  3. Yes. And even swings in the price are never much, because downward market forces. Luck charms for LOTS of money anyone, because used by so much and farmed by level fixed noobs? And because they don't drop off high level mobs? Salvage bucketing fixed a completely unrelated problem.
  4. People would murder you if you automatically took items off the AH that didnt sell within x days/months/years. Why? They spent hard earned inf to list the damn thing to start with. You pay to list, you pay to collect. There really seems to be an effort by a few here to fix a problem that doesnt exist. 2 BILLION inf panacea procs anyone? Yeah, I think it is SO good here, that people are acting in complete disregard to what the market was like on live, and even after converters and RMT buy it on the marketplace they added at the end. I don't like marketing. I use it as a tool occasionally, and I understand (and sometimes partake in) market pvp. But for the people that engage in market pvp, THANK YOU, because YOU marketeers make it possible for ME to get what I need with just a little effort. The idea that there should be bids for things with only 0 for sale is pretty absurd. Unfilled bids tell you what the market will bear, and you list accordingly.
  5. Even if lotg +rech is being manipulated, which I am very confident it is not, I think you are missing _scale_. Heavy marketeers will dump 1000's of items for sale onto the market, and just dont care if it doesn't sell today, or tomorrow, or 5 weeks for now. EVENTUALLY, it will sell. These same people run sometimes up to 100s (yes, that is correct number) of marketing characters. If you assume such a person has 100 level 50 marketing chars listing at any given time ~1/2 of their capacity, that is 100k postings on the ah. These same people are going to be engaging in buy low, sell high, and if shit doesnt sell (which it will.... EVENTUALLY), no loss to them because hey, they can slot it! And they arent just buy low, sell high. They are also convertering at the same time to produce more valuable assets. And these converterings are not what you probably thinking. In mass marketing like this, just converting an uncommon to a rare nets you as much as 700k profit on a 200k or less buy. 100 such postings nets you 70 mill. That leaves 99000 of their other postings to buy things. These mass marketers, mass producers, REALLY exist. I know some of them. The concerted marketing you think you see really isn't there, because market forces really squash that, and mass marketers make LOTS and LOTS of inf with very little effort, once they get started.
  6. Ive seen it manipulated, but it gets squashed by market forces usually within 24-48 hours... Really, there is little reason to say the market is broke, when a level 1 character can bring in millions of in with a very short playthrough that level 1 ae arc where it is all spawns of 1 boss (or eb) that ANYONE can take down,e ven trollers, and roll in 700+ tickets and buy (w/ tickets) and sell (on ah) rare salvage.
  7. I run a plant/ta, and at 40+, I am finding most of my action is hold the boss twice (ice arrow, entangler), roots or whatever the aoe immob is, every single ta debuff (+buff?? Go EMP arrow!) I took that is up, creepers, vines on occasion when things get crazy, and massaging Audrey's shoulders when she is tired of eating people. I found seeds to be utterly useless, since by the time I have laid any amount of debuffs on the mobs, they can't hit each other or anybody else, so it was was of a few seconds that I could have used for something else... Creepers + acid arrow + disruption arrow + -res from a dozen other procs + OSA makes for LOTS and LOTS of orange numbers. I don't have a lot of defense, and outside of emp arrow bubble i am not the most sturdy of people, but damn can I melt things, and provide meltage for other people. Layering the many sources of -res procs + disruption + the st immob from ta is just silly sawse.
  8. My experience with empathy started with my very first ever char in coh. an empath/dark defender. By the time I took fly?, fitness pool, everything in my primary, I had 2 attacks. The snipe, and something else that was low damage. If I wasn't on a team, I was basically doing nothing and killing nothing. It was horridly unfun. Maybe in the modern game empathy is more fun but, first char ever? Head start launch? That feeling of abject failure just never went away....
  9. So, one more dumb question. I am currently slotting 4 expedient reinforcement + a lady grey chance for neg damage in flytrap. Does flytrap fire a lot of -def attacks that it could proc with?
  10. I was told to slot ff +rech in my creepers, but despite dropping it on a big group of mobs and monitoring my recharge times and recharge bonus combat attribute, i NEVER see it fire? Am I missing something?
  11. So, I am not sure about this build. I havent slotted anything. I really feel the lack of defense. However, the idea here is simple. Massive soft control at range leading to a foldspace into pbaoe glue arrow, osa, creepers, etc etc. The idea is flash at distance, seeds at distance, pull, osa, creepers, acid arrow (gets some knockdown and/or immob immediately, creepers does its thing to spread agro, aa pops the slick, mop up)/ I dont have anything slotted yet, and nothing really strikes me as overly expensive. It isn't. 😞 I did this exactly for the same thoughts, but it turns out, the mobs don't get acc debuffed fast enough to not plink at you, and the repel (not kd) part of hurricane isnt very helpful. I figured that coupled with lots and lots of stationary KD from water blast would be ideal, but turns out that no, not really. All because of the damn repel. I was very sad.
  13. @Doomriderdon't laugh, but the build is impossible to read! There are SO MANY POWERS! My brain is not as young as it used to be! Hahah! The numbers look really good! It will just take me some time to try and figure out whats going on! 🙂 I appreciate the help everyone! I am going to manually level this thing up, so I can at least attempt to understand the AT as I go. 😄
  14. I hate getting mez'd. And warshades seem _pricey_. I love fold space, and ran into a guy running 2 copies of it (warshade fs, and teleport fs), and I want to be that guy! I love defenders, scrappers, some tanks. How can I make this work in a way I might like? I can't bankroll a ton of purples... ANY help is appreciated! Thanks!
  15. fire/dark/mu(fences)/teleport pool (ct, tt, fs) tank Why? If you are soloing the high end of praetoria, you need something that is tough as nails and still put out damage. Soloing the upper (and final) praetoria content is pretty rough, especially if you are playing with avs on solo...

  17. Bind it is my take on it. I havent tried pushing a button in a power bar with a mouse. I recommend binding to f, only because i put myself on braindead for r to travel (no travel power, hover discs)
  18. #6 has amazing badges. Look cool, have coolnames. Total blast to play. Belladonna's is pretty ok, but no where near as badass as 6's. Bring a full team to the last mish and dont accept the help for a bad ass badge. Just be aware its gonna hurt.
  19. Foldspace takes recharge (accuracy as well i think). You can get it sub 1 minute trivially. Depending on what you are folding, you can use it every other spawn or sooner. CT will take place of foldspace in general use based on cooldown. Problem with fold space is that teams may not really get whats happening so you either n eed to be a good far distance ahead, or let them know before you fold. Chasing things all over the place (runners) with CT is fun.
  20. I think the vrare experienced is multiple experienced charges. 25 merits is half a winter pack. Canes can be converted to inf as enhs or whatever. So really, you aren't out that much,
  21. Fire is up there too, especially if you go anywhere near farms, or if you deal with high end clockwork which have these stupid built in flamethrowers, or CoT, which have the demons. But def SLE. There are two ways to deal with it; defense, and resist. Defense can go ranged/aoe/melee that can be very effective on character build and complements to resist type, used either to fill holes or strengthen existing sets. Sets like shield, bio, energy have a mixed bag of things in their arsenal, so slotting them up can be tricky. For sure, hybrid sets never come out looking the set, no matter who slots them. In resist armors, you have things that are insane like elec and rad which can be tricked out for max resists across a bunch of flavors of damage. Doing so leaves you with less defense, so what defense you DO pick up may need some thinking to resolve.

  24. NOTHING will EVER play or feel like "Old EM". In my opinion, it should not be required to, nor should it be required to hew closely to what "Old EM" was. The game has changed immensely over the years. Time to let halcyon days pass.
