  1. This is debatable by design. Play style can be a factor. Time can be a factor (spike vs sustained). Survivability can be a factor. Target type can be a factor. It can be about more than just mashing buttons.
  2. /regen is a solid if not over performing set for stalkers
  3. exaggerate much?
  4. Great job! Of course immediately it appears there might be a correlation between posted builds on the net (going back to live), hype (fotm now and then) and lack of creativity (min/max copycats). Maybe that's harsh.. but it's really hard to roll a truly terrible combo.
  5. Curruptors are definitely not Defenders. That said, damage can be the more difficult thing to find later in the game.
  6. gambling on the random number generator vs crafting.
  7. 46 minutes ago, Thezanman said: The volunteer devs have far more important (and easier) things to do than trying to make VFX from scratch. In the meantime, it won't hurt to just add Wind Control with minimal effort since it's already pretty much done. You don't have to play it if you don't want to, and maybe sometime in the future VFX can be made. No reason to make people wait for that time. Wow. Free game with volunteers taking crap. Maybe someone needs to take a timeout?
  8. Nothing like someone late, yelling from the audience an idea that was already bounced around. But here goes anyway: The current non-profit game has a lot of potentially unused in game billboards that NCSoft could 'leverage'. Love / Hate? I get it. However, I like playing on a public version more than I'd hate that idea.
  9. googling "COH leveling guide" returned many options. I'll find & post a link to a decent one. classic non-AE/non-farmie guide ('leveling quickly' is not super accurate for the new version of the game. still good info) https://cityofheroes.fandom.com/wiki/Strategy/Leveling_quickly also helpful https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/New_Player's_Guide_to_Life_Outside_the_AE_Building From zero to level 35/40 (suggestions, not definitive) After 35/40 there is tons of content. Level 50 used to take players somewhere between 100 and 250 hours of play. It has greatly decreased. Definitely use xp boosts from the P2W vendor. 200+/- hours sounds like a long haul but there is so much content and interesting players along the way. There were really only a handful of levels that would feel like a grind. It was a little different then - we didn't have travel powers until level 14, had to unlock capes, auras & costume slots, earn re-specifications (to revamp your entire build from scratch) and walk uphill both ways in chest high snow..
  10. For a 40ish tank there might be some less expensive ways to go. If you're eyeballing end game soon and can afford it, the suggestions make sense.
  11. Energy Melee / Regen forever. With insta Assassin's Strike out of hide = yummy. If the old ET animation time was returned, well that would be the dream, wouldn't it?
  12. Don't stress about Invention Origin enhancements yet. I'd suggest sticking with Dual Origin and when possible Single Origin until you get a bit higher up. IOs are great in that they don't stop working as you level but they also don't increase in effectiveness. SOs can be bought but also earned. Doing the Death From Below (DFB) or Drowning in Blood (DiB) trials which can yield 4-5 SOs per run for low level characters. (you can also a bonus at the end, up to 4 unique, one per run) Here some more info: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancements "There are four main types of Enhancements: Training, Dual Origin, Single Origin and Invention Origin (abbreviated to TO, DO, SO and IO respectively). There are also several kinds of Special Enhancements, usually as rewards of a particularly difficult task set to players. Training, Invention Origin and Special Enhancements are usable by any character. Dual-Origin and Single-Origin Enhancements are only usable by characters based on the character's origin." "Single-Origin Enhancements Single-Origin Enhancements, often referred to as SOs, are even more powerful. They provide twice as much improvement as DOs (or four times as much as Training) and may be used only by a character whose origin matches the Enhancement's. Single-Origin enhancements may be bought at origin-specific stores and NPCs in various zones and, at an inflated cost, from individual contacts. Currently, the lowest level Single-Origin Enhancements generally available for purchase are level 25, which are usable by characters of minimum level 22. There are, however, some particular exceptions as low as level 13 sold in Mr. Yin's store, allowing some characters to use some SOs as early as level 10. SOs are dropped by enemies for characters of level 22-50. SOs are also sometimes provided as mission bonuses, and in the cases of Task Forces and Story Arcs, the player may even choose the aspect. SOs in certain level ranges for Heroes may only be purchased from contacts that require a mission before they will deal with you. Here is a quick reference. More detail in each contact's page and on the Stores Inventory page. Origin - Contact Name - City Zone Magic - Serafina - Brickstown Mutant - Penny Preston - Founders Falls Natural - Agent Six - Founders Falls Science - Holsten Armitage - Brickstown Technology - Mark IV - Founders Falls"
