Please make MM upgrade powers passive
UltraAlt replied to Col. Kernel's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They can still fight when they aren't upgraded. Wait to upgrade them until after a round of combat is over if it is too tedious to use the upgrade power during combat. I'm assuming you know that you don't need upgrade them singularly or by tier. As long as they are all within range, they will get the upgrade. Being in Defense mode doesn't stop your pets from attacking. If you are attacked, your henchmen attack whomever attacked you. If one of your pets are attacked, they attack whomever attacked them. They don't stop attacking when you switch to defensive mode if they are already in combat. Everytime my characters don't have enough endurance to continue attacking and that includes when I think I will be taking them too low on END to keep toggles running. -
Yes, but you only see the rating you give them with the stars that show up over their head if you have the option set to see it. My impression of Excelsior hasn't been good either. I see it as the new post-free-to-play Freedom server. It comes with most of the same baggage you get from the most populated server on any game.

I have not experience this myself, but I have never tried to juggle multiple rooms multiple times. I'm assuming that you already backed out of the base editor and tried to go back in - and - gone out of the base editor, gone to the character login screen, logged back in, and tried going into the base editor again. I would also try logging out completely, check for updates, and validate just to make sure anything behind-the-scenes didn't have something to do with it. If none of that work and if possible , I would delete one of the smaller rooms, move the other rooms away from where you want the entrance room to be, try moving the entrance room, move the other rooms where you want them to be then recreate that room you had to delete. If it will won't link up, see if there is an issue with where the connecting door is trying to link to the next room and make sure that there are no items blocking the connection (I'm assuming that they shouldn't but it could be possible.

Teaming makes leveling quicker and more fun as far as I'm concerned. Don't want to get involved with anything long and you only have a set amount of time to play? Recruit on the /lfg channel. There is almost always at least a couple of other players running around at any given play range that are looking for something to do. Recruit for team doing content that you want to do. If you are going to use one of the START xp boosts, use the x2 XP boost. You can get 8 hours worth at a time. Remember though, if you use one of the xp boosts, your character doesn't gain any infl while it is active. I'm assuming that you haven't turned off XP gain for some reason. It is in the options menu. If you are fighting grays, you aren't going to get much xp from them. This can happen due to out leveling missions/contact or your notoriety settings In regard to a contact, this can easily happen if you have opened a story arc (you'll see a little book on the contact listing). Once a story arc is open, the contact will continue to give you missions even if you have outleveled them. Hopefully, you haven't outleveled the contact so much that you can't use notoriety to level-up the enemies so that they are no longer grey. In regard to notoriety (see the little bubble on the right side of the chat line? click on that and then click on the notoriety setting), you can adjust the level and size of spawns. If you are heading or around level 20 and can fully slot with SOs, then a non-controller/defender in most cases can handle +2 difficulty and probably up to 2 team size. I would probably stay with around +1 or +2 and 1 team size if on a controller or defender. The higher the level of the threat against you the more xp you get. You can reset the difficulty level of a mission by going out of a mission, then picking another mission or logging to the character screen and then back in again and then changing the notoriety. You also might want to try running police scanner (talk to a detective) or newspaper (I guess Mikey the Ear is the first contact that will provide one on the villain side) missions. These give the option to pick one of 3 missions and then you can pick to do a special mission to protect a bank (hero) or a mayhem mission (villain). These are generally shorter missions then the door missions that you will get from higher level content. Now I'm not one to do this myself, but, if you really feel like you are stuck at some point leveling, then look for people that are recruiting for level 50 teams (mostly police scanner ones in PI would be a good bet) that will take characters any level. You'll get more mission because you are on a team, because you are sidekicked up to near level 50, and the enemy mob level and size is generally going to be large proportionally than you are able to fight on your own. You really have to decide if the goal is to play the content or to try to level up as fast as possible.

Sometimes, hunt the lake in Altas and then go over to Echo: Galaxy City and hunt the lake over there. There are enemies running around. They are in the same level ranges as Atlas. If you get all the explore badges in Echo: Galaxy City, you get https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Galactic_Explorer_Badge For some characters, I find it fun to have "Galactic Explorer" as their chosen badge.

What enemy group member do you target for a ranged (cone) power?
UltraAlt replied to MirAdj's topic in Controller
So I'm going to take the easy route based on your info and ask google ... ... with the caveat ... Hoping that is correct, we are looking 50*π/3 feet which it looks like it will calculate out to around 52 feet base width. @Doomguide2005 I was confused by your deployment of the Seeds of Confusion as I was apparently standing within range of the cone. -
What enemy group member do you target for a ranged (cone) power?
UltraAlt replied to MirAdj's topic in Controller
Yes. There are still range enhancements and some cones can be enhanced by them. They widen the cone base because the cone's range ("height "in the diagram) is longer. Range enhancements do not change the arc of the cone. -

UltraAlt replied to MirAdj's topic in Controller
So if I understand what you are saying correctly: It is a cone. It starts at the vertex (that is you) from there the cone widens as it travels out 60 feet (the height in this diagram). Once it reaches that 60 feet, the arc/base of the cone will be 50 feet wide. Cones in the game have different arcs and ranges which change the size of the base. There used to be arc enhancements that you could slot to increase the width of the base. -

can we fix the AH overflow tell spam?
UltraAlt replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The problem to me is that it acts like a /tell. It says it is a tell - which as far as I know, is a "private message". If you don't put "private message" in chat tab then /tells from other players don't show up. So the root of the problem is what makes this /ah spam tells different from private messages so that it overrides all chat windows? As far as I'm concerned it could be an /error message or a /system message. Spam those all you want. At this point, I think any new player that see the /ah buttons greyed out are going go the the /help channel and ask why (by which time, it will probably have cleared) Let's look at how the game behaves if I try to pull "Character Items" out of email too fast. Get ready for the wall of spam, because I'm going to post it ... you better stand back! Please wait a moment. Yeah. That's it. Please wait a moment. once. So if the "Character Items" can do that when I'm machine gun clicking the "claim" button (and, yeah, I can click pretty fast at this point to post items and to get influence from sold items one at a time), why can't the /AH spam behave like that? It seems it is getting all of the overflow/excessive requests at the same time versus the "claim" button immediately locking up when you try to get one too quickly. And, yeah, it is around 30 that it can handle at one time - which makes me think that the solution is that the game should know that limit and the "get all inf" should be change to "get 30 item Inf". That being said. If you click that and get infl for 30 and try to do it immediately again, it will lock up. You can do a test and see how it behaves. Wait for a while when you have about 60 left. Click as quickly as you can to one-at-a-time retrieve infl until you get down to say 25 items left to get influence for. Then quickly hit the "get all inf' button - and it will lock up. Maybe I click faster than most people, but I have seen this happen repeatedly. I don't know exactly how long the buffering is on the sales, but it is in there even if you are manually clicking to get the infl. You simply usually can't click fast enough to fill the buffer before the oldest "get inf" on single item has has been cleared to make room for a new retrieval. I think it is down to an all or nothing thing. I think at this point. some of us would like the option of "or nothing". So how do we achieve that? It might turn into a Null the Gull kind of work around thing if it is even doable. "Make me not see /AH spam" and, if you really like, you can ask the Null again to "Make me see /AH spam". I know what is happening at this point. I would be fine never having ALL my chat tab windows filled with the spam ever again. I know to wait once it locks up. No big deal. No need to waste CPU time sending me X number of messages tell me something that I already know. -
It is more useful in leveling content and a team that will work to pull enemies to it to fight rather than just "Hulk smash". It can be useful when fighting bosses or giant monsters that tend to say in one place. Plant it when a fight with one of those gets to going so it benefits the melee characters and then move back.

We know that the line is wishy-washy here so I don't want to really type about this too much. Clearly, the red line is closed when you make a character that looks like the character and has the same name. And we know we can get pretty close to looking like a great many comic book characters. As far as the name goes, even if there are spaces, no spaces, or numbers mixed in that is going to cross the line. A big green guy in purple pants and no shirt is obviously going to get someone in trouble. I have seen far too many of these over the years. I have no idea what color pants Red Hulk wears. Change the color scheme, the name, and the bio and you can head into homage country. It is easier said then explained. Give me a (one) character (just one. I'm just going to make one) and I'll make a homage that I think won't be considered a rip, but close enough that it will "feel" like you are playing the same/similar character. As far as homage goes, I would kind of say that Nightwing (Dick Grayson) is a homage to Robin (Dick Grayson). Nightwing is also kind of a parody of Batman as it was a name that Superman used when he and Jimmy Olsen (as Flamebird) ran around as superheroes in the bottled city of Kandor. Apparently in some continuity variation, Nightwing was actually some historical Kryptonian hero that was like Batman. Superman told Robin about it and that is why he decided to use the name for himself. Red Robin, however, is a restaurant chain (founded 1969).... and, yeah, a DC character (created 1996) .. named after the restaurant chain? The comic book creators probably will never tell.

You could load it in here to see if anyone can help. Are you having problems with other games crashing?

Your character(s) can have day job powers and START powers that can get you to supergroup bases and then use the teleporters to move your character(s) from zone to zone. Not good enough? They add the Long Range Travel Power. That is after already having the START Mission Teleporter and Team Transporter power. Running scanner/paper missions mean that you don't have to zone to run the next mission. You don't ever have to zone if you want to run on AE missions to avoid having to travel anywhere. I like racing across zones myself. I used to love watching other teams race by as they headed to their next mission. Kill-Alls are to clean out all the enemies. I really don't have an issue with these unless one gets stuck in wall. You can always autocomplete it if it isn't in a task force if it bothers you so much. Players can have it, so why can't the enemies. Honestly, if you think that is such a pain, you have two options; beat them down before they can use it, or phase shift and go after them. Moment of glory is no different than when the Master Illusionists (or whatever go desolid) or those dudes that pop the shield that make them invincible. wow. you really aren't enjoying this game at all. Can you taunt them, immobilize them, sleep them, or slap a hold on them? What like creating bio? Or maybe making multiple costume? Building a base? Designing an AE mission? Power customization? Crafting? The /AH? Picking powers and slotting up? These are all other aspects of the game.

Well, it is a "chance for" 3 times a minute. What is the recharge time on Dark Regen? I remember it being kind of long. It would only have a chance to trigger each time that dark regen was used. When it is in health, it is getting triggered far more than 3 times a minute so you are likely to get all 3 "time a minute" every minute.

I play leveling content I tend to stay in defense mode, stay with my pets, and jump into the middle of battle. Lately, the best secondary I have found to keep pets (and teammates) alive is by far Electrical Affinity ... https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Electrical_Affinity I'm a character conception player, so it really doesn't work for me to use it with Beast Mastery, Demon Summoning (unless going petless), Mercenaries, or Thugs. Using it with Necromancy, Robotics (come with the power https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Robotics#Maintenance_Drone), and petless Demon Summoning (when treating teammates as pets), it does a really good job. Usually, I will target all powers through whatever highest level henchman I have out. The electrical heals and buffs jump from one character to the next. So if you are near the targeted henchman there is a good chance that you will get healed and buffed as well (as well as all your nearby henchmen). Quick-recharge heals, buffs, and a static forcefield that you drop where you and your henchmen will be standing. Also, I also must add that there are some critical enhancements that can help keep your pets alive. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Command_of_the_Mastermind:_Recharge/Pet_%2BAoE_Defense_Aura https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Mark_of_Supremacy:_Endurance/Pet_%2BResist(All)_and_%2BRegen_Aura https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Edict_of_the_Master:_Defense_Bonus https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Commanding_Presence:_Taunt/Placate_Resist (don't think I ever bothered using this one, but it might come in handy in some cases)

Ghostcrawler Calls Streamlined Leveling in MMORPGs a Mistake
UltraAlt replied to Lunar Ronin's topic in Video Games
I was confused because you necro'ed a thread from last October to post the info. Other than that I enjoyed your post.
