Back with another update. Yikes, been almost a month. All 3 Dominators are level 27. I haven't started IOing just yet, mostly because I'm confused as to where to place them. I will probably make my own attempts in Mids and make separate threads at some point. The Dark/Fire continues to be a smooth ride. Definitely the easiest to play. The Plant/Earth is probably the most fun. Had to start being a little careful as mobs evolve. Council rip him to shreds. The Grav/Psi is becoming a little frustrating to play. As I stated before, this is the first time I'm playing both sets. I just got Wormhole and it's a little confusing to me. Is there a trick to it? Do I need to buff its range? I'm pretty much done trying to progress the slow way. It's been a test of patience. I have way more fun in Domination than I do out, and I know that's only gonna get better with IOs. I'm probably gonna give them a boost to 35 and see how it goes from there. The good news is the Plant/Earth is definitely a keeper.

Howdy Blasters. I found myself enjoying the hell out of a Fire/MA recently. Very agile, lots of AoE, and fun melee. I spent some time in working on a build, and after a couple of passes, I'm pretty sure I've squeezed just about as much as I could out of it. However, I figured I'd throw it your way, since I know y'all are so much better at Blasters than I am. That's not a dig. I only play melee. A couple of points for those wanting to help: -Must be exemp friendly. -Fly is required for the concept. Combat Jumping is because I like Combat Jumping. -I'm an extremely mobile player. As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I can imagine that converters might see a slight increase in price, but nothing else might majorly change. But I'm surprised this is what caught your attention and not that now is the perfect time to loot controller and dom ATOs to flip when the new powersets hit live. Actually, no, don't pay attention to that. Forget I mentioned it.

Thanks much. So about Valor. It's completely identical to Fortitude? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Defender Fort give like +20% DEF or something like that? I'd just be concerned that, with all the other tools ATs that can select Empathy also get access to (Power Boost, Scorpion Shield), and being able to heal yourself and boost your own regeneration to ludicrous levels, that you would run into an "Invincible Cleric" situation. Maybe it could just be really hard to get a decent recharge on it. I'm pretty much on board with every other suggestion, though. Just confused about the strength of Valor.

When I get home from work I'll link you my AR/Tac Blaster. I have Full Auto down to ~20 secs which makes it an "every other cycle" power. I don't think it can get much lower than that. Still pretty damn good.
-
Just wanted to comment on Ignite. After playing an AR blaster, I feel like this power is meant to be dual-purpose in its design. In regular gameplay, I mostly place it on myself to shoo away any melee assailants. Where Ignite truly shines is its use in burning AVs. AR doesn't get a ton of single target damage, but against an immobilized AV, it gets a massive boost in DPS thanks to Ignite.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Sheathed Weapon System
Spaghetti Betty replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Thank you. A million times thank you. This has been my most requested addition since Live. Easily my favorite part of this update. Just one thing of note. Some of the sheathed katana models seem placed really far away from the character model. At least on female. Specifically the Vanguard options were the ones I noticed. Is there a possibility of adding "sheathed" Shields in the future? -
I do appreciate the work on new animations. I really do. But something about the new running animation just makes it look really goofy. I'm sorry. The lining of the pelvis while running looks wrong to me. Instead of leaning into the run, it comes off as this hunched over, "really gotta go to the bathroom" look. Maybe it's just me.
-
Yeah, kinda. I dunno. Maybe? I can't say I've had weak Tanks before. Maybe ones I just didn't like playing as much. Some of them feel like they do a ridiculous amount of damage for how tough they are. It probably says enough that I almost never make Scrappers anymore. But I never really wanted damage from a Tanker. They are already gods of crowd control. And pillars of immortality. But I couldn't tell you what one specific thing makes them feel a little too strong. It could've been the AoE buff. Maybe it's the fact that they can utilize and benefit more from damage procs than the other melee ATs. Being able to stand upright reliably plays a big factor in DPS too. I can tell you I enjoy the shit out of them though. I don't know what other AT can turn this game into "Dynasty Warriors, but a dungeon crawler" quite as fast as a Tanker can.

What TF/SFs do you run the most?
Spaghetti Betty replied to KaizenSoze's topic in General Discussion
Definitely ITF. It's the only one I'll make time for nowadays. It's one of the most well constructed TFs in the game, in my opinion. It's also the only TF I'll see formed at 3 AM. My schedule sucks. 2nd place probably goes to Katie. I love that TF too. -

Criticism for a SJ/WP build, please and thank you
Spaghetti Betty replied to Neoweasel's topic in Brute
Ok, I went and took another look at a build using these as a guide. Just wanna offer up my own viewpoint, but while Brutes can hit Tank levels of bulk, it's really hard, and you could end up leaving damage on the table while chasing numbers. Broots should be brooting. I managed to soft cap energy/neg energy/fire/cold defense. You would be 5 points short of capped on s/l resistance, but you have a lot of tricks up your sleeve for emergencies. Strength of Will, Darkest Night, and Barrier are your "oh shit" buttons for when the going gets tough. It seems like overkill, but with only 17.3% DDR, things will get through. In a perfect world, Crushing Uppercut would get proc bomb slotting, but Gloom makes a strong filler power if there happens to be a lull in your attack rotation. Hope this helps. -

Here's mine. Also was my first toon coming back from Live. Keep in mind, this build is over a year old. I'd like to think my philosophies have changed a bit since then, but I do fire up this toon still from time to time and have no problems running it. To Proc Or Not To Proc For Damage?
Spaghetti Betty replied to Clave Dark 5's topic in General Discussion
I think it mostly depends on the power in question. I would never proc out something like Storm Kick because the return on it isn't as good as regular slotting. Knockout Blow should definitely be loaded up with procs. Then there are other cases like Freezing Touch. It gets access to a ton of good sets for chasing bonuses, but can also be proc'd out for massive damage. I like powers like that because you can get really creative with how you slot it. Oh, and per usual, recharge rate is generally a good place to start on choosing what powers would make good proc bombs. -

Do you track supply and demand in your niche?
Spaghetti Betty replied to Ukase's topic in The Market
I'm no Yomo, but even I can see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch when the market is fluctuating in interesting ways. I don't have the attention span to sit there and lord over the market, but when I do have inventory to sell, I'll make small mental notes of a few key items and their subsequent resources. With the flux that's currently going on between LoTG's and uncommon salvage, I've also had an eye on ATOs. If current demands are because people are coming back for the summer and making a ton of alts, then looking at those at least tells me which ATs they're making more of and which ATOs I can siphon off the market for cheap (Kheld ATOs are always a huge win for me. Also, RIP Khelds) and convert for my own purposes. PVP IOs are behaving much in the same way. The usual procs are hella inflated at the moment, or at least they were the last time I checked. But Experienced Marksman is still easy to plunder. They don't know yet. -
It's a little low on the AoE def but I feel like the NRG def makes up for it. Pretty cool considering you skipped the potential second armor for Empty Clips. There's enough damage here that missing the little bit of extra def might not be that much of a detriment with some good tactics. And the 2 placates and Unleash Potential would definitely come in handy.

Sometimes I wish we could port stuff like this for funsies on Brainstorm, just so we can see what it would look like if a scrapper with double stacked rage and critical strikes proc lands a KO Blow. It could make for some interesting conversation soup.
