  1. That's not a bad alternative, @Greycat, but that would ultimately only reduce the amount of them, not the lack of usefulness of them.

  3. We've seen this topic come up many, many, many times. A lot of intensity and passion has come up due to it. Ultimately, my stance comes down to one word: Options. Options to give players the capacity to fine-tune and tailor their own play experiences to their personal expectations. We've seen what can be done ion a microscopic scale with the likes of Notoriety, AE, and the Experience Boosters. Expanding on these things and developing some entirely new options will, in my personal and professional opinion, provide an immense amount of opportunities for players to get more of what they want from this game. An idea which I'd like to reiterate: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/11876-new-difficulty-mechanic-advanced-enemies/ Also, for the record, these two threads have a great wealth of information on the kinds of perspectives players have in regard to the play experience here in terms of difficulty and reward: Caution: NOT light reading material. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/12155-going-forward-can-we-have-more-things-that-mean-something/ https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23876-something-to-play-towards-or-un-necessary-forced-time-sink/
  4. Nope; that feature was removed in April. You will continue to earn Experience for "Veteran Levels," which provide some minor benefits up to level 99, and then are just e-peen thereafter. The amount of Inf earnt at that point doesn't change at all.
  5. Oh, yes, certainly. I was giving the other video as the -answer- to the robot(s)'s question(s).

  7. You brought this upon yourself, mortal.
  8. The pointless Enhancements continue to vex me! Please, give them a purpose, even if it's not the Enhancement recycling programme suggested here.
  9. Those are Rogue Arachnos, and don't count last I checked.
  10. Adding an Alignment column would also be handy for the normal Super Group window, come to think of it. And the Global Friend list!
  11. An interesting idea. I generally support any initiative to help facilitate more of and more nuanced forms of player connectivity and interaction. I particularly like the idea of players getting to opt-in as "Adversaries" to certain Groups. The roleplay potential is terrific! However, I do worry that it would need to be implemented very carefully to ensure it's not used as a "blacklist" to single-out and ostracise targeted players.
  12. We kind of touched on this in a recent massively-huge thread, but retention is kind of a dirty word. Players are people. People are allowed to come and go with their leisure-time activities. While this MMO is a social game, and you require other players to engage in several social activities within the game, "retention" isn't really the crux of the issue as far as I'm concerned. Bringing in fresh faces is. People who -haven't- done it all a million times, and are endlessly grinding in circles as a holding pattern while they hope that something new emerges to capture their attention for a weekend. But if you really want to maintain a grip on existing players, then I hold the firm stance that it's time to think outside the box. Continually attempting to pursue the methods of a for-profit development studio with paid employees is NOT conducive to maintaining this game in the long term with a volunteer development team and a -heavily- aged playerbase. It's time for new innovations and radical departures from assumed norms. Of course, I'm not advocating for getting -rid- of anything. I'm saying we need to offer NEW options. And it's okay to make mistakes and fail while exploring new developments, even if some players give "constructive criticism" a bad name.
  13. Yeah, it's a right pain in the rear, but I would often circle around the towers and webbing of Grandeville near the central tower. Took me a whole afternoon to hunt them down. Really, the badge requirements need a good, hard looking at, as far as I'm concerned. They're a neat mechanic, but having to grind the Defeat Badges out, rather than earning them through regular play really puts a damper on the whole thing.
  14. Updated to include @Kallisti and @Coyotedancer's posts.
  15. A Recipe Storage would also provide an easier means of shifting large quantities of Recipes from one character to another. For that alone, I endorse it! The Badges and beggars idea is also good, but mayhaps it deserves its own thread for the appropriate attention? There's a LOT we could do with the idea (and if I recall, it's been suggested since Issue 0!).
  16. I do like a lot of the energy people are bringing in the hopes of improving Mercenaries, while still maintaining their theme and purpose. Though some of the bigger ideas may be a little overkill as fixes, especially with the design and testing iterations necessary. Maybe these bigger ideas could be reserved for entirely new Sets? Goodness knows that we can -always- use new Sets!
  17. (( Prewarning; in-character post which skirts with subject matter which may be considered provocative, but is intended in the context of the direction of the fictitious discussion taking place. Views expressed are not personal views of the player. )) "Second chances?" Second chances for what exactly? To integrate in to a society which holds your cultural identity to be anathema? To give up who you are in the name of fitting in? NO! The Isles are the place to be. Lord Recluse doesn't care about your background or your identity. If you can stand firm on your own two feet (or on the shoulders of those below you), then you -get- to stand! The refugees are just as welcome in the Etoiles, and they don't need to grovel to government officials to try and earn a place to sleep. They can simply take what they need for themselves. They can use the skills they've developed living in a doomed world and put them to good use for their own survival! And when you've taken what you need for yourself, like any good and mindful careworker, THEN you can dedicate your efforts to helping those in need around you. It doesn't do you or your fellow Praetorians any good to weaken yourself in an effort to assimilate. Stand tall and stand proud in the Rogue Isles!
  18. Yay! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/24664-staging-patch-notes-for-november-30th-2020/
  19. Aye. Coyote was implemented by the original Legacy/Retail Devs. As far as I'm aware, all the other memorials are SCoRE/Homecoming additions.
  20. What about the hybrid emotes? Like: ";dance11$$e liedown" Anyone got that complete list somewhere?
  21. There are quite a few of these memorials in-game. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/10666-curupira/ https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Category:Memorial_NPCs Apparently about ten of them, according to at least one source, but said-source didn't provide details beyond their names: Ascendant Luna Curupira Raine Heartfall Malkiel Ivesse Todogut Tsukira Wolf Adam Norsewind If anyone has more concrete information, it would be wonderful of you to share it.

  24. I've harped on a particular idea for a while, so I'll link to one of the latest versions of that suggestion: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23864-weekly-discussion-76-noticeably-underpowered-sets-what-needs-an-emergency-buff/?tab=comments#comment-288610 The short of it: - Swap Medic for a 3rd standard Soldier - Swap Serum for a standalone Medic - Swap Medic's Frag Grenade for an AoE Crashless Serum Buff with reduced numbers adjusted to reflect its new nature I think this would preserve the Mercenaries Set's thematic elements and marginally increase the damage output to bring it up from dead-last. It would also give the Set a tiny improvement to Bodyguard (a smidge over 2.2%). This would also open the door for Mastermind Archetype Enhancements to be slotted in to one more Power, while preserving the Slotting options for Serum in the new Medic Power. Overall, improvements, without being ridiculously overpowered. But whatever solution is eventually settled on, I would just like to stress that Mercenaries is my main villainess' Primary, and I am a huge fan of the "death from a million pin pricks" coupled with the decent (although, could be better!) Control and Debuffs. I certainly don't want an obsessive pursuit of DPS/DPA to obfuscate the existing themes and strengths of the Set, like what just happened with Touch of Fear.
