  1. Would this be burdensome on the system? If not, I like the idea. I wouldn't be a fan of comparing players. Looks like something may be in the works, or at least the data may be more available for a tool.
  2. Some lively discussion today and a bit of shuffling in the poll. My hope was to get some numbers/votes and maybe some stated an opinions. (note: participants may vote on more than one option). No need to try and win an argument in the comments. The votes are painting a picture: Love (Keep it as is) = 24 votes Love (Tweaks would be okay) = 19 votes Players should be able to toggle it as wanted/needed. = 16 votes Wish it was knockdown instead = 12 votes Hate (Tweaks would be okay) = 4 votes Hate (Get rid of it) = 0 votes
  3. There are rules that are adhered to, folks don't actually get to do whatever they want. @Corruption You could answer the direct question asked. 'Are you okay with exchanging real money for powerleveling?' I can answer that question. For some, it may be a bit of a Kobayashi Maru were one is easily stuck between hypocrisy and violating the code of conduct. (metaphor attempt) @ShardWarrior I simply thought it was what you did. Including something inflammatory in comments appears to be your shtick. By the way - the in game commerce seems just fine without charging for power-leveling. @DR_Mechano maybe I am the troll. I'm not familiar with WoW but appreciate your take. I have no problem with power-leveling. A middle-of-the-road opinion versus one extreme or another. Charging for power-leveling in global channels.. that, I disagree with. It seems a slippery slope towards violating the code of conduct and other nefarious activities such as exploitation.
  4. Do you ever add anything valuable to a discussion or just troll and try to argue with folks?

    Squeezed out?

I'm the exact opposite preferring Corruptors over Defenders, Blasters, etc. Just play style, maybe. I agree with:
  6. Is there a comprehensive list of powers with knockback?
  7. Yeah you get the gist. To clarify, I was paraphrasing what others were already writing when I wrote that 'As some have stated in this thread "time is money" or "should be compensated for my time".' Example sources: "Time is money." -Vea, "compensated for their time" -Crysis, "I think time is money" -THEDarkTyger, "People with the inf are getting what they paid for." -ZacKing Some could say, if folks are asking to be compensated for their time, they are treating their time playing like a job.. semantics I appreciate the back and forth. I do hear what you're saying. I'm just on the other side of the fence on this one. Sidenote: On the topic of time as real world currency. Checkout the 2011 movie 'In Time' with Justin Timberlake & Amanda Seyfried.
  8. *clapping* Well done @Jawbreaker
  9. Were you doing it wrong on live?! The chinese would have gladly helped you out for $100 US or 1,000,000,000 infamy, which ever you preferred. One week. (joking of course)
  10. It was your idea. I just took it an enormous leap to a conclusion.
  11. If we effectively had access to that spreadsheet in-game and 'rolling' a character was actually selecting ala cart powers then picking what animation or sound went with each power on top of the costume generator. *head explodes* I guess, in that context, the normalization of each power set to be as similar as possible (balance and number wise) makes sense. It would open up a lot of options and creativity. That would be pretty amazing. At the same time potentially easily exploitable. It would also mean everything may have to be comparable at some level. Specialization would only be determined by the concentration of selected power types versus the variety we have now. It would be a totally different path.
  12. Interesting. Which part of the quoted post confused you? There could be a good point in your reply.. gimme a bit to ponder. I believe ultimately I'll disagree but I'll definitely consider what you're stating. [reserved for response] I don't think you are confused. You may have quoted the incorrect post, but seem to have understood what I wrote. And then, threw it into a blender. I believe ultimately as I understand from what you wrote, the distinction could be: 'charging for a service' versus 'helping or assisting other players' If a player was to exchange money for an in-game service, that is a no-no and expressly prohibited behavior. (I understand that this only close to the situation being discussed and not exactly, but it does heavily influence my opinion on the matter)
  13. So you are okay with exchanging real money for powerleveling? I've asked some folks before to which they might respond "That's not what I said." which to me seems a bit hypocritical. Corruption, you may certainly be an excellent player and admitted PL junkie (which I have no problem with) but good luck arguing with an opinion. As many a significant other might say "That's how I feel.". You can stomp your feet, whine, cry, name call or yell and scream all you want.
  14. Any updates on the discontinue safe mode effort? Is what some players are reporting being addressed, are there very few reports of issues, is the timeline for discontinued safe mode established beyond soon? It appears that the safe mode showed back up on it's own without having to add a special manifest. Is this as intended?
  15. That's a very oversimplification of those sets' mechanics. But if that's your opinion on the new sets, then I don't really have anything to discuss with you. Just fyi - I am not a fan of the combo system mechanics either. I think there are definitely more than a handful that feel similarly. It's cool some are available for those that like em. I think they simply meant keeping the current 'look at these hands' animation as an option for Total Focus. Nothing more than that.
  16. I shoot for 2 FF +rech in recharge focused builds. As for @DemonWithin's question, simple answer: Shield Charge. Spring Attack may also be available for your character. Cross Punch = If your good at getting more than 3 enemies in a short range cone, this could also have potential.

    Squeezed out?

power creep, balance, actual variety vs re-skinning. it is a challenge.
  18. troo Hey could you go collect 70 enhancements for me at the lowest price you can find so that I can resell them. Sounds like a personal shopper for my store on the Black Market.
  19. Okay, okay I'll go check it out.
  20. I want to agree. However, a new channel does not address the behavior that could lead players to be in violation of the User Agreement or Code of Conduct. While 'we' may feel we should get to do whatever we want in-game, that simply is not true. There are boundaries and there are consequences. (b) If You violate the Code of Conduct then Homecoming may, in its sole and absolute discretion, terminate Your Account under Section 2(b). (c) If You help another user of the Game violate the Code of Conduct then Homecoming may, in its sole and absolute discretion, terminate Your Account under Section 2(b). Lesser actions: The removal of your character’s name, costume, or description Deletion of your character, supergroup, or Architect mission Restrictions placed on your ability to communicate (eg: a chat ban) Temporary or permanent suspension from our servers As some have stated in this thread "time is money" or "I should be compensated for my time". Note: The Code of Conduct is explicit, "do not attempt to exchange real money for in-game services or influence". It is my opinion that Charging for Powerlevelling is exchanging real world currency (time) and barely one step removed from 'real money'. Globally advertising that service could result consequences.
  21. kudos @Shadeknight for your post formatting. oh and for "Homecoming will be here forever.", that's nice to see.
  22. Just change the set back and we'll see what's 'wrong with' it. For clarity, your statement "There's lots wrong with energy melee. Changing this one thing doesn't fix that." is incorrect in too many ways. So much so I feel I've been trolled.
  23. I may have missed that.. sorries. Just change the set back.
