  1. and now they're not! I suspect we'll see quite a jump in those numbers on the weekends after I27p1 hits release status. And as for Villain-side population specifically . . . we've tackled that topic a dozen times or so. The really juicy thread for that particular topic was: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19655-weekly-discussion-53-how-to-increase-villain-population/
  2. Yuuuuuuup! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19655-weekly-discussion-53-how-to-increase-villain-population/page/7/?tab=comments#comment-222757 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19762-new-redside-content-ambitions/ Perhaps you, @TalynDerre, and I could try to organize a little workgroup here in the forums, and attempt to draft up a design document for this feature? I certainly know it's been percolating in the back of my mind for over a decade. Also, @longdayinrehab. I just reread portions of that weekly discussion thread and saw that you would want to be included in projects of this nature, so throwing an invite out to you too!
  3. I do like the idea of having multiple different ATO Sets, but only being able to Slot 2 of them in a Build. Basically encourage people to ave different Builds for different ATO Procs/Passives. Get some more personalization up in here!
  4. *raises hand* I have eight accounts. I know someone with . . . at least twelve? Probably more. However! I also share an I.P. address with my spouse who plays on only one account, and I've had some people over playing their accounts from my home. On both my computer and my spouse's at one point or another. AND my I.P. is dynamic, resetting each time my modem's power source gets hit (so many power failures this past summer, gawd!). Unless the Devs have some means of getting greater fidelity on which accounts are from one player, I'm not sure awarding anything "per account" is necessarily a wise course. Really, any time that there's a problem with the market, the best answer is to put greater restrictions on it. Price caps. Tax brackets. That sort of thing.
  5. The Inf-Sink info is interesting to see . . . although . . . in this thread? Wouldn't it have been nice to see those numbers in the threads back around April? And important point: If a player doesn't use the player-market, no amount of Inflation Curtailing Inf-Sinks are going to affect them, but the fixed-price items most certainly will. I'm in a position of privilege right now with my spouse being my "sugar momma" in-game for Inf. But should that source dry up? Yeah . . . 10,000,000 is insanely steep. I won't be able to afford it. I definitely think Inf generation across all levels and Inf-Sinking needs to be re-examined in general. Not an I27p1 thing, of course, but for now . . . do the Devs -really- feel that 10,000,000 is fair to players who don't touch the market? I sure don't.
  6. As the saying goes, I generally don't like to "yuck other people's yum," and if PEATs are what the Devs wanna do then PEATs are what they wanna do, buuuuuuut . . . I still think it would be cooler to get a Rikti Epic Archetype character. Or the old Coralax Epic idea that was bounced around before Arachnos Epics. Or the Black Blood Epic that someone suggested in the boards a while back. I'm not against Praetorian Epics. I just kind of wonder if we would really get as much mileage out of them as some of the other Epic ideas that have been bounced around. All that being said . . . yeah. The Resistance/Loyalist branching Epic Archetype definitely sounds the most compelling to me here, but there's also the potential downside with getting frustrated building one and having to be forced in to certain story arcs or mission content. This focus on the idea of a Devouring Earth Epic is a little boggling to me. I would have figured people would hate them more than they hate the Rikti, honestly. Something that's definitely surprised me, to say the least. Who knew there were so many eco-philes out there?
  7. Looks like @Tyrannical cracked this nut, and in that typical eco-friendly style.
  8. Hmm . . . gonna need a Screaming in Horror Reaction button for this one . . . uh! I mean: Yaaaaay! (In all seriousness, thanks for what you've done for the community, and enjoy the break time!)
  9. You can demorecord a base to save it locally, but there isn't any way to load demorecords (other than being on a server where the Devs/GMs manually load it during a maintenance window, or so the rumours persist). Hopefully the Homecoming Team will prioritize this in the near future.
  10. I've mentioned it once or twice before over the past year and a half, but my main villain earnt the Role Model badge during some interesting roleplay activities, and that has remained her badge title ever since. My main hero has never had a Badge title, mainly because "True Undead" or even just "Undead" isn't a Badge title. If I could, I would gladly flag my main as True Undead in the game files, taking the penalties associated with that, for no other advantage than to have the game recognize my hero as undead. My myriad pile of alts generally start without any Badge title, but either slap an interim Badge titles until something better comes along, or have their life-long appropriate Badge titles. Granted, since I roleplay, sometimes those Badge titles shift, since they describe an aspect to the character which is no longer applicable.
  11. "Just and noble" is definitely a stretch for this particular topic, and I used the exaggeration partially in jest, but not entirely unfit given the whole picture. Because the labels of "hero," "villain," and all of that describe not just the action, but the motivation behind that action, and the general trend of behaviour that leads to becoming one of those things. Redside and Blueside are used to describe the environments. The locations. We've talked about it in the past in other threads, but there's a call for "Redside Heroes," and "Blueside Villains." Your efforts to conflate the concepts ultimately comes across as trying to pigeonhole people as good or evil merely on -where- they end up spending their time. And that's bad. For now, since the content isn't really there to support it, we generally use a shorthand. When someone says they're recruiting for a "Redside DFB," it has less to do with the people in that team being villains, and everything to do with the game's restriction to having to recruit from a pool of people in the same classification of zones as yourself. I think you should probably shelve this discussion until such time as the community has had suitable time to re-evaluate said shorthand in light of Redside Hero content and Blueside Villain content being introduced to the game. THEN there will probably be a call for sorting out the language. For now? This thread is being treated a joke by the vast majority of people posting in it, as near as I can tell. And to be equitable: It's a joke that has a tinge of serious discussion, of course. In the form of calling out the ridiculousness of arguing about labels that are ultimately meaningless at this time, but also to provide feedback about the structure of the game as it relates to the structure of its narrative. And hammering so hard against the use of the existing shorthand which the community has embraced isn't doing anything good, or noble, or just. At most? We might be able to call you an Anti-Villain for bringing so much of the community together on a particular topic, to share in our united disagreement with the alternative. Right now? Blueside is the colloquial we have as a community for Paragon City, Striga, the Shadow Shard, and all those zones which exclude players flagged as Villains, despite the actual narrative or gameplay elements related to villainous characters being in those zones, and Redside is Best Side. Maybe that'll change some day. But I really don't think it will have anything to do with this thread, and everything to do with the game actually changing to necessitate those labels needing to have their definitions shifted.
  12. A real hero supports everyone doing the noble and just thing, regardless of labels or past deeds. If a "hero" doesn't support a villain doing the right thing, just because that person is a villain, then the aforementioned "hero" is actually a vigilante.
  13. And really now . . . if -anyone- is going to support a minority, @UltraAlt, then it's going to be heroes. Check the in-game lore. We've got plenty of examples of it already.
  14. Some more of 'em: Again, not actual characters. Just things I threw together for my storage needs.
  15. That's Altoholism. For full-blown Altitis you need to have at least 12 accounts, with no less than 150 characters per account. And then forget the login info for one or more of those accounts, and go ahead and recreate all the lost characters again. THEN you have Altitis.
  16. I'm afraid you're confused, @Player 2. You don't have altitis. You're just playing the game the way it was designed to be played.
  17. You're milking this for all it's worth, aren't you?
  18. Just made a new character on Everlasting and ran up to grab the Jailbird Badge. When I came down the stairs, I found a Hellion Prisoner waiting for me. As such a spawn could cause issues for new players who are unfamiliar with the game, this is a bad place for their first experience with combat to take place, I think. Probably a bug worth investigating.
  19. Done and done! And folks; let Moka and I know if you want to see an event crossover with https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/15702-monkey-fight-club-its-not-a-secret-anymore/
  20. I never get any Purples (50s or PvP), the game doesn't hand them out to me. BUT I do have a surplus of ATOs from the recent Trick or Treating Event I tried to organize. Where should I sent them?
  21. I haven't got to test Dark Melee's Touch of Fear changes extensively, but the initial reaction is very much a "nope, don't like it." I use Touch of Fear as-is extensively on my Dark Melee characters on the Live servers. I find that it's a really useful Power for mitigation and target control. The addition of Damage to it is undermining that usefulness and destabilizing my playstyle. I suppose I'll adapt, but it's certainly not checking any boxes in my "fun" department.
  22. Ok, so, here's the thing . . . @Healix, this is a follow-up to the private message I sent you earlier: The following link is the source of the image Healix posted: https://www.startpage.com/av/proxy-image?piurl=https://i.imgur.com/diknP8V.gif&sp=1605346937T380a4fd23637cd3525520160b9cf9047a380a2e03faaf2e5cf4ea392ce08233b However, the "startpage" bit is totally superfluous: https://i.imgur.com/diknP8V.gif&sp=1605346937T380a4fd23637cd3525520160b9cf9047a380a2e03faaf2e5cf4ea392ce08233b and we can bypass the entire problem of it linking offsite by just copying the image itself, and pasting it directly in to this post: That way if the image is ever removed from imgur, it'll still work just fine here in the forum.
