  1. Yeah, I have a TW/Elec brute with near capped fire resist with soft cap fire defense and about 3 Force Feed back +Recharge; 2 cones and an PBAoE + damage aura. He isn't very good, no problem smashing minions/lts but once you get to Boss/EB its just punching hit point bags; takes to long. Have to run +2/8, with only 2 single targets those hit point sacks at boss level are boring. energy farms can be done with smash defense at soft cap, you have to find Energy Blast/Melee not Electric Blast/Melee on the NPC. With grounded and some +KB protection bonuses, reach 25 KB prot which the Electric armor can shrug off while Smash defense is used for defense checks. Electric attacks, -endurance or -recover can hurt even sets with protection. have a Mace/Electric with 80ish S/L resist, soft cap S/L defense, and perma hasten but mace animates so slow its just not worth it to farm with unless I want to beat something down. Being that this is a PVE build, he can do S/L/E farms; 9 KB protection + Grounded KB protection. Can do any content no problem, except when it comes to -regen. Looking at a SM/Electric brute built like the Mace/Electric. 75% resist S/L, 90% energy, same KB protection. perma hasten, melee PBAoE attack and damage aura, Teleport PBAoE, Electric Epic with 2 AoE, and unlike the Mace the Savage melee generally animates faster so the single target will work better on the bosses. Slotted 3 -resist procs, gives some utility to bump up damage for a few seconds. Will be able to farm and do content on the same build; not as great as a fire armor brute, but its pretty versatile with a HP regen, -endurance cost in both SM and Electric armor, as well as an Endurance drain power, built in haste with SM. Electric armor is kind of like a weak Inv/Regen combo, energize adds a 30ish hp regen thats almost perma which just needs to be clicked to keep health up; RNGesus may decide to hate you with a tohit check against high damage or you end up facing the CoT which just neuter regen component.
  2. 3 damage auras, including Burn, blazing aura, and if they are primary Rad or Spines melee. Fire resist is easy to cap, lots of fire def in winters or other sets where you don't need to invest up to 5/6 slots. Fire Embrace, adds +fire dog and a fire proc
  3. My old rig My current rig
  4. just going to tl;dr my opinon - Ice Armor on Scrapper/Stalker. Icy Bastion is 5 min recharge, 30 sec duration. Use it as a basis for the other T9, adjust for 60 duration and longer if need be. Some of the crashes are because the duration is like 3 mins long, so you go from Wimpy "Burger next Tuesday" to "Popeye the Sailor" for 60 seconds and could be Brutus after it wears off during a fight.
  5. Siphon Life - You got Healing Flames which is better and as a farmer won't need that much anyway, unless you run trash farm "challenges" that load up with high smashing/lethal split with fire attacks. Firesword is no problem, Greater Fire Sword/Fire Sword circle to much damage when every mob use them. Dark Consumption or Consume - Pick one, you have 2 powers that are +END straight to the blue bar and only need 1. Eventually after you incarnate, you mostly use it as an extra AoE or mule. And see if you can fit Touch of Fear, can proc it out though I don't know how good it is. Haven't found a build I like trying.
  6. Naw, I mean the type that had no idea how they wanted the game at release. It's like a chef sending out a a burger, I pay for it, and the chef decides to take back the beef than substitute a vegan burger. If a game has to revamp its combat or crafting process in the first 3 months from release and I was paying a subscription, the game is a paid beta test. Happened a few times to me, including "suddenly" going to F2P like SWOTR.
  7. Burn, never have much issues with EB. Just target them and punch them to wear down the hit points, burn dies half the work while it gets minions in the process.
  8. I have stopped playing some games when they pull this shit like I4 and ED. It's not the nerfing complaint, I don't pay a monthly sub to beta test function and game play than they completely overhaul the mechanics. I don't care if the game was out and I join after, but a complete revamp while I was paying since release and its been a few months, I leave. I left CoH for a year after I4, always liked the COH but I don't waste money on unfinished games. Same with Vanguard, SWOTR, and a couple of others. Only came back to COH because it was fun.
  9. Gravity Control > Singularity Singularity will now slowly pull enemies towards it, allowing it to make much greater use of the Repel effect While the old effect counteracts the new effect. Just because the mechanic exists, doesn't mean its ever going to be used by itself. Itself isn't even that useful on the pet, its more like flavor text and effect to justify the repel which is 6 magnitude. Gravity really needs a single power, pulls the target in....then punches it back out. Like Ki Push for the blaster secondary, but twice as much ragdoll effect!
  10. If you are in a group, most minions will be dead by the time the animation is done and the DoT damage is over 10 seconds; you team will kill most bosses in 6-8 seconds. Its radius is 8, your buddy groupmates will toss out an AoE Immobilize and holds have a radius of 30; basically you cast and minions are dead the boss starts to turn crispy then a team mate throws out immobilize outside the radius; even an AV with triangles down can't take damage if its 8.1 radius outside the burn. AV fights are where Burn would shine, but triangles up/down and team mates can cause havoc. If you are solo; you got all the time in the world. Nothing to interfere with using Burn unless you got Significant Other aggro or your computer crashes. tl;dr - outside a farm or solo, Burn is less then useful If you want 4 minutes of immobilize protection which is in Burn (kind of like Super Reflex click mez), that's useful but easily replaceable with CJ. And you picked Radiation/Fire, which is the premier farming combo. I assumed you wanted to use it for other purposes, since you can use an alternate build, and didn't want to roll something else. You have 999 other character slots, you can always stomp through content with a different primary/secondary. I got a Mace/Electric with 45% smashing/lethal defense avoiding most attacks and about 80% S/L/F/C 90% energy resists to shrug off what gets through; 9 KB protection on top of what grounded gives (another 15, the 9 is if tagged in mid air) and its heal click is a 30 regen with half hit point recovery and endurance reduction on top of it. Probably 75% of content at 50 is easily to tank (high end stuff, kind of squish after debuffs hit), but his damage sucks unless hit with Fulcrum Shift to cap it (animations are slow as well) and the only weakness is -def or -regen (CoT mages in PI radio just floor it). The biggest bonus though, the guy can do S/L/ENG farms and PVE on the same build; the farms have to run at +2 cause after the minions are dead at +4 you end up fighting like 9 bosses/EB at the same time; lots of HP to chew through and its boring (+4 is doable, just really slow). Note: My Mace/Electric has to pick and choose Energy farm; the good ones have Energy Blast/Melee only as you can avoid the SM component, resist the energy and smashing, while shrugging off the KB. The piss farms has electric melee / blast which just drain endurance. This guy would of been better off as a tank. The /Electric armor slotting can be swapped with something else like Martial Arts or Savage Melee for normal content and would be more enjoyable.
  11. Fizz, if your on Excelsior I got some time today. If you see Deadbloke in atlas AE, I don't mind helping you level.
  12. An alt of mine and a friend's, we call the dolts. Stupid lazy slackers, more comic book and anime nerds. My friend's alt has 7 PHds, is a fashion designer, and solve lots of complicated problems. My alt, dumb as shit and has a Bachelors degree in art...they give those away. One accidently created the universe by exploding all the matter after compressing it to the size of a marble in the past, the other gains their power from the death of the universe in the future...aka very powerful; but with great power comes a great stupidity for these two. Both are pretty much useless in ordinary day lives working retail jobs; but unknown to them are stupidly rich by owning the worlds biggest corporation they started by buying $.00001 priced stock with a $10 gift card, which is somehow run by a pair of cats called CC and BC (cats with devine power, Ceiling Cat and Basement Cat). These two have a sense of justice that results in thugs who physically assault a woman being insta killed vs villain's on the scale of Galactus/Apocalypse/Thanatos/Darkseid geting their ass beat with a sock full of quarters for preventing them from watching their favorite shows everytime they invade the planet. Aka, they are just jokes that are stupidly powerful and useless citizens who have good heart. Anger quickly and over react with vindictive force when someone is in trouble, but deal comedic justice with a daily can of ass whupping when galactic level threats impinge on their daily life and they can't watch TV.
  13. Depends on the build, you can 4 slot Boxing or Brawl to get +3.75 smashing/lethal. Maneuvers/Weave default is 6.38 Maneuvers/Weave slotted 3 each with LoTG, 9.83%. 4 slots, 6 total with the 2 powers. effectively you spent extra 4 slots in 2 powers to get an additional 3.5% defense. Brawl or Boxing by itself with 3 extra slots, 3.75 (slotting just 1 of the 2) Maneuvers/Weave default is 6.38, 1 LotG 7.5% recharge each = 7.39% Brawl 3.75 + Maneuvers/Weave 7.39 = 11.14%. 11.14 - 9.83 = 1.31% more defense. Effectively, you spend 3 powers for that 1.31% with 1 being a freebie power choice you are already stuck with. You have 1 spare enhancement slot all together. This is only for smashing/lethal, its just how you build and where you can push that extra slot to get a little more power out of the character.
  14. You got garbage slotting all over, lots of useless procs preventing you from getting full set bonus. Damage procs don't help that much if you are suffering the basics in +Def and Recharge. Personally I am not a fan of SS/Fire, tried it but Rage crash killed the fun factor. SS/Fire/Mu, gives 2 AoE fitted with a -resist proc. 3 -resist, including the one in burn, and you got some utility. If you were adamant about Fire epic, just remove it and try to reach 45% defense using Winter set Frozen Blast followed by how much recharge you desired. And +5 boost Hasten/Rage/Firey Embrace, reduce their recharge even more.
  15. Ditch the Kismet +6 acc in Cloak of darkness, free up one slot. Take one of the resist slots in both Murky Cloud and Obsidian shield. With those 3 slots, move them to brawl. Slot 3 + Brawl base = 4 slot Kinetic combat; +3.75 smash/defense which you are losing from the armor toggles. Now change Murky Cloud and Obsidian Shield to gladiators armor; pick up +6 KB protection.
  16. Yup, that would be it. Pretty sure I didn't click it, but problem solved.
  17. the Dark Astoria arc mission where you go into Mot. You think you walk into the bowels of hell, but you are really closer to its asshole.
  18. Naw, just asking if anyone else is experiencing it. Cause the one build I left open was almost done, 45% defense. Came back, didn't look the same. And it was just sitting in the backround for half a day, decided to alt tab and bring it forward half hour ago when I noticed it so was wondering if there was some automatic update I missed.
  19. Just popped open several different builds, had a EM/Ninjitu all 45% positional or swear I did. Opened some other fire farm builds, all 45% fire soft cap is barely pushing 30%. The targeted AoE Winter when 6 slotted: 7.5% AoE, 7.5%; its showing as 7.04%. All IO defense numbers seem to have gotten a Buff Regen a decrease in total amount. Wanted to tweak some builds, now its a boring weekend 😕
  20. as long as I can turn them off, no problem. I don't care if you want to make a sublte costume with glowing eyes and hands, its the guy who decides to look like that neighborhood that goes all out with the christmas lightd and generates an electric bill that rivals some 1st world countires; I don't want to see those eye sores of massively over bright auras.
  21. Add Nemisis Lt typed characters to other factions. More NPC popping MoG and T9 clicks. More Self Rez powers, they keep comming back. put them at Minion level, give them sapper like debuffs and call it a day. Why? Because it's a Nemesis plot, when the room lights up with Venge multiple time, you got Uber super villions who don't go down. And start at level 1, contaminated in outbreak with Unstoppable and Elude. Fun times
  22. Tossed out Burn, unless you are soloing its next to useless in a group.
  23. I couldn't say it any better 👍
  24. OP is over thinking it. If the story doesn't make sense, something is wrong. If the story makes sense, it's a Nemesis plot and something is wrong.
