Hurricane (from Storm Summoning) making people physically ill?
UltraAlt replied to Spectral's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That doesn't work as well as the noparticles command. I couldn't even tell when it was supposed to be suppressing. I doubt that will help. noparticles help with the particles. I would go that route on the particles, because sometimes you will want to have them and other times you might want to see the particles. For example, if you turn particles off, you can't see base portals or the thing you need to click on for using an O-portal (you can see the rest of the O-portal though!). /macro Off "noparticles 1"/macro On "noparticles 0" I don't know of a command that can change the brightness of other players costume/power colors. -
Hurricane (from Storm Summoning) making people physically ill?
UltraAlt replied to Spectral's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Do they know about the noparticles command and does that help them at all? /macro Off "noparticles 1" /macro On "noparticles 0" First one turns the particles off. 2nd turns the particles back on. You have to rezone most of the time in order for the particles to turn entirely back on. But you don't have to zone for the full particle "off" to activate. It doesn't cover everything and it definitely doesn't cutdown on the brightness but it does make the screen far less busy ... on higher level teams you can actually see the enemies during a fight! -
That wasn't the excuse. There were alot of people street sweeping. I lead full teams doing it. Problem was simple. instances could be contained and limited the amount of drain on the servers by limiting the number of people involved that Servers had to keep track of. Street sweeping meant that a number of characters equal to the amount of load that instance of the zone could carry would be running around fighting things and the servers would have to keep track of all of it. My only guess is that a zone must have more enemies to fight than a Hami raid. However, that doesn't stand up for a Mothership Raid or the Rikti war zone in general. Saving citizens gaining progress toward leveled badges (Like Mentoring) makes more sense to me. I kind of consider the Exploration Tips to be motivation to street sweep. The open world is set as it is. How is the game going to determine the mob size for your team and not have that affect the the other teams in the zone? Hazard zones already yield more xp due to the mob size. So street sweep and don't care how much xp it gives you. I'll join you if I see you yell out for a street sweeping team in LFG and I'm not otherwize preoccupied/not in game. I'm sure others will as well. And I would suggesting running the teams explore tips as they rolled in as well. Street Sweeping Exploration Badge team LF#M

Yes. I understand, but it isn't mine. I wouldn't presume to put a link to it on the wiki myself without the permission of the creator. Well, my own personal spreadsheets are hidden, but I don't have a base spreadsheet. These links are to the Homecoming Wiki https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Everlasting_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Torchbearer_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Excelsior_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Reunion_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Reunion_Base_List They are all added in html to the web pages individually. Since there is someone that apparently has a composite base list, I thought maybe they might want to think about posting a link to it on the wiki. I would put it on the https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Supergroup_Base page as the other pages are for the individual servers, but, if I'm understanding correctly, the one used here is for all the servers. It would be cross-referencing I guess, but I don't think that's a bad thing. There are probably bases listed on the wiki that aren't on the spreadsheet, and I'm pretty sure there are a ton of base not listed on the wiki website. You have to register (separate from homecoming) and the it works like the wikipedia. You can add notes/discuss or you can write the html on the page to add what you want. It is the official Homecoming wiki, so it is Homecoming relevant. In my experience, it seems like 75% or more players only go to forms to register to get into a game or to ask questions. /help cuts down on the need to go to the forms to ask many questions, so that seems to also narrow down the numbers that go to the Homecoming forums. I used to think that City of Heroes had a larger percentage turnout to the forums than other games. I'm not sure about Homecoming at this point. Some people are too busy playing to bother coming to the forums which is a shame. I visit the forums everytime I play, but I don't get into all of the forum areas or subforum areas, so I tend to see things I'm setup to look for or if I see something new posted within the last 20-30 post that might interest me or I think I can help with. I build bases, but I like to keep my mask on, so I don't post about them. That being said, I know you have some great videos, but I just haven't had time to go look at them even though probably should. I already have like 8-10 bases built and they do what I need them to do, and I'm not trying to compete to be a great base builder like some of the players here (which do excellent work that I have taken time to visit on occasion). Yeah. That really is the key and the same thing with navigating the forums. I try to point people to the wiki when I'm /help-ing to try to give them the tool so they can empower themselves. For basic game stuff, the search function over here gets you more directly to what you are looking for most of the time. Having the wiki cross-reference/link to the forums seems to be a good way to complete the information circuit.

The wiki doesn't get much love ... https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Supergroup_Base Open Player Made Base Listing Listings of bases by shard intended for open use by the public, with entry passcodes. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Everlasting_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Torchbearer_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Excelsior_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Reunion_Base_List https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Reunion_Base_List Maybe whatever spreadsheet is being used here could be linked there?

Unfortunately, no Library storage was ever created for bases. However, you can email the recipes to yourself if you want to move them from one character or another. Set-up a email addressed to your global. Open the Recipe Window. Drag the recipe you want into the little square box [Attachment] in the email. Make sure to add a title if there isn't one and at least an "x" in the message area. I email myself an email with the title "Transfer" and then forward that to myself. This way, I just have to hit reply to that to send something. Little trick, after you hit reply, you can clear the title field. Then when you drop something into the [Attachment] box, the name of that item will then be the title of he email. You can store some this way, but Dacy method allows you to store many more than you will be able to store in email, but like Dacy said ....

I'm not that choosey. Give me whatever powers, and I'll make do. It would depend upon the power sets and AT that I was gifted with. But I wouldn't be using my powers to rob banks or wantonly to cause carnage. Once again, I would enjoy having any of them, but, I must say, that flight often seems to be the best pick for several reasons. I personally really like super leap, but that's practically flying these days when used for actual travel purposes.

I don't get to game much on weekends. That's just passive wealth gaining time.

Regardless of AT what are your favorite builds without Hasten
UltraAlt replied to KaizenSoze's topic in Archetypes
Considering how powerful it is, it really makes sense. However, making that change would cause thousands of characters to need to respec! -
I agree with if a tanks herding. I also agree "whoever else has point" aka "non-tank AT" is herding. I also think it tends to be whoever is able to take the alpha and, hopefully, contain the agro. But more likely, it is whoever it is that is able continually set-up combat situations so that the team isn't falling in combat. I mean, if the same character is falling in combat all the time, then probably it's their fault. And if someone isn't falling in combat when other are falling in combat, maybe see what they are doing and see how to help them with the tactic that they are using instead of the same thing that has been making you face plant on the floor over-and-over again. I do see a difference of someone forming a team and wanting to set the pace of the team -versus- someone joining a team and deciding that they are the one to set the pace of the team. And they can have those views. I can quit a team if I see that kind of stuff going on if I want to. I can also let teammates know that I'm running a team as the team leader, and If they don't want to team up they are free to leave the team. If they don't take that as a hint, I can always kick them. As a team leader, I can set the conditions to play the way that I like and not have other players ruin the my game experience. I find the few players that are like that are no loss being removed from a team and the team seems to run more smoothly once they are gone.

If the purchase isn't going through immediately, it can be a couple of things .... 1) it's because you are bidding below the price of the lowest price of available stock on the market. Example. You bid 500. The lowest price on the market is 600. You're bid won't go through until someone places the item on the market at or below 500 -and- no one is bidding more than 500 for the item -and- when your turn happens among all the other people that are also bidding 500 for the item 2) How busy is the market? If it is very busy time in the market, it will take long for your trades to get processed. 3) People can and do pay more than they need to pay for items ... intentionally. They can be doing it to make the sale go through quickly - like you are implying. They can be doing it because they don't know how much the lowest price that the might be able to get item for. 4) and other stuff that I won't divulge because ....

Happens from some people no matter what AT you play these days to be honest. The random "know betters" are far and few between. There is a difference between asking and demanding of course. The demanders get /ignored immediately. The ones that keep asking until they become buggers, well, they are just stealth demanders so they will end up getting the same treatment. Nope. Not at all. Any teams needs to take time to gel and figure out how things are working and what needs to be done to make it work. You NEVER have to have a tank on the team. Tankers don't even need to be ones to charge in. Tanks don't even need to charge in. Here's a tactic that I love that doesn't tend to get used. Tanker taunts a mob and runs around a corner. As they run up, controller taunts them. They can't attack the controller. The tank is around the corner, and they can't attack the tank. The tank jumps around the corner and re-taunts as it recharges. Controller keeps the glued down. The rest of the team mows them down. The tank is only the "big" man on the team because they are supposed to be protecting the rest of the team. You can play a tank however you like, but other players are going to figure out if you aren't taunting to protect them and start going after the strays one at a time instead of trying to use their multi target powers what would create better synergy with a team. Some players these days just join teams to solo. They aren't there to team. They are just there to show off how powerful they are. Case in point.

It does reduce the complexity of input. My hands are on the controller over 90% of the time that I game. And that includes taking time to market and help on the /help channel which is all mouse and keyboard. Wow. It was just "GO NORTH" or "GET BOOK" when played that kind of game. Yep. I've modified my buttons over time, but played with one the whole time since the week before episode 2 dropped. I use it to play other games as well. All by setting it up myself, and never using the default game controller configuration a game tries to give me because they pretty much alway suck.

Do you use the presence power pool to get controls?
UltraAlt replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Being character conception player, I do have a few characters with the presence pool. I tend to use the Pacify, intimidate, invoke panic, and unrelenting. I tend to use the unrelenting more as a power up than a self-rez. I usually don't double-up the fears but I think I have at least one Dark/dark tank with Presence powers as well to just really scare the heck out of enemies while I taunt them with Perfect Zinger Chance of Psi Damage. You know Batman has Presence Pool. -
Yeah, so they say, but I know it has resolved issues for me in the past regardless of what the professionals say. Maybe it's just my way to activate the tech gremlins to attach the glitches. Clearing the cookies isn't going to cause problems on your computer. If you use the default settings on a registry cleaner, you are generally going to be good. I turn off the options to clear any Windows stuff because sometimes Windows depends on it in future updates. As long as you aren't over cleaning you registries, it shouldn't cause any issues. I run the Optimizer on Webroot probaby once a week and it clears all the cookies in all the browsers as well as cleaning the registries.

In your screenshot, it appears that the HP baris off the top of the screen along with other things that would be normally visible if you were taking a screenshot versus some clipped image of the screen. It obviously isn't showing the full viewing area. Yeah, you may need to rollback to legacy drivers. My laptop that is from even the early 2010's has to use the legacy drivers. Good. Sounds like it is fixed for you. Have fun.
