I believe it was the poster child for KB until some post-Live change. I know I caught a lot of grief for using it, even in "ideal" conditions like a small crowded room, because it screwed up the AoE players' perfected style. (Everyone else, mostly melee types, appreciated having a dozen foes knocked on their 'toon asses and disoriented, then aggroed on the tank.)

Maybe a chicken-and-egg problem here. A large part of the player base really hates KB, so what better tool to troll with? I just don't team with my main (<-- that guy) any more rather than accidentally Foot Stomp a small room full of foes and get scolded for it.

No argument. But most powers and any player can be an asshat; KB is not unique in that respect. Stalkers and blasters who insist on running ahead to snipe the boss, for example, Or even stone tanks who loudly bitch and call the rest of the team names when they're not allowed to take the star role as aggro anchor. I'll just repeat: I find it sourly amusing that a player force tilted heavily towards farming, and farming tactics in regular missions, never shut up about how awrful KB is. Me, I've found it a wonderful power since Live rolled out. Great fun and very superhero-y.

chuckle chuckle you'd be one of the noobs in my company by over twice that snicker snicker were you even born in the 1980s and those who can't manage yet you had to use asterisks didn't you Seriously... your argument here is as on as odd a tangent as many you post. Is Troo's cute use of 1 color and some italics to build a visual of the exchange really the point here? At all? In any remotely meaningful way?

Driver. Bet you 100M Inf. Go upgrade it directly from the OEM, not the (usually adequate but not always) Windows bundle set. It takes months for all drivers to catch up to a major OS release, even if the current/temp ones "meet all the specs" and "work good enough." That's the real hassle with these upgrades. MS did their job, usually pretty well (and so does Apple)... but there are so many billions of individual devices and peripherals that again-robust drivers cause headaches for a long time.

As a graphics, publication and web designer, I think I'd take exception to that. But I'll just say that if you see a bit of text color and italics as "fancy formatting," we're not likely to ever cross paths anyway, since you appear to be in that category thinking your daughter designed a great logo and your secretary does a fine job with your website. 🙂

I have to say, I find the endless bitching about KB one of the most entertaining aspects of the forum. You'd think States designed it around herd'n'burn and everything else was a mistake.

The "Where's Oswald" badge. Gahh, I hate zipping through PI and getting sniped.

Making the River Rat badge more reliable
Shenanigunner replied to Nerva's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So just like trained dolphins, we have to jump through hoops for that badge? -
Hey, nonsense rants are better when delivered with all the trappings.
-
But, of course, you can fire macros in these binds using the powexecslot command. You just can't do it with a click.
-
Won't/can't. It depends on the parser being able to detect key press and release as separate events. (Which is true of all keypresses; just most disappear into one action.) No way to emulate that with a macro.

Why is Infiltration The Stepchild?
Shenanigunner replied to Aurora_Girl's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It took me a while to sort out the changes to stealth. I find "Stealth now equals Invisibility" and "Infiltration a hodgepodge of lesser stealth and travel powers" to be... somewhere between confusing and obnoxious. I dropped former-Invis-now-Infil for Stealth on all my alts, regardless of the minor bonuses of Infiltration; it makes caves as impossible as when Superspeed is on, for one thing. Concealment should be concealment... not a travel power. And I won't comment on choosing powers to be set mules except to not-say 😜. -
Back on live, I found them a useful place to park my alts. Sort of an animated pedestal.

New Badges for things I was going to do anyway
Shenanigunner replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Not a rumor, not a pitch. Greenlighted for two seasons, JMS in charge, JJ Abrams writing. Impressive cast lined up. I am allowing myself to get this -><- much excited. (I own some original props...) -
New Badges for things I was going to do anyway
Shenanigunner replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
Make it a whole set: rebuild an alt three times and get The ONE who was, the ONE who is and the ONE who will be. -
Not many powers take more than six enhancement types. Just off hand, I'd say most only take three or four.

Pay-2-Win Vendor idea(?): Portable Gull
Shenanigunner replied to Lazarillo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I guess. The whole alignment system pasted on top of the hero/villain divide creates all kinds of traps like this. And there's no reason not to make the alignment menu more accessible; Null always was a crude, pasted-on fix for the need. Wonderfully silly, but still something of a hack. Maybe putting one in each tram station, or police station, or the like wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't really think Gull's options should be part of the regular user menus, though, which is more or less what the OP is requesting. More like leveling/tailor interfaces. That's it. Put a Null in all those locations. Balance achieved. 🙂 -
Can you build around pool powers as main attacks?
Shenanigunner replied to Mashugana's topic in General Discussion
Sorcery would be a better pool if Arcane Bolt was paired with a hyper-speed run power. Yep. Usain Bolt. -
Can you build around pool powers as main attacks?
Shenanigunner replied to Mashugana's topic in General Discussion
I find Arcane Bolt, well slotted, to be a very useful power for my E-blaster. One more slightly slow but very powerful ranged hit, with damage outside the primary power set. I haven't taken too many pool attack powers, though. Most seem... wonky. -
Pay-2-Win Vendor idea(?): Portable Gull
Shenanigunner replied to Lazarillo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Soft no on this... simply because taking less than one minute to pop over to PD and talk to the bird, maybe once a session at most, probably once a week per alt or less, just doesn't seem like a terribly onerous burden. The sum of these requests sometimes seems to be "I want to sit in a bubble in my base and be able to do EVERYTHING. Couch-potato to 50, yeah!" -
Snowmen in Bloody Bay spawn at too low a level.
Shenanigunner replied to cohRock's topic in Bug Reports
The snowmen are a complete disappointment; not sure if it's a new fault/bug but I seem to remember they spawned zone-level appropriate in most prior years. All of my alts, across the levels, get gray snowmen unless they SURPRISE! get purples. -
The only alt that drives me crazy is my Kheldian Dwarf. It sounds like a Transformer badly in need of some body work. I may hack the sound file on that one someday. Hilarity ensues, though, when you put a Dwarf in Walk mode. Try it. "RATTLEBOOM.........RATTLEBOOM........RATTLEBOOM"
