Yeah no. The merit / Converter system was one of the key improvements over live. Completely and vehemently DISAGREE with this suggestion.

At higher difficulty levels that players can OPTIONALLY choose? Sure.

The way to do that is to build optional difficulty that anyone can take on while leaving the base game as is. Something I think you alluded to earlier.

I expect it would take several years. I'm fine with that. Also I personally wouldn't care if the new difficulty settings didn't offer rewards, but in past discussions multiple people have said it should be part of the deal. /shrug.- 53 replies

I would say maybe at certain levels have those mobs show up. Like in level 40-50 range. But not in the 1-40 range.

You sir make very good points. For me new mechanics would be more fun than just "moar numbers to keep up with player builds". It's part of what I expect each time I ask for new content.

Agreed. More usual than not lately when I PUG, I'm barely seeing any real support sets. Only time I see them is if I bring one or I actively form a team and look for some. Also I don't assume that I'm going to get a lot of support sets as team mates, when I team nowadays, I assume the exact opposite, especially with how complicated some of them are to play. Also there are a lot of support sets I've run into that DO NOT have maneuvers lately. I'm not sure what that's about. More likely than not they have Tactics instead. I'd be interested to see the devs data mine how often specific powers in the Leadership pool are taken nowadays.

I think a discussion about identifying the actual dev-stated problem with procs, fits in with the thread. Granted it's not going change what the devs decide to do, even if you identify the problems. But it adds to the discussion for those who have not been paying attention to the proc discussions of previous. (/raises hand). The discussion about Powerhouse's thoughts on it helped.

I actually prefer fighting games over mmo pvp for many many reasons. It's one of the reasons I haven't stepped into zone pvp since HC came online. If I want to pvp there are better games than COH for it, that have been released since COH live shutdown. -
FFXIV Online interestingly gives you an arc where you simply get the ability to permanently breath underwater by magic. From then on any underwater mission I've seen after that has no limit on how long you can swim underwater. So much so that there are many missions where you hunt for collectables underwater for waaaaay long that should be possible if it were real life. or in other games like WoW where they still have the "breath" bar. I think it's the only game that does that. Even in the Witcher 3 I think you need to come up for air.

Interestingly in the first episode of Loki there is a line that alludes to this. It was/is a cool callout to those paying attention. I'll leave it there to avoid spoilers for those who intend to eventually watch the Disney+ series.

As much as I argue about not making the base game harder, I'm also against things like this that make it any easier. Especially since there is no difficulty option that would put back the difficulty lost if suggestions like this go through. Of all the sets out there Invul is the least that needs a buff of any kind.

Errr If you want to change it you have to show why it show to the devs why it should be changed. Like it or not they are sticking to the original plan of them being origin pools. And based on responses on this thread I think many players agree with that thematic idea. The burden of proof here is to on you if you're suggesting it be changed. Which I thought you were?

Yeah no. I'd like to keep my defenders and corrupters separate. I think it's a dumb idea. Straight up. And you'd never get the playbase to ever agree to this.

Meh I hate RNG. I simply don't use the Proc system. I find it annoying after having tried it and finding the whole thing completely unappealing. Which is why I stick with corrupters over defenders 90% of the time.
