I apologize for even the appearance that the HC team removed a topic I started. That was not my intention. Bottomline, I just wanted to do other stuff and it was a distraction going back and forth debating what felt like trolly non-sense. (One player creeper seemed to follow me throughout the forum and chimed in with opposition everywhere I posted and on each topic I started) (So... blame them not the Homecoming team) My tolerance for jackassery is pretty high but limits I do have. I don't like seeing the littles get bullied or mislead, and I'll be the villain if that's what it takes. Request: (sorta unrelated to this topic) Be mindful, just a smidge. We don't always know other people's situation. It could be a kid or an aging gamer trying to escape into this game. There are language barriers, financial barriers, handicaps, disabilities, medical conditions, and on and on. Not everyone is a beer swilling titan of the keyboard. A smidge of mindfulness. About the Homecoming Team We play because of their efforts. We get to chip in and help in various ways but really none of this happens without them. At times, I have challenged them and I have been chastised by them. (I have spent more time than most in the penalty box) STILL I will say that they take in our feedback and reasonable criticism. If there is a question or concern they do listen. I'm not saying that action will be taken but understanding we've been heard is really the most anyone should hope for. We could all do better. The HC Team won't claim to be perfect but has so far endeavored to do the best they reasonably can. Don't forget on top of dealing with our motley collective they are the dealing with unending system updates, malware, bad actors, gold farmers, and hackers.

This is spot on.

@GM Widower The removal of posts tends to be the flash point which results in a player ban. Just an observation. Hence the perception of 'silencing' players by staff. It's an unfortunate coincidence that those silenced just happened to have the opposing opinion. A lot of what happens on the forums is self inflicted.. on all sides.

Hey folks - That's all me. I'll formulate an appropriate explanation. ( @roleki has the closest guess)

I'm glad you picked up on the intended irony.

I totally wish this is how it was being used. Unfortunately I see new folks or folks with lower post counts often getting pilied on from the same groups of like minded players.

Focused Feedback: Fiery Aura Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The cast time was unexpected but a nice surprise. For active players, cast time reduction is a great small boost to get to a heal or other in order to stay upright. Question: Is there a recharge number that would work if 25s was too quick in order to have a slightly lower activation? 45s recharge was a lot for Burn. It could work maybe at 30s if that achieves the design goal. Burn (first version of change) This power should no longer summon multiple burn patches. This power should now hit 5 enemies instead of 4. Radius reverted back to 8ft. Procs should no longer trigger multiple times per target when using this power. Burn Flames should now inherit the power Accuracy enhancements. Burn Flames now inherit AT classes, caps, and modifiers. Cast time reverted back to 2.03s. Recharge reverted back to 25s. Fixed a bug where the power was not inheriting damage buffs. Burn (latest revision) This power should no longer summon multiple burn patches. This power should now hit 5 enemies instead of 4. Up-Front damage radius increased to 15ft. Procs should no longer trigger multiple times per target when using this power. Burn Flames should now inherit the power Accuracy enhancements. Burn Flames now inherit AT classes, caps, and modifiers. Cast time lowered from 2.03s to 1.47s Recharge increased from 25s to 45s -
Change name of Beta: Focused Feedback
Troo replied to Troo's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
Yeah it's just not fair to ask a GM to aggressively moderate feedback if the title is Feedback. Arguments and unruly behavior can be easier to parse. Determining what's on-topic or valuable feedback can just be problematic. It pits the GM against players who may have spent a lot of time on their feedback just to have it removed without explanation and sometimes by mistake. -
How's the old saying go? If we don't have something nice to say we shouldn't say anything at all. Thumbsdown & Confused are at times being used in a way that is more aggressive than probably intended. Would this make for a nicer forums.. maybe, maybe not. But at least folks would need to articulate their disapproval and could be held accountable for any actual harassment.

Asking for feedback and getting feedback has been problematic. New players get trounced, existing players get pitted against each other, and veterans with tons or experience get dismissed without explanation for participating at the wrong juncture in the process. Just call it "Focused Bug Testing" or something else. I'd suggest removing the 'quote' feature from that section if possible but realize that's not realistic. Players responding to players is sometimes helpful but it's also very often the flash point where things go off the rails.

Focused Feedback: Battle Axe Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
@Sovera I'm going try one from scratch. Thanks though. It looks like we're thinking the same thing. How were all the extra powers in Yin? That's on of those TFs impacted by the level changes. -
Focused Feedback: Battle Axe Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Yep. as long as it's a known or as expected on your end. These changes will result in a respec so it'll all shake out on the player end. @Booper I only copied over a completed character. Looking more into the power level changes, lack of slots might exasperate the end drain. Maybe there's on spot that could be end cheap. I'm planning to try an axe in the 25-30 range and confirm. It would just be a bummer to see the set go into the too end hungry to be fun pile. (I'm not against choices and consequences, just don't want folks to be bummed if it feels unplayable paired with some sets. /dark being a non-starter maybe.) -
Focused Feedback: Power Level Availability Changes
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Tier 2 change is amazeballs. Thank you. In some places yes it's great to access more powers choices. Does feel even more like there aren't enough slots though. Those leveling up can actually feel weaker (see above comment) HOWEVER those playing down are that much stronger.. While I thought a little power creep for mid levels would be nice.. It's not game breakingly significant. The power creep for folks who exemplar/malefactor is very large. (coming mostly from the Primary set changes but the Secondaries are also impactful) Question: Would it be possible to do the rest of the changes and see how it goes (all but the Primary Sets)? Would still be a big change and nice boost. Teaming sets like Tanks and Defenders might see a little more but will have to deal with endurance and recharge management earlier (lack of slots). Primary Sets (non-Epic ATs) Tier 8 powers moved from level 26 to level 22 Tier 9 powers moved from level 32 to level 26 -
Playing on test is sooo easy now. Insta50 and Incarnates. Can even export an file with all the enhancement shopping in it. I don't know why folks don't play there more. Sure it can get wiped but it's so easy now to spin or re-spin up a character.

yep. 3 hours was broken. changes hurt those who are/were less efficient or less effective than those posting record times. (poor get poorer) resetting the expectation is what it is.
-
2 levels in 6 tunnel runs is not working as intended even after nerfs. I'm going to say it was an old mission not providing expected xp and the more folks in the mission the more the xp gets spread around. You could try a fire farm I threw together after page 4. Arc #52116 "Summer's Over: A Halloween Fire Farm (page 4 version)". It's should be max xp. Be aware it's a smidge more challenging than pre-page 4s due to the ranged damage for mobs over the damage cap.

Focused Feedback: Battle Axe Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Anyone feeling a little low on endurance now? That said, attacks are so buttery smooth now. Thank you. It just feels more end hungry and I'm gonna have to clearly respec. from the current power selections. I was toggle dropping (and died 3x) trying to defeat just one custom boss. selections on a tank Kleos is an Ice Armor / Battle Ax tanker level 50 unicorn that mostly solos. (non incarnate) Time allowing I want try out the changes on something other than Kleos as they are an uncommon pairing. -
Focused Feedback: Stealth Toggle Exclusivity Removal
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Hide still stacks with these, right? Example: Stalker running Hide and Stealth will still get stacking stealth and stacking defense. -
Focused Feedback: Power Level Availability Changes
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Question @The Curator: Do the level changes impact just players or mobs as well? credit @Greycat I think many would like this as long as it doesn't bring down the other power. (nearly averaging the two is a likely outcome of such a request being granted) -
Focused Feedback: Fiery Aura Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
@Powerhouse@Booper Highlighted above is the concern for me. Reigning in the high end builds ends up gimping a signature power for lower level and casual players. Can't have both Hasten and Burn on auto without cheating so Recharge is an easy target for adjustment. The trade offs just don't seem to equal the lower level regular play impacts. 15 feet for a 5 target power.. meh. (just to curb bad play complaints like not knowing how to pause a beat before immobilizing? or is it for runners to stay in damage?) I'm not convinced 45s is the plan. It feels like a pre-planned compromise point. Couldn't something be added that helps lower end play but really is a non-factor on the higher end? Slow, Stun, -ToHit, I dunno? Something that helps a solo or small team. It is going to be available now at level 24 and it should be relevant as a signature power. Something that helps on a Boss not just clearing one or two minions. -
Dear whiteknighter, if even a handful of folks didn't ask for it, it's not the entire community. There was a vote? I'm pretty active on these forums, but i do miss a thing or two. Oh, you have to be part of a subgroup outside the official forum.. see it's not really me alluding to it. Didn't mean for my glib remark to trigger you.

Focused Feedback: Fiery Aura Revamp
Troo replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
It was posted that Fiery Embrace was not correctly buffing components of some Fiery attacks. Looks like that post may have been hidden. You might have missed this question for you: Does it seem like the adjustments have a larger impact on lower end characters? (non-uber, non-incarnate) (I hate punishing casual players to reign in those pushing the envelope) -
Yeah, you have a point. Things are pretty baked in by the time most get to provide feedback and it's a little misleading to the uninitiated who think "oh wow, they're asking for my thoughts and opinions". That said, they do read the feedback. While feedback has never stopped sweeping global PvP changes made for a select few, other catastrophes have been adverted through focus feedback. Dark Armor.. AE Vet levels.. awww, I like the positive pluckiness.
