  1. In the past, I would have said to try running those support types with mid-level teams instead of high-level groups. That's the point in the game where you're still needed, and it's what I used to do with my defenders and controllers and such. I even designed their builds in some cases around that idea. ... And then people started grumping about how much they hated having exemp-ed level 50s on their mid- and low-level teams, and how those of us playing that way were ruining their game. So, I don't do that anymore and have stopped recommending that anyone else try it. I shelved my support characters, and pretty much only run them with the family SG these days. If you can find a group of lower-level people like that, who are willing to put up with you "wrecking their leveling experience" with your support character, it's still fun, though. And you'll definitely feel more useful than you would running with a level 50 PUG.
  2. Grey Kestrel nods and says, "Damn straight. There's a *reason* the Revenant Guardian project doesn't show up as a line-item in the R&D budget anymore... 'Pretty hard to finance a clandestine research facility when the place is a burned-out ruin and the staff are all feeding the Natterlings. 'Wonder how THAT happened..."
  3. She's a legacy Midnighter, a Paragon University student and an Oranbegan death mage's mortal apprentice. See that "Kai's Diary" link in my sig? Yeah... That's hers. 😆 I *also* have a revised version of my old main from the Liberty days here on Homecoming... This Grey Kestrel is a scrapper rather than a stalker, but otherwise is the same old Kes. Ridiculously loyal to Scir. Has a perma-summoned Adept partner. Very snarky, prone to solving problems with her swords and generally your typical Rogue-who's-better-at-heart-than-she'll-ever-admit.
  4. If they're hanging around a public space, they have to expect "the public" to come and go around them... Like Grey said, imagine a group of friends meeting at a restaurant. That doesn't mean they need to let "the public" into their session, though. How many of us would appreciate some stranger barging uninvited into our conversation at that restaurant? How many strangers would look at the table of chatting friends and think "Oh! A conversation! I should totally 'put myself Out There' and join in! It'll be GREAT-"? So, I'd say it's one of those situations where they should get to do their own thing in peace... while also letting other people go about their own business, just like we do in public spaces out here in the Real World.
  5. Tossed some kibbles at the server hamsters on the Wolfepack's behalf.
  6. When Longbow just isn't quite morally questionable enough for your purposes,,,
  7. And you think I would want that... or consider that a good idea... why? I'm not one of the people grumping constantly about how the City is an easy-mode baby-game. I'm the one who runs around with a family SG made of relative newbies who are doing well to handle current EBs without dying regularly or running away and accidentally aggroing four other groups in their efforts to play Brave Sir Robin. 😝
  8. I can't say jack about her power level.... The character, to put it bluntly, is about as developed as an unexposed Polaroid. That was just the plan mentioned by the old game devs in one of the post-shutdown Lore AMAs.
  9. A few of my characters really hate that guy. (Ask anyone on the RP channel what Kai thinks of the Envoy. Her assessment is... very colorful, let's say. 😅 ) For me, it really depends heavily on the specific character and the specific EB. Some of them are much harder than others, and some are much more difficult to overcome with particular ATs or power sets than the average. Others are trivial with a duo or trio and less so for a solo. And *that* makes things complicated. Because it means that you can't just give EBs-as-a-class a big buff across the board without making some of them impossible for some characters. And it may not be the SAME EBs for everyone that suddenly become roadblocks.
  10. *dances around singing something about a dead man's party*
  11. The Cross-Phase Elysion, my Crey Science Projects: Name: Grey Kestrel Character Type: Dual Blade/Willpower Scrapper Server: Everlasting Level: 50 Alignment: Hero (For purposes of practicality only. By nature, Kes is more of a Rogue.) Classification: Elysion Guardian (Sort-of, anyway. Kes is a lab-produced dark/bright "hybrid".) Group: Ordus Viatoris The Details: A Scrapper re-build of my old Stalker main from the Liberty days, complete with her perma-summoned Adept partner Red Cardinal. She's too complicated a character, with too long a history, to sum up easily in a short biographical blurb. (on @Laughingcrow) Name: Skyrunner Character Type: Dual Blade/Willpower Scrapper Server: Everlasting Level: 50 Alignment: Hero Classification: Elysion Guardian (Sort-of. Like Kestrel, Sky is a Crey-produced artificial hybrid.) Group: Ordus Viatoris The Details: The *other* artificial dark/bright Elysion hybrid created as part of Crey's Shard-based Revenant Guardian project, Sky was the first "proof of concept" creature created by the project's scientists. A few mistakes were made in his design that were later corrected in Grey Kestrel's genetic profile. Unfortunately for the project and its staff, Sky's more even temper and more compliant, predictable nature were among the traits they sacrificed to gain his sister's heightened aggression and territoriality.
  12. I've... sort of embraced being The Root of All Evil? I've made peace with the idea of being thought of as a completely OMGBADWRONGPLAYER. I mean, between being an unapologetic farmer, a mostly solo/small-team player, someone who *isn't* wearing nostalgia-goggles for The-Way-Things-Were back in the single-digit issue days... on top of being a former SCoRE player... I've basically got something for almost everyone to hate. So I may as well just say "Yep! I'm the one who's Ruining Your Game!!!!" and roll with it. 😝
  13. As someone who's in the process of leveling a Controller on nothing but SOs... This is true.
  14. *tabletop gamer fist-bump* 'Currently playing (and occasionally running) 13th Age, here. And White Plume Mountain was excellent fun. I've run that one at cons as a pick-up game a few times, since it's one of THE classic old-school dungeon-crawls. My intro to tabletop was "black box" Traveller, though, not fantasy. Which probably gives you an idea how old I am and how long I've been tossing around dice. 👍 That said... I think there are enough differences between tabletop games and video games that comparing the "intended playstyles" and potential repeatability in each of the two is more like apples-and-oranges than peaches-and-apricots.
  15. I now own Hieronymus Squash... He's a Plant Controller with a weird sense of humor and a talent for painting questionable scenes. And when the Halloween special Aether costumes come along... he's going to get his "real" costume. He's a Fir Bolg.
  16. I.... may spend an absolutely ridiculous amount of time in the costume creator. 😅 My magi all start with pretty standard, straight-forward Oranbegan armored costumes, but I spend a fair bit of time tinkering with the colors for my "non-canon" types that don't have NPC analogues. *Everybody* gets the colors of their powers tinkered with. I never leave power colors default, though the changes are more subtle on some than others.
  17. Most likely, In beta, the repeatables were level-locked at +4 until some of us who were testing them pointed out that not everyone likely to run the things would have their full set of iToys and level additions,
  18. That would be fun... My mages are for it. They need bling!
  19. *sings something about Wailers on the moon*
  20. Tya the Geomancer looks up from the green crystal she's reshaping and shakes her head. "Don't look at me. I just sunk our own city. The rest of the place was already jacked up when we found it."
  21. I did post a lot of screenshots... Some things never change. 😆
  22. Additional complication with Scir's SSA... It would have removed him as a contact in-game. (Red Widow IIRC was slated to take his place-), So, not only would they have to finish the SSA arcs for both sides, they would ALSO have to build a set of Patron arcs for Red.
  23. Faathim would be a better pick for Atlas... I can imagine looking after all the lowbies would be his thing more than any of the other aspects,
  24. *nods* I have a Cold/Ice Defender who was designed specifically for MSRs. With his AOEs, it's very, very easy for him to get that "little bit of damage" on Every.Single.Rikti. that shows up anywhere near the bowl. Yep... For all practical purposes, he's a V-Merit farmer. Although no one has ever looked at Circios and said "OMG! It's Old McDonald in mittens!" 😆
