  1. They would still jump on farms for cash.
  2. People would still farm to get inf to make enhancements. So no, it wouldn't cut out farming.
  3. I like the thoughtful approach to this game that HC continues to take. Thanks team! 🙂
  4. When I pvp'd heavily on live it was in the zones. I avoided arena after trying it a few times, as there were too many rules. (Ban's, what can be run, show up for practice at a set time). I just didn't have the time for that and did not enjoy many powers I enjoyed in pve, being a "no no" in pvp. So I stuck to zone.
  5. I don't find redside fun. That's why I don't play it.
  6. Once again you and I are going to have to agree to disagree. Saying a game is simple or can be played mindlessly is not a chastisement or insult. There are many million dollar games on the market that are just that. I'd argue the Devs (based on comments at the time and after the game shut down) DID intend of CoH to be simple, compared to what else was out there at the time. It wasn't till the IO system that real complexity got added to the game. FFXIV has many more complex encounters than this game. That's not a bad thing or indictment of COH. Sometimes you want simple gameplay, or games you can come back to that you don't need to spend a lot of time relearning if you haven't played them in years. COH is simple and uncomplex enough (aka what I'd consider it fun for) that when HC went live I didn't need to spend months re-learning it. I can't say the same about FFXIV when I take long breaks and haven't played some of the raid-level encounters in weeks. YMMV.
  7. I didn't even realize there were this many procs in the game! (the fact that there are means the IO system is much more interesting than I even first thought) WOW 😮
  8. I play both this game and FFXIV. When I want to have fun just mindless running through mobs and living out the superhero power fantasy (especially after a long day of IT QA, where you most assuredly CANNOT do things mindlessly), I come here. When I want a more modern mmo approach (where I have to move in certain ways to avoid certain bad actions --pre-moving or moving just in time or pattern versus the "yellow" markings on the floor that indicate a big bosses major attack is about to land; or do a series of actions to end an encounter faster--for instance BLM rotation to get max dps) I play FFXIV. Sometimes you want the fun of complexity (FFXIV / WoW encounters). Sometimes you want the fun of simplicity. (COH / Genshin Impact) EDIT: For those who don't know BLM, is Black Mage in FFXIV (arguably the job with the highest potential dps in the game), and there are certain rotations you have to get down (with appropriate level of spell speed) to maximize the dps that BLM can do. Thankfully there are no dps meters unlike WoW, so you have much room to learn without folks yelling at you when you get it wrong :p)
  9. I'd be careful in trying to boil things that deal with actual human emotion down to a metric. I don't think that was the point of the thread.
  10. To make tweaks and additions based on feedback from pvpers, sure. I think the objection is to an open world server, which I think we all agree would be waste of time.
  11. No thanks. I'm having fun on blueside. 🙂 But you guys have fun over there.
  12. Hmmm, Ion does a chain. Wouldn't that delay that chain even further? Also keep in mind, not every Judgement is throw, there are some that are point blank (unless my memory is off). I like that not all of them are ones that are thrown. How would your idea affect those types? (or that type, I forget if there is only one). Personally a power described like that with patches wouldn't really interest me as a power pick, especially with how much movement there is in gameplay currently. But others might like that /shrug If I were redesigning it, I would have made all the judgements ONE. One that you can customize with various effects that are currently spread across all the multiple judgements, at a cost of damage, recharge, range. (Similar to the idea discussed a few days ago in one of the suggestion threads). For example I would not mind a judgment that has a long non-stacking hold effect on an AV or GM, at the expense of damage. Aka a guaranteed insta hold on an AV for a set amount of time. (The amount of time would NEED to be significant if the power had no damage).
  13. Up the recharge and make it hit harder when it's up. I think that (besides making judgement customizable at the expense of it's power, aka I can add effects to it in exchange for it's recharge) is the only nerf I could get behind.
  14. I didn't. In the past I would not have ever touched a Tanker. I found them stupendously boring to play. Now I do have a few. When I want to act as a traditional tank role I play a tank. When I want to beat things down I play a Brute. Do I think they were overbuffed? Maybe, maybe not. I just find I play Tanks more now than before. I think that's a good thing.
  15. They can do it with better IOs for KB--> KD. KB is a part of the game. EDIT: See this great suggestion.
  16. Meh, we have merits and AE tickets. If yellow and whites stopped dropping today, the devs could just put them as low cost rewards in those stores.
  17. And then you have folks like me who don't sell any salvage on the market unless it's orange. I don't have time to waste on posting yellow and white items on the AH, especially with it's terrible interface. I consider yellow and white salvage vendor trash and treat it as such. MAAAAAYBE if the AH's interface were less painful to use I would contribute to the yellow and white salvage market, but with how little inf you can get for them . . . I doubt it.
  18. Meh, market pvp is a bit weak when you have converters, merits and what the AE gives you. You really can completely avoid the market for some things. Or just bid patiently and wait. I think the OP exaggerates the issue.
  19. Interesting thought experiment. It wouldn't be popular enough to justify it's cost in terms of development time and resources.
  20. I'm behind new and better IO sets that include a KB to KD IO. I'm not behind (and never will be) a global switch.
  21. I can get behind new IO Sets. Good job. 🙂
  22. KB is fine as is. We have IOs to deal with it, for anyone who does not like it.
  23. I don't think KB is an issue, so I DO NOT agree that it's a problem. I've teamed with plenty of folks over the years that have used KB correctly and as a great mitigation tool. So without saying, I agree with the HC devs expressed view on it. The KB>KD IO imo is good enough.
  24. Because there is only so many times that you can do the same quest or story line over and over again. Keep in mind many of us have done then 10+ times on live. We're not going to do it again just to try new alts (or pvp). EDIT: The low level content is in desperate need of a revamp (especially blue side). Some of it is terribly rewritten compared to the more moderns stuff created later in COH's life.
  25. Yeah I think control would need something to make it less binary and more "active". As a kin I definably DO NOT feel useless as a support. lol In fact my fingers struggle after a few hours. Not feeling useful as Control is a problem with the game not treating control well at all, as a gameplay element.
