, though.) I agree we should absolutely do something fun for Paragon's 200th!

I found a build in game even stranger than my own

"And why the fancy red suit, Mr. Pool?" "Oh, that's because it's Christmas Day, Dopinder..." Sorry, couldn't sleep until I posted this. (Could be worse; I'm also a Dr. Who fan, and you don't want to see the nested citations in those threads!) -
Thanks, all! I was mainly concerned that power #1 proccing would prevent power #2 from going off. It look like it won't, but also won't stack, which works for me. Again, many thanks for the edumication. Some day, I'll figure out this ~18-year-old game. (That I've been playing for ~10 of those years!)

Paintable MM robots! But, more seriously, the ability to see what sets will slot into a power in the slot screen!

I had no idea such a thing existed! It has a channel that plays old Doctor Who (1st-7th Doctor) episodes 24/7. It skips all the incomplete stories (no recons, telesnaps, or animated episodes*) but is still pretty amazing fun for no money! Unlike Shout, it is dealer's choice, not on demand, but still wonderful background entertainment. It has ads -- usually for other Pluto channels -- but not egregious amounts. They're just a bit strange in the timing. (I suspect an AI inserts the breaks.) It's rather like PBS in the good old days, without the fundraising guilt marathons. Other channels run Mission:Impossible, Addams Family, Twilight Zone, and Bob Ross. Anyway, my friends have been keeping this a secret, so I thought I'd share. Edited to add: * And yet here I am, partway through Shada, a partially animated story!

To a slow, old, ex-sorcerer? Playing a Rad/Rad Sentinel, and enjoying it more than I expected, but it seems as though I can slot just about every power with one of these suckers. Is that at all wise? The description says it will trigger roughly 3.5 times per minute. Is that per power, per proc, or something else? Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I've been searching this forum, the wiki, and the Internet at large and coming up empty.

The only thing that I hate more than Mids is respeccing. Like resource management sims, that stuff is too much like real life! (NB: I would very much love a way to move a slot or two without a full respec!) And I make liberal use of the unslotting salvage items. But for me, respeccing is admitting I chose... poorly. So, yeah, concept is king. I pick powers by feel. Yeah, this feels right for this character. That said, I can't resist a beautiful shiny like the Panacea, Performance Shifter, or Numina specials. Specials are queen? So, I guess I blunder along, making choices as I go, informed by experience and the advice of others, but not limited by it. Just like real life, I guess. (Inconsistent/Hypocrite badge for the Doc, woot!)

Completing Every Single Contact Blueside
DoctorDitko replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
At least get the P2W travel powers, QoL thing. And the freebie proccing enhancements are very nice at lower levels. But go hardcore if you like! And, Welcome Home! -
Not all Tank sets get a Foot Stomp. If it is in concept, but not available to the set, Mighty Leap makes for a handy workaround. Does seem a tad underwhelming, though. (There's a mod to make it at least sound Mighty.)

+1 for the annoying submarine ping mod. It's responsible for my newfound ability to find the damn things. Downside is, I tend to rudely grab glowies even on other people's missions, just to stop the damn pings! Also, and apropos the differently-hearing discussion, is there some reason glowies don't... glow?
