  1. You're assuming that I don't. I have blasters. I enjoy them. But... I *also* enjoy my Sentinels. They're slower, yes, but still fun in their own way. Having a fair bit of experience actually playing Sentinels, I'm in the camp that says they need some fairly limited tweaks. The primary sets all definitely need a damage pass. AR needs a more extensive rework. The inherent power would probably work just fine as a toggle rather than a click tied to specific attacks. I don't think they need anything more radical than that.
  2. I have yet to see anyone say Sentinels are perfect as-is... What we tend to disagree on is the degree of change needed and what direction to take.
  3. I'm betting it's that the bats aura and cobweb wings are already unlocked in the costume creator for everyone, making it silly to have them as Haunted House rewards?
  4. That was added fairly late in the Live days, IIRC... It's not a thing that was possible for years back-in-the-day or anything like that, so I have no trouble believing that there are people who don't know about it.
  5. So, purely on a whim... I decided to take a second shot at the "random character generator".... My first character (an Archery/Time Corruptor) worked out really well, so I figured why not? A few dice rolls with my trusty Chessex Blue Scarabs later and fate had assigned me an Ice/Dark Blaster. Which is going to be all sorts of weird to play, I suspect, but potentially interesting. I went over to the Names thread and claimed "Twilight Silver", another random dice roll told me that the character was a gal, and off to the character creator we went. She's got nothing for a background yet, and I have no clue which of my little circles of magi I'm going to put her in... But at Mighty Level 5 it doesn't really matter yet. (ETA: It turns out she's also something of a Unicorn. The "how many are there"-thread tells me that as-of March, there were only 9 Ice/Dark Blasters at 50.)
  6. And I claimed Twilight Silver for my new "random roll" Blaster...
  7. I'd like to be able to perch on top of the blimp in Atlas Park.
  8. I actually leveled my main fire-farmer outside of AE... I just dual-boxed him with Semnai, my favorite non-farming brute, as I ran her through regular scanners, tip missions and some of the PI mission arcs. She runs solo at +4/x8, so it didn't take all that long to get Harry to 50 as a tag-along, or to do his Incarnate unlocks. It was only a couple of weeks of fairly casual play, as I recall... If I'd been pushing things, I could have done it faster I'm sure, but as it was, it took me a lot longer to plan Harry's build and gather all of the bits and pieces I needed for that (He has one of the most expensive builds of any character in my entire crew, by quite a lot-) than it took to level him.
  9. I'd say "A swarm of small changes and a few larger ones... Some of which were seriously needed (Titan adjustments, I'm looking at you-) and many of which honestly seem more like solutions in search of a problem."
  10. Considering it would have to have a way to detect rather that character did it alone or with a team or league? It wouldn't be simple, I suspect. Not with the mess that is the City's code.
  11. Also, it would have to take team size into account. Not every character with Incarnate powers is capable of soloing an AV or GM... Even a duo or trio might not be able to, depending on the sets, builds and ATs of the characters. Not every single Incarnate out there is a game-stomping over-geared god.
  12. My main, Kaikara, in her hero-side "White Thorn" guise... showing a Capebook follower how she manages to keep that white Oranbegan armor clean in spite of barfing zombies, trudges through the sewer and way too much time spent getting gassed by Rikti monkeys.
  13. There's probably one goon left in some far-flung hidden corner, or even with bugged placement that put them outside the map geometry somewhere. The "show me where the last goon/glowie is" map function isn't always reliable, either, unfortunately.
  14. Oh, my "finished" ones definitely still get played. The support types even get played most-often on not-nearly-50-yet teams. XD
  15. "Done" for me is having their completed set-IO build and at least T3s for each of their iToys. (I'll build them T4 iPowers if they happen to get VR salvage drops at some point, but I aim for T3s, which are plenty good enough for the way I play otherwise. Most of my gang end up with a mix of T3 and T4 powers as a result... Only the very lucky or the very favored get across-the-board T4s.) I'm not a badger here... I had more than enough of that back-in-the-day... so badge totals and day jobs and all that never come into it.
  16. A good pick. That duet is just gorgeous...
  17. Dude... I like opera. Do you honestly think the people I'm playing with, generally speaking, want to listen to me blaring Cosi Fan Tutte while we're kicking Romulus' butt?
  18. I'm at the complete opposite end of the spectrum... I have 47 characters now, counting the two fire farmers on my secondary account. Snickerdoodles, my little black cat-girl Stalker over on Torchbearer, is the only one of the gang who isn't a finished, equipped and Incarnated 50. So... I have something in the neighborhood of a 95% completion rate? And since Snickers is closing in on 40 now, it won't be all that long before it's 100%. 😄 And yes. Finishing them all is important to me. If I'm going to keep a character, it bothers me to leave them incomplete. That said, aside from a pair of level one "mules" I made to hold specific recipes... Characters who'll probably never actually be played... I haven't added anyone new to my lists in a couple of months. I've pretty much tried everything I was interested in at this point. I don't want or need any more alts. I guess that counts as "slowing down"? Given the way I tend to concentrate on one character at a time, finishing them before I make the next, I suspect it's close enough.
  19. I'd love to have some of the hair options that my Aion characters have ported over to the City.... And my Songweaver and Templar's gorgeous wing models. (Talissan has the Ancients wings, while Qinn has the Noble Pernon set.)
  20. I have a habit of talking to my characters. XD "Oh, come ON Dorian! I told you to target_next_nearest. That guy WAY OVER THERE is *not* the nearest goon... He's on the far side of nowhere. And... Yeah. Look at that. Way out of range. Go figure. And now instead of chasing him you're stuck on a crate. Brilliant dude. Juust brilliant."
  21. Even if we had solid ideas about what they were meant to do, a very vocal minority here on Homecoming would have absolute running duck FITS if any more iPowers were ever released.... They're Very Concerned about power-creep, and seem convinced that the current set have managed to "ruin the game". Adding even more powers would just be dire to someone with that point of view.
  22. I love a good smash-fest and leading a team like that isn't all that stressful, I've found. It's just straight-up fun... It's like tossing a wrecking ball into a china shop. You don't have to be a micromanager or a cat-herder. Everyone knows what they're there to do, so as the leader you pretty much just pick the door, get everybody who wants in on-board and then giggle as the chaos and destruction unfolds. If you're lucky, the team will be chatty and prone to terrible puns. XD
  23. To each their own and all that... and you may have some amount of luck... but I honestly doubt that you're ever going to make PvP the "*IT* Thing" in City of Heroes. It's just not that kind of game and it doesn't have that kind of player culture.
  24. Clown-summoning Mastermind set... and Carp Melee for Stalkers. Where-in you sneak up on people and slap them with a dead fish.
  25. Run newspaper missions until you get a Mayhem mission (Red side version of the hero side's safe-guards). After you've done the Mayhem, your broker should give you a new contact. It may take a few tries to get the one you want, but IIRC almost all of them will eventually come up that way.
