  1. Pretty much this.
  2. A YUP. I can NOW say that I'm looking forward to the buffs to the other pools or if they intend to create new ones. 🙂
  3. On some builds the concealment pool DOES get me excited.I have the concealment pool on several of my characters that I focus on recharge over defense. I use the pool as LOTG Recharge mules.
  4. I and many others find Ouro very unwieldy. Which is why I hardly ever exemp to run old story arcs.
  5. I think the OPs idea might be easier to implement, but I would not be opposed to either his or the one quoted above.
  6. ... in a drawer of an old file cabinet I was about to move out front for the trash men. Luckily I looked. Brings back memories.
  7. For building a character. Goes back to the idea that pools (origin or otherwise) need to NOT suck compared to other primary/secondary powers or other pool powers. They don't need to be overpowered (and surely not equal to every primary/sec power), but if I look at them, and look at another power, then look back at the origin/pool power and go "nahhhh" SOME improvement IS needed. EDIT: The more we have good powers across the pri/secs, pool, epic pools, and origin pools the more we have to make hard choices for builds. That leads to MORE build diversity, not less.
  8. Hi, I just leveled up my 40th level 50 last night. If HC didn't exist I would not have been able to. It was my biggest pleasure in my adult life to learn that the game I love returned. So despite all the passionate disagreements in various threads in this community, of the last few weeks I have one think to say to the HC devs: Thank You THANK YOU THANK YOU For bringing back the game we all love. Despite what we might say from time to time we truly appreciate your efforts. That is all. (Carry on with the usual forums argume--errr, discussions. 😛 )
  9. If the idea that origin pools were created for theme and there is an expectation that only those folks who pick that theme will want those powers no matter how lackluster they are, then I'd rather they not create any further origin pools and just create generic ones that work with any theme. It will just be a waste of time.
  10. The way mez works, what difficulty means, the way you can outlevel missions.
  11. It will be an interesting tight rope for the HC devs to walk indeed.
  12. The way it functions, it functions as an inf sink. I'd rather they not get rid of one of the few inf sinks we have in the economy, and I'd rather they just outright fix the AH bugs and display issues.
  13. Overall your post was good, but I disagree with the bolded. Introducing more options is directly giving folks what they want without invalidating the game as is for those who like it as is. More difficult content is needed as much as more options for the notoriety system are.
  14. I'd be fine with this honestly. 🙂
  15. The problem here is there are two very different visions of what COH is and should be. At one point or another the devs are going to have to take a stand on it as we move forward. I'm not sure there is anyway they can get around this. As for the binary mez system, yeah I . . . don't know what to say about that. Except the following: Should mez matter in the game? Or shouldn't it? If the answer is it should, then some would argue it should matter for EVERYONE, equally. I'm not sure I agree with that argument, but changing it at this point would be a changing a fundamental design philosophy that makes the game what it is, as you say. I guess the question I would have for the original COH devs if they were available is: (Though I agree that it may not be fair to expect the HC devs, or the devs of ANY other sever for that matter, to answer that.) Why is it okay that some ATs have to worry about mez, and some pretty much don't?
  16. /shurg. I'm not seeing this as a major issue since most respecs don't fail. I don't think I've ever had one fail in all my time (including 5+ years on live) in COH.
  17. Whereas on COH you can be anything and not run into the bolded issue above. The same issue happens on the more modern FFXIV. Tanks and healers get the LFG pop to pop massively fast. DPS waits. Sometimes 30 minutes or more. Thankfully COH doesn't have that issue.
  18. I . . . completely forgot that pvp is a thing here. (I don't mean that in a derogatory way). I haven't step foot in any of the zones since the game shut down. Though I used to spend quite some time there when I got tired of the Incarnate grind. HC making that grind non-exist meant I was about to Incarnate out nearly all my toons at my pace, and hence my need to use PVP to break up the monotony went away.
  19. The funny thing is that every single COH server allows you to softcap, even the ones where the easier changes like VET levels giving you emps and threads, don't exist. I'm yet to find even one where softcapping was removed. That tells me something about what what many COH players prefer. They like where COH is as a game. Call it broken or not but folks wouldn't be here playing this decade old game, if they didn't find it fun. You know fun . . . what a game is supposed to be? I think in all these argument threads, that's something that both sides fail to accept: what's fun for you may certainly may not be fun for me. (I'm also guilty as charged in forgetting that sometimes.) People know it's broken and . . . don't care. When they stop having fun, then they'll care. For example you may find teams that are dead quiet and don't say anything fun and relaxing after a long day. I may want banter. Both are fun and equally valid. It's why I always advocate for options to make the game harder for those folks that want that. They can turn them on and lead their own teams, with like minded folks.
  20. Pretty much this. Especially since it's not a problem that happens all the time. Not worth wasting the dev time. Now if the respec failed AND BROKE A CHARACTER so you couldn't log into it ever again, that would be a different story and THEN worthy of the Dev/QA time.
  21. I'd prefer if the GM team tells players to try things they know may then make sure the next attempt at a respec doesn't fail. "Try these steps and see if they work" sounds reasonable enough.
  22. I could live with this.
  23. I pretty much pop pills (insp) to avoid the idiocy of the rage crash., whenever I see it coming. If SS was better without Rage, I'd ALWAYS skip Rage. Also yeah I don't take anything that has a crash. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. The nukes used to be pretty much not taken at all, as per the Paragon Studios live devs. Hence why the crashes were removed from the nukes.
  24. I guess Khalista Wharf comes closest to that same aesthetic . 🙂
