Thanks Avernal. That still gives me the targeting reticle to select the goto location. My goal was to not use the mouse at all. Just press a single key and they come/stay to my location. But, similar to SmalltalkJava, I have not found a way to avoid the targeting reticle that forces me to click the mouse set the location. I mean /bind shift+lbutton "petcomall goto" works pretty well. It executes the goto and targeting reticle in one click. But, it still forces to take my focus off the fight for a second to shift+click the mouse to set the location at my feet. You can kind of get this effect by binding a key to "petcomall Follow", but when you execute the Follow command, the pets pause attacking. Its like the AI is resetting or something and they just stand around for a couple seconds before they start fighting again. And in Follow mode they tend to scatter quite a bit. But, that 'AI reset' doesnt seem as severe if you use the GoTo command and target your feet. They run to the location and immediately start attacking, and they stay much closer to you. So, if you are a MM with a healing aura and/or to-hit debuff aura (e.g. Time), using the GoTo command to make your pets come/stay at your location will keep them fighting more, and greatly improve their survivability. (Just remember to put them back in Follow mode before you move to the next mob. Otherwise you will find yourself soloing the mob while your pets are back at your prior location taking a 'smoke break' 🙂

I have been attempting without luck to create a single keystroke bind that will make my MM pets come to me and stay with me while they keep fighting. What I have been trying to do is use /bind p "powexeclocation me petcomall goto" But, it doesnt work. Also tried /bind p "powexeclocation me "petcomall goto"" /bind lbutton "petcomall goto" works with mouse button, but I have to manually target at my feet. I want to be able to hit 1 button, and the pets immediately scurry to my location and stay there and fight from that location. Any other ideas?

Avast blocking forums as a phishing site.
JAMMan0000 replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in Help & Support
Yep same thing happening to me on Chrome as well. I just submitted feedback to Avast asking them to check the basis for this being flagged as a phishing site and that I was pretty confident it was not. -
First, if you just started playing, then I would encourage you to stick with it. This can be a pretty complex game and learning how it works takes some time. This is not a game where everybody gets a goldstar no matter how well they play. The more you learn about the game, the different powersets, and different opponents the better you will do. So don't be too hard on yourself with your first character. Also, your comment about ' I feel like there should be no right or wrong power you should be able to choose what ever the heck you want and still be able to solo through game.' That is simply not how this game is designed. Different powersets fulfill different roles and different combinations of powersets compliment each other better than others. Part of learning how different powerset combinations work with each other (or don't work with each other) is part of the puzzle that makes the game challenging and fun. Thats one of the reason's Alting is such a big part of this game - experimenting with different power combinations that fit your play style and do what you want them to do. But, all of that takes time. So stick with it, ask around, try different things and there is a real good chance you will find that favorite toon that is just 'you'.

Possibly the change to fly that Jimmy said might affect other things unexpectedly?

Here are a few specific example macros from the Wiki that sound like they would fit your situation: /macro cc1 "em none$$cce 0 ccspin$$l Wheeee!" Clears any emote/combat stance, then changes into costume slot one with the Spin CCE, while saying "Wheeee!" in local chat. /macro cc2 "em none$$cce 1 cclightning$$l Kablam!" Clears any emote/combat stance, then changes into costume slot two with the Lightning CCE, while saying "Kablam!" in local chat.

I have used both and I like both. But, I tend to prefer Power Crash for same reason as Oysterhead. I usually try to fit a FF +rech proc it them. I havent done the math, but feel I get a better chance at procing with PC.

Yes I have had same issue. I run full screen. To me its like the Pause button is hit for 15-30 sec and then restarts. On teams, the rest of the team continues on while I am 'paused'. When I 'unpause' the rest of the team has cleared the mob and moved on and I have to go catch up with them. So its something specific to my character. I have noticed it on various characters, and it seems to happen most often when there is a lot of activity occurring. I haven't noticed it when just cruising around or sitting in my base.

Incentive to Promote Working as a Team
JAMMan0000 replied to JAMMan0000's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Good feedback, thanks gang! -
Just an idea - In addition to the existing xp bonus for teaming, add an incentive to promote staying grouped near the team leader. For example, how about adding a xp/infl bonus of 0.625%/person within 50 feet of the team leader. That way if a team of 8 stayed within 50 feet of the team leader, each member of the team would receive a 5% bonus to xp/infl. I suppose you could add other types of incentives as well. But the general idea would be working together as a team.

Exciting new idea for Zones (helping teaming as well)
JAMMan0000 replied to Voltak's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yes same thing I have been suggesting/requesting too. If we had a Notoriety option to set our level to any level at or below our natural level, and the game for all intents and purposes treated us like we are at that lower level, that would open up more options for story content and teaming. As is, once my character gets to 50 and has incarnates, theres not much challenge any more. When teaming with other 50 incarnates we can just about obliterate mobs as fast as we see them. Some times thats fun. But, most of the time I find more enjoyment leveling when missions are challenging and teaming is meaningful. Any way, I love the game and am just looking for ways to maximize the fun 🙂 -
New Notoriety Option: No Enhancement Set Bonuses
JAMMan0000 replied to Blackfeather's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I can relate to this. Once getting to 50 and incarnates, teams are so overpowered, its not fun any more. Then my 50 pretty much just gets shelved. I often find myself, looking for lower level teams to join, just I/we are handicapped enough that there is a little bit of a challenge and some satisfaction from teaming. For me most of my issues could be resolved if there was just a Notoriety option to set my level to any level below my 'natural' level, and use all of the existing standard exemping rules to handicap my powers available, IO scaling, set bonuses, etc. That way; - If I don't want to play with Incarnates, I could just set my level to 44, get exempted down to 44, recruit my team (all exempted down to 43) and do regular PI level content. - If I want to do earlier out leveled content missed previously, I just set my level to the appropriate level, get exempted down, recruit my team and go for it. Being able to set our level would increase our access to content and allow us to control difficulty to keep the fun and challenging at any level. -
VidiotMaps for Issue 24 and Beyond
JAMMan0000 replied to Blondeshell's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
I thought I would do a little investigation in to this. I had some similar issues when creating textures for base transporter labels. Well what do you know... I go to Siren's call and guess what... Icecomet, you are not alone. I seem to have the same issue. Did similar troubleshooting suggested above and still no solution. As ATC mentioned, this looks like a graphic format issue. Beyond that, I couldn't figure it out either. I don't PvP, so this isn't a big deal and I just deleted the *.texture file for Siren's Call. But, am curious why this is occurring. -
Maybe this exists and I just don't know where it is. But, what would be REALLY NICE is setting that would allow you exemplar down to what ever level you want to play at. One of the downers about getting to 50, is you can't play lower level content easily anymore. I mean you can try to find a lower level team to exemp you down, and you can play flashbacks. But, finding a lower level team isn't real convenient, and flashbacks force you to enter Task Force mode which restricts people from coming/going on your team. It would be really nice to just have a setting that would effectively auto exemplar you to your desired level with no other restrictions. So if I am a Level 50 but want to run Level 30 radios/mishes/teams.... whatever, I just select level 30, my powers get restricted/downgraded and I go. Wonder if this could be implemented via a 'phantom' team members at all levels, then just allow us to exemplar to the one at our desired level ... or something like that.

Yep overall an improvement. Once in while I use one of the summonable base portals, but not very often. Long Range TP and habit of logging out by base portal pretty much takes care of everything. I also think the new base portal locations and porting next to base portals was a big improvement. Another kind of positive side effect I have noticed is teamwork in coordinating/offering Team Teleport. People seem more thoughtful about offering it and team member seem more appreciative. Once again, the CoH community has pulled together to meet the challenge.

Quality of Life, Texture Mods, and Other Things
JAMMan0000 replied to 12thPower's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Look up a few posts. There are some new textures for I27 base beacons similar, not exact, format as 12thPowers prior textures. -
Just a note about CoH Modder and the new Homecoming launcher. I changed over to the HC Launcher and wanted to redirect CoH Modder to its home directory C:\Games\Homecoming\. When I did that Coh Modder gave an error that it could not find the CoH executable. I presume thats a safety check of CoH Modder to verify its pointed at a valid directory. But, when using the HC Launcher, the executables are in different folders. So what I did was create a dummy text file in the C:\Games\Homecoming\ folder and just renamed it to CityofHeroes.exe. That seemed to satisfy CoH Modder. But, thats a pretty ugly workaround. Is there a more appropriate way to do this?

Quality of Life, Texture Mods, and Other Things
JAMMan0000 replied to 12thPower's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Went ahead and took a shot at doing this on my own. Wasn't sure where best to make this available to others. So posted here and in CoH Modder topic. -
Created texture files for the new I27 Base Teleporters with name labels. Basically an extension of 12thPowers pack listed above. Also created a 'Base Teleporter Beacon Labels - Addendum for Issue 27' mod for CoH Modder. Here is a zip file for those who prefer a more hands-on approach. Just extract to data folder within your main City of Heros folder (or Homecoming if you are using the new launcher). It should add 7 new Arcane and 7 new Tech textures to the same folders as the prior Base Teleporter textures. texture_library.zip
