If the current pattern holds true, the Live Patch is likely to hit in one or two weeks. Barring a disaster of some sort, that's my prediction, at least.

Animals! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23794-november-21st-animal-themed-costume-contest/ All the winners on Everlasting were mammals. -
No. It just hit Release Candidate 2, though, and the messages from Jimmy in the Beta forum seem to imply that they're largely done with feedback, and just looking for a little more bug-tracking.

I've never understood why people seem to think that communication is democracy. I've never asked for a democratic process. I've advocated for transparency.
-
The feedback process is very difficult and confusing when it's a one-way street. The Devs say that they read all the feedback and posts. Ok. Though without engagement, it's a bit hard to grasp that as true sometimes. And when a particular change seems to be moving forward despite protests, it becomes especially difficult and confusing. For example; the changes to the /enterbase had a pretty good demonstration of the Devs listening to the feedback. From what I could see (and, acknowledging a very limited point of view that I have), the changes to Touch of Fear did -not- seem to have much communication in regard to the feedback. As ever, the Devs are human. They're volunteers. They have limited time. It would just be more helpful to know what their intentions are to provide meaningful feedback. So I completely understand why players are rather upset with the Touch of Fear changes right now.

Given Everlasting's roleplay status, what sort of narrative components do you offer for this Group? Would there be Villain members, or do we need to establish a secondary Group for that?

eh. I wouldn't be interested in the extra Enhancement Slots at all if they were linked only to Incarnate stuff. But that's a "just me" problem. If that's ultimately how such a reward works, I'll be irked, but not surprised. Like I say in other threads and at the beginning of this one: I want to see multiple avenues to unlocking stuff. So, as a random out-my-ass example: - Incarnate content is currently a level 50 thing. That's one avenue. - Theoretical suggestion: Grind out 500 Defeats of Boss-rank Enemies for each enemy faction, and complete a particularly challenging story arc while solo. That's another. - Theoretical suggestion: Spend 2 Billion Inf per Incarnate Slot unlocked prior to Level 50. That's a third avenue. I would be very pleased to see that.
-
If you mean Enhancement Storage, hell yes! If you mean in Powers for Slotting purposes: I'm sure the "game balance" arguments will be against that, but I'd be cool with being able to unlock Enhancement Slots either earlier by grinding for it, or in addition to the current max, but would want it to be an any-level sort of thing in either case.

Is beautiful and hilarious.

With a little help from a mysterious stranger, I was pointed toward something I actually already knew about, but forgot: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23372-focused-feedback-travel-updates-base-teleportation-long-range-teleporter-accolade-special-tp-powers/page/38/?tab=comments#comment-290109 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23372-focused-feedback-travel-updates-base-teleportation-long-range-teleporter-accolade-special-tp-powers/page/40/?tab=comments#comment-291526 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23372-focused-feedback-travel-updates-base-teleportation-long-range-teleporter-accolade-special-tp-powers/page/41/?tab=comments#comment-291700

Post your best costume designs here!
CrudeVileTerror replied to ChanelNo2's topic in Art & Multimedia
The pants (or lack thereof) is what makes that one a win, @Player2. -
Maybe. *sniffs* Maybe. I have yet to meet one who can outsmarrr- er, wrong direction. Ahem! Maybe this is the first step toward Ambitions ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19762-new-redside-content-ambitions/ ) / Agendas ( https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/24156-being-a-villain/ )? If so, I'd DEFINITELY like to know, so that we're not collectively and pointlessly banging our heads against a wall if -do- try to work on that project together.

As usual, I don't like to speak for everyone, but from the get-go of these discussions, it's always the costumes bit that people seem to get hung up on, on both "sides." - (Re)Locking standard costume parts as rewards would be a move which would spark significantly massive outcry. - New / Special costume parts as rewards would spark plenty of outcry too. - NPC costume parts as rewards seem to be "okay" by many people's estimations, but those of us who have had previous experiences with locked costume pieces being an issue empathize with players who would probably find that problematic too (has @Purrfekshawn commented in this thread yet?). - Badges aren't "good enough" for some players as a reward. - Many players (including those that don't want costume pieces used as rewards!) agree that the game isn't providing enough in-game incentives/rewards for some content (Levels 1 to 44, looking at you!). Do any of these points sound incorrect? Did I get anything blatantly wrong? If it's all accurate, may we move on and just agree that "costumes as rewards are not the path forward. OTHER rewards need to be added / addressed," please?

Seasonal Events - Stay at Home Orders
CrudeVileTerror replied to Troo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not to be a naysayer, but I'mma hope that the content in Beta gets thoroughly tested prior to release, even if it might help people relax during this stressful time. I encourage those who don't feel that they can wait to please go ahead and explore that content on the Beta Shard, and that way their exploration can also potentially yield positive benefits for the whole community through feedback! -
Well, I would like @Ultimo and @TalynDerre to also sound off, just so we're not stepping on anyone's toes and working as a team if possible, but if everyone is up for it, then I can create a Club here in the forums, and we can tackle it from there.

Well . . . before an idea is implemented, it needs to be designed. And that's where we can work together! I mean, I don't know if the Devs are even remotely receptive to this idea, or any of the others along a similar vein, and it's absolutely disheartening to work on something only to be told "we never wanted that in the first place," But! We can at least put together a first draft design document to try and sweeten the pot a little.

Make Traps' FFG Permanent Without Resummoning
CrudeVileTerror replied to Katharos's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'd say if they can't give us something better than Time Bomb/Detonator, then yes. Force Field Generator could be made permanent. But, whether wisdom or folly, the original Devs -did- make Force Field Generator temporary as part of the Traps Set's "balance." More of an inconvenience than a true flaw, in my opinion, but I think it might be an upward battle to do the necessary convincing that the Traps Set deserves both a Quality of Life improvement AND a better Tier 9. I won't argue against that happening, mind you. -
Thoughts on the evolution of the Rogue Isles
CrudeVileTerror replied to Darmian's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Oh. I meant -after- that. Because . . . well . . . personal first-hand experience tells me so. -
Ok, so, my eyes glazed over a bit in places when people started arguing about one another's levels of respect, so I apologize if I missed it, but . . . . maybe this is worth stating, expanding from @EmmySky's message: Some players feel that cosmetics are not part of gameplay. Some players feel that cosmetics are rewards for gameplay. Some players feel the entire game -is- the cosmetics (and player agency, et cetera). While these three statements are true, we're going to have to look in COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS to find compromises. So, @Solarverse, what other directions would you find rewarding?
-
Lots and lots of good and thoughtful ideas in this thread. Anyone want to drag some Devs in here?
-
I see no evidence of that. After all, I sure there's some kind of unwritten rule that everything on the internet is false, right?

Focused Feedback: Other Powers Changes
CrudeVileTerror replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I think @Jacke has summed up my feelings regarding the Touch of Fear changes fairly well. Thanks for that, Jacke! Although, an idea crops up . . . I was -going- to say "it's starting to look like Dark Melee is cursed!" as a bit of a joke about the efforts to buff its damage. If the Devs are willing to revert the Touch of Fear changes, and put the set back on the burner again for a little more time to cook, I think the magic word can be: Cursed! I know. I know. New game mechanics are unpopular and fly in the face of The Cottage. But if -any- Set should be cursing targets, wouldn't it be Dark Melee? Just spitballing (again, assuming the Devs are willing to revert Dark Melee again for additional time to explore alternatives), but . . . Leave Touch of Fear as-is for Single-Target Fear, but grant it an AoE "Curse" Effect which will flag enemies around the Fear'd target. Cursed Targets have a standard fare To-Hit Debuff applied to them. If the player then uses another Dark Melee AoE (Shadow Maul, Dark Consumption, Soul Drain), then all Cursed targets lose the Cursed status (and associated To-Hit Debuff) and take additional Damage (bringing up the total DPA/DPS to roughly the same place you're currently looking for). This way we can preserve the use of Touch of Fear as a strong mitigation tool for the players who use it right now, while offering the -option- to players who want to score more Damage. Alternatively, we can get really creative, and have the Cursed targets do all kinds of other things. -
