Dark is great on a lot of things. Dark melee maybe below par, but it's getting a little boost in the next patch with more being looked into in the future. I think you may have spoken to someone who had bad experiences - which is fine, it happens. But you can definitely make it work.

Pre-Emptive Suggestion: Add More Base Portals to Zones

Which key zones are missing? I think the Praetorian ones could be worth adding, but I'm not sure I can think of any others that are so critical. -

This is the most roundabout way to arrive at a suggestion that I have ever seen. -

Looks like it's getting worse - had a night of my own bids at 5k not buying and the last few sales have been at 50,000+.

Nuke this particular forum every season/every 3 months
Lines replied to Ruin Mage's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Nah. I see where OP is coming from, but a significant advantage of a forum is that it keeps a fairly well organised record. Topics may ruffle feathers now and again, but even that is stuff we ought to keep. Nuking it would be sweeping it under the rug for it to spring up again. Also, buff knockback. Anyone who speaks otherwise is a hairy turnip. -

I kinda agree, besides the last part. I think the OP is coming from a more neutral place than perhaps is being suggested. I didn't read it as demanding nor entitled, though I broadly disagree with the sentiment. -
I was wondering exactly this after I made the last post. I'd love Hero 1 to take an active role in the world, and this would be a wonderful way to make the world feel a little bit alive around the player's actions. Plus, I'm all for having a Brit in front of city hall. Represent!

I agree, and would include Hero 1 to the blacklist, sadly. There is far too much in the game referring to how dead he is and you visit his memorial a bunch of times. It would be a bit confusing if a new player is introduced directly to him and then later encounters him as the honoree. BaBs would have my vote.

I think a lot of MMOs have gone south because they listened too much to what the players wanted.- 132 replies

The game has come a looooong way since this...

There's a bunch of stuff that looks like it could have turned into neat ideas. I wonder what happened to them. The world design stands out for me. Just seeing how the Atlas statue and city hall are situated against each other is so strange. CoH's refined, well considered cityscapes for most zones was one thing I really missed when the game was down. As for the seamless shops, I imagine part of the challenge was modelling interior spaces within exterior models. By creating a transition, players can be warped underneath the map to make those spaces easier to make - the interior spaces don't always need to conform to the exterior. They could also be more easily loaded and unloaded if nobody was occupying them, though I don't know if that's the case. -
Heck Yeah!

I agree with that sentiment. I'd rather see one fleshed out, broad and diverse endgame rather than a perpetually ascending ceiling that we call get narrowly funnelled into. I think Statesman's death and the Praetorian war is a great fulcrum for all the existing villain groups to step up their game and make for a really wide range of stories. The Battalion just sounds... heavy handed?

Dang, that's a handy trick. Thanks! -
The whole thing is kinda outlined on this wiki for this game that I know nothing about other than that Tyrant is in it as Statesman: https://masterxmaster.gamepedia.com/Statesman I guess that last paragraph about Dredgion is talking about whatever game this is from.

These are superb suggestions. The system needs a wide restructure with player engagement in mind. The 'find contact' button is way too eager to send us to First/Night ward, but with a bit of tweaking it could be an excellent feature. I think a resolution to #3 could be that all first introductory contacts appear in the find contact menu. That way they're not appearing in the contacts list, and the list is reserved for contacts we've actually met. #4 is a big deal for me. Praetoria is a big offender here, since the whole range of contacts per alignment are supposed to be in a narrative sequence and we have (afaik) no access to Ouroboros to fill the gaps before moving on. I'd love it if all Praetorian contacts occupied a 1-30 level range. First and Night ward could take the whole 20-40 (maybe 50?) range together so that their entire plot can hold up better rather than us getting popups that send us there halfway through the plot. Just yesterday I wanted to do the Faultline arcs, but Jim Tremblor sent me straight to Doc Delilah, who thanked me for helping her out of the sticky situation and was told by Jim and Penny that I had been useful. Little bits like that really need a clean - there's no clear way to tell players how and when to do these contacts and with double XP it's way too easy to miss bits. And it doesn't need to be.
