  1. I'm rather surprised that Dark Armor is so low on the survey, which is wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong as a ping pong ball. I'm also considering doing a 4-scrapper bracket of the "worst" choices.
  2. Yes, but *I* know that you know that I know that you know that I like unicorns. So you drink from your glass, and I'll drink from mine. I *am* however, rather fond of BA. Pendulum is one of my favorite powers in the game! No real surprises on the survey so far.
  3. That's one way to go, and I've done that before. If you check back to see which bids fill the quickest, you have a better target of things that no one else wants.
  4. It being the 4th of July, I pulled out one of my MERICA! alts, a broadsword/regen brute who I had dinged 50 with a while back. I ran the Mender arc to get my alpha and it was a slog. So I spent a little time actually working on the build. And I discovered something that I am embarrassed that I haven't exploited before: Darkest Night is monstrously overowered. I play almost all scrappers nowadays, so I wasn't familiar with it. But sure as Shipoopi, I'm walking through +4/x8 missions and neither my blue bars or green bars are moving one bit.
  5. I just put this together quickly for a scrapper. No idea how it would play because *I HATE ELEMENTAL SWORDS!!!*
  6. If I were running a GM GM conspiracy, that's exactly what I would say... It's 8 missions via Ouro, then a 9th to finish and exit from. I cannot imagine it would take more than a half hour to run through the first eight on a character who knew what was happening. Maybe I'll set up my idle 50s with this queued up.
  7. I do not know to what you refer, I am sure! The other day I saw someone in ?General? post a reference to that thread. It made my jar-shaking heart grow three sizes.
  8. Interestingly enough, I find this only happens when a spawn has three or more illusionists. Never with Master illusionists. And it usually happens right away, certainly before any of the illusionists can attack more than once (or so it seems). Both Flash and Blind have a chance for higher mag hold, but the odds of three of them hitting me at once at all should be slim, and that only gets them to mag 9 hold. Not worth parsing through combat logs for though; that's what break frees are for.
  9. This is the interesting part!
  10. My supergroup used to do this on Live all the time. I don't think we ever did more than four at a time, but two was pretty standard. It just takes some preparation.
  11. That's almost certainly other players spawning Kronos. You can spawn it in many (but not all!) zones by doing the Crimson arc in Ouro (or through Crimson directly). When you finish the mission that leads up to the ambush, don't hit the exit button but use one of your many teleportation powers to exit into a different zone (Ouro portal works).
  12. I lost my real-life cat buddy Binx last November. He was a good boy!
  13. I'd say farming, either regular or AE tickets. Just like the good old days when I used to go street sweeping in Dark Astoria to get alchemical silver!
  14. I wanted to resurrect this thread because it seems to be getting worse. Fewer people are producing supply, and more people are blaming fictitious causes. If you are bummed out there isn't enough supply, do something about it! I'll help you if I can. But I, personally, have little to gain at this point from spitting out thousands of IOs for a 2mm+ profit each. And furthermore, you're probably better off not instadumping your holdings. But to each their own!
  15. Clearly you just need to level up to 52. Geesh! All this whining!
  16. Deep exhale. There are always arguments about how to best monetize merits. They are a gift from above that rewards you for playing the game. There seems to be a number of approaches. 1. (and vastly popular) Spend merits on an item. Instasell item (offer at 1 inf or 5 inf or whatever). Move on with your life. It's not that difficult to figure out what items are seemingly the most profitable. Converters are a popular choice, since you will generally be able to sell them in mass quantities (frequently to me!). 2. Spend merits on an item. Offer item at a price that does not sell instantly but will sell soon(tm). 3. Spend merits on an item. Transform said item into another more profitable item and sell it, either instantly or soon(tm). 4. Spend merits on an item and *gasp* use it! Then there is the question of how much you want to sell and how quickly. I wouldn't want to dump 10,000 merits worth of unslotters in a day, for example. Personally, my merits go to converters for personal use.
  17. There's all kind of ways you can acquire an ATO. Some are more efficient than others, but if you've got plenty of merits, go ahead and buy it. This is like worrying about tipping a shoeshine a dollar or a hundred dollars if you make a million an hour. This game is very generous and very forgiving.
  18. There's going to be a bit of cut and paste from my last post, but this is an entirely different post with entirely different rewards! Greetings! I've been all scrappers all the time for a bit now, but I have yet to find *THE ONE* that makes me want to play it as my main forever. Maybe it doesn't exist. Or maybe I will find it with your help! Over the next few months, I will test out eight new scrappers. Eight different primaries. Eight different secondaries. There will be a bracket but only one will win. And that one may or may not become *THE ONE* for me. But some of you will earn yourselves some inf along the way if you so choose. I foresee a many-step process: choose eight primaries; choose eight secondaries; create a balanced set of eight characters; create a balanced bracket; level each one to 50; eliminate four; T4 each to alpha; eliminate 2; T4 each to all incarnates; choose a winner. In this thread (part 1B), I ask you for your input on scrapper *SECONDARIES*. Vote for (up to) eight of (in your opinion) your best scrapper secondaries. In return for your input, if you list your global name in the thread, I will send you an email with 50mm inf, no strings attached. Here's your chance to lobby for your favorites! What am *I* looking for? I would like a scrapper that can run +3/x8 content solo at level 49 and +4/x8 at 50, not necessarily at zerg speeds, but not one that has to skip certain enemy groups or downgrade difficulty ratings. I think that's probably a reasonable assumption with just about any scrapper. I prefer active secondaries to set-and-forget secondaries. I'm a button masher at heart. I'm not super fond of mez protection that is not in a toggle. I can work around it though. I don't need to be soft- or hard- capped in things. Good enough is good enough. I'm still a sucker for "non-traditional" stuff. My bio and radiation armor builds are generally full of all kinds of mitigation-causing procs. I prefer as minimal fx as possible for the most part, and any hints or tips to pass on to minimize the mandatory stuff are welcomed! Most importantly, I want to have animations (and sounds, although I usually play muted) that I can stand to play to 50 and beyond. Thank you for your input and thank you for voting. If you want to vote and don't want inf, great! If you want inf and don't want to vote, terrible! But remember, this is not a cheerocracy. I'm not necessarily going to pick the eight popular winners. I will close this poll in a month as well. Happy hunting! EDIT: Tracking payouts here. If you are not on this list and you want to be let me know! @obsinious, @TungstenShark, @Skylancer, @Nemu, @Valnara1, @Dracomicon, (PAID)
  19. Listen, I have to keep score somehow! If at any given moment I am surrounded by the ultimate bestest superheroes that can be made, I need to differentiate myself!
  20. Ok, I'm at level 40 and just started on the Madeline Casey arc. I am indeed occasionally getting held (multiple illusionists hitting at once, I guess) through 9.2 hold protection. About once per mission so far.
  21. I can imagine a scenario that we may have hit a tipping point in terms of some sort of capacity. I'm not saying that's the case, but I can imagine the scenario. If I have 100 alts with 100 market slots each (and that's conservative, and there could be hundreds more people like that), that's 10,000 market slots that I may or may not be doing stuff with. On Live, I don't remember how many total market slots an account could end up with, but it was a small fraction of 10k. We have a markedly smaller population, but a vastly larger ability to put stress on a database (the /AH) that is made out of baling wire and cork. Over 175k Winter Packs have been bought *since they last reseeded*. 250k Hero packs and 200k Rogue packs (assuming they have not been reseeded at any point). I left Live before they came on the scene, so I don't know how many packs were bought or opened during Live. Just a thought.
  22. Well, it's a couple of hundred thousand in short order, then plow that into converters, get to 100mm in a few tens of minutes. No one's getting rich from 50k transactions to get to 100mm. At least I'm not!
  23. Greetings! I've been all scrappers all the time for a bit now, but I have yet to find *THE ONE* that makes me want to play it as my main forever. Maybe it doesn't exist. In this thread (part 1A), I ask you for your input on scrapper primaries. Vote for (up to) eight of (in your opinion) your best scrapper primaries. In return for your input, if you list your global name in the thread, I will send you an email with 50mm inf, no strings attached. Here's your chance to lobby for your favorites! Please note that there are only 20 choices available in a poll, so I did us all a favor by eliminating Kinetic Melee. I like having a good set of attacks, both single target and AoE. I am not a fan of elemental weapon animations, but I can work past that. I am not a fan of attacks that have a flip in the animation, but I can work past that. I would like to be able to reasonably take out any AVs I see by level 50 at the latest. I am not concerned with *top* DPS chains or fastest pylon speeds. Good enough is good enough. I'm a sucker for "non-traditional" things. I like using mitigation techniques. I like putting in untraditional procs that aren't all about damage all the time. I will close this poll in a month, and I will post a poll for the secondaries soon(tm). Happy hunting! EDIT: Here is where I'm keeping the global list for payouts. If you are not on it and you want to be, let me know! @TungstenShark, @Lady Grams, @Errants, @obsinious, @veloice, @valnara1, @nemu, (PAID)
  24. I think you will get a different definition of flipping depending on who you talk to. To me, it means buying something (usually passively) and selling the same item at a higher price. Some people consider it to be actively buying all of an item and then relisting at a higher price (which I would probably term a pump and dump or something similar). An example that I used to use was yellow salvage on new characters. You could buy lots of it at under 1,000 and then I would list it at a few thousand and would usually at least triple my admittedly small stake (hey, they started with zero!) when someone wanted to buy it nao. Right now, there doesn't seem to be a profit in it. For the most part, with converters you are generally better off buying (or making) something that isn't in high demand and transforming it into something that is. Pure flipping is rarely going to make you 100% profits, but there are spots. But I doubt you are going to make 1bn a day (or even a week) on pure flipping.
