  1. There is an immensely deep well of potential to tap when it comes to Arachnos, Lord Recluse, and the geopolitical forces of this game's settings. I mean, we only see them for a split second in the level 10 to 15 range and again in the 20 to 30 range, but the Spetznaz ( https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Spetsnaz_Commandos ) demonstrate that there are other foreign powers working as shadow operatives in the Isles. Just imagine how many other world governments -know- what's going on in the Isles, and actively funnel resources and information in to Lord Recluse's hands to fight a proxy war against the u.s. Hell! Maybe the reason the U.N. hasn't -truly- put a stop to Lord Recluse's activities is because many of the member nations are overjoyed at how focused he is on Paragon City. I imagine there would be no shortage of world leaders who blame Paragon City for the Rikti Invasion; after all, that's where Portal Corp is located.
  2. I haven't heard much for many others, @Dacy. I think you're safe to start distributing your surplus however you feel best. The surplus that I have on my accounts is still being organized, and my spouse is -still- claiming stuff from the Character Item "emails" due largely to: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/22733-bug-on-winter-packs-and-character-item-mailbox/ Lessons learned for future efforts, at least. Namely: Don't buy all the Packs at the last minute and THEN try to open them after the last minute. Or maybe just hand out Super Packs, and leave the opening for the people who receive them. I look to actually have a free day for myself for a change, and since https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23814-request-for-focused-area-of-testing/ hasn't received any replies, I'll try to finish organizing the surplus and then make an announcement with the specific amounts of stuff that need to get distributed to the other Shards. Then we'll find out who wants to take up the task of handing it out over there. Thank you, once again, for doing such an amazing job on Everlasting, Dacy! You spent your whole day in that base, and I appreciate your spreading of cheer to all those other players. And I apologize to @Luminara, @DawL, and everyone else whom I failed to get stuff adequately organized in time for.
  3. There is a body bag walk animation cycle . . . would be nice to grant Villains a Power that allows them to "assist" their escortee by putting them in a "protective sack" as part of the "evacuation process." Hell. A quality of life feature like THAT might be enough to make people play Redside in droves.
  4. Thank you, @WanderingAries. Do you happen to have a screenshot of where that setting is?
  5. A while ago, I discovered a series of Announcement threads that I hadn't read, but did not get flagged as "New/Unread" for me when they were posted. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/22562-forums-only-overall-origin-themed-costume-contest/?tab=comments#comment-266207 I chalked it up to maybe me just being distracted or maybe some one-time fluke of the forum software. However, today was the day I could confirm it. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/23811-first-ever-homecoming-base-contest-community-vote/ I definitely did not read that thread before, but when I clicked on it, Squidget's reply had the "New Content Starts Here" divider above it. I'm not 100% sure what's causing it, but I have some theories. To confirm my leading theory . . . GMs! Are you posting threads in some kind of "hidden" mode, and then revealing the threads after-the-fact? If so, then I believe that method of posting is causing errors related to users' "read receipts" for your announcements. This may be worth investigating further to see if there's a fix for it. Of all the threads I don't want to miss, the Announcements are at the top of the list.
  6. *nods* If I recall correct, there are some Armour Sets which are in the correct order for one Archetype, but incorrect in another.
  7. Forget your girls! I want the option of that hair on my everybodies!
  8. For clarity, @GM Tahquitz, when you say "no fictional animals," you mean to say "no animals based on existing intellectual properties," right? Like, in this particular contest, we're allowed to have catgirls and giant wolf mutants, but not a basilisk or a minotaur? . . . although, not being able to do a minotaur might complicate things for players who want to use the bovine heads . . . Or is this a contest intended to reward players for things specifically like:
  9. Following-up on @Replacement; it would be stellar to have the option to disable automatic update checking entirely, and have the option for the user to choose. Yes, naturally, a mismatch on client and server versions will prevent a player from playing, even if the game launches, but sometimes I really don't want the launcher to be phoning home constantly. I'd much rather just tell it when it's acceptable to do so.
  10. Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! This has to happen. Like, fifteen years ago already! Please.
  11. @Jimmy, @Faultline, @Cipher, @Captain Powerhouse, @Piecemeal, @Telephone, and any of the other Homecoming Team members who I should also be addressing this to (apologies if I missed anyone in particular): Are there any particular areas which you feel require more focused feedback at this time? I realized today that I am way behind on doing testing and providing feedback on the parts of the Issue 27 Beta that I am personally interested in, and those areas seem to be getting quite a bit of attention from other players anyway. For myself and any other members of the community actively putting in time on Brainstorm right now, I would like to know if there is anywhere (now, or later) that you would like us to direct some more of our attention and time. Thanks! Here's hoping that we're being helpful!
  12. Good luck, @Ejlertson. I hope that the two of you enjoy your time together more than either one of you enjoys the game alone!
  13. I don't want to get mired in to this . . . but if one side of the fight gets to use their friends/companions, then so does the other side. Goku's friends would leap in to action and get handily defeated, but they would buy him just enough time to win . . . or at least stalemate.
  14. Every April we can have Derek as the temporary Homecoming mascot, sure. Sounds appropriate.
  15. Since this is now Homecoming: City of Heroes, maybe the Homecoming Team should make their -own- original and unique signature Hero (or Villain) to stand as their in-game representative.
  16. Yes, @Techwright. "They're taking the hobbits to Icing Guard." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE-1RPDqJAY
  17. This is a pipedream at this point, @Menelruin, but . . . if it were possible, would your concept be served well as an Empathy / Broad Sword [insert new/imaginary Archetype name here]?
  18. Because if the thumbnail were nipples, then @Luminara would be dragging @Jimmy in here.
  19. Poking around again. Trying to find the time to really dig in and give a solid deep dive in to this thing. Haven't really had the chance. But! Did catch something I wanted to document before I forgot: "Statesman wasn't above getting a cat of a tree, you know." I believe the word "out" is missing from this sentence. Also, thanks for the cute description in Newt's info! It's appreciated.
  20. According to my in-game check . . . Aid Other, at Level 50: All Standard Melee Archetypes: 188.91 HP Windows and Soldiers: 157.42 HP Defender (for comparison): 262.37 HP Experimental Injection, at 50: All Standard Melee Archetypes: 4.84 Status Protection Widows and Soldiers: 6.92 Status Protection Defender: 8.65 Status Protection Regeneration Rate and Recovery Rate unchanged for all Archetypes. Leadership Toggles (Maneuvers, Tactics, Assault): Stalker, Scrapper: 2.27% Defense, 7.00% To-Hit, 10.50% Damage Buff Brute: 2.63% Defense, 7.00% To-Hit, 10.50% Damage Buff Tanker: 2.63% Defense, 10.00% To-Hit, 15.00% Damage Buff Widow, Soldier: 3.50% Defense, 10.00% To-Hit, 15.00% Damage Buff Defender: 3.50% Defense, 12.50% To-Hit, 18.75% Damage Buff Note: Field Medic doesn't change based on Archetype.
  21. Correct. 1d100.00 is the die size which the game itself uses (one may watch their combat log to see). I do hope the randomizer is still pleasant and enjoyable for folks! Also, be sure to prod me on my currently-active account when the time comes to update the randomizerr charts with any new (or newly proliferated) Power Sets.!
  22. Follow-up question to my earlier ones: Would anyone who doesn't personally want to experience the content I proposed begrudge anyone else who did?
  23. Good call on the public service announcement. I've still got some people who are shocked to hear the news. Hopefully we'll be able to meaningful soften the blow by the time Issue 27 gets released.
  24. I don't like adding to this monstrous creation, but sometimes there just isn't a more appropriate place to share something. While looking for a little spellcheck, I stumbled upon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtPcF6hd7R8 I had to share it.
