  1. I like this idea, to sort of lock in a slot so it only randomizes other slots.
  2. Most of my toons can handle soloing +4*8 albeit at differing paces. I fall under the category of being a min-maxer myself, but I tend to team more often then I solo. So I often contribute decently to my team's efficiency. That said I don't like carrying a team, so if there's people that are often dying or sitting on their ass, I usually don't hang out.
  3. Fire/kin tanks are definitely pretty rare.

Invuln/katana tanks can work well, I have one myself but the two sets don't necessarily have that much synergy between them sure you'll likely have lethal defense through the roof due to invincibility and divine avalanche but invincibility does affect positional defense, only typed. That said Katana itself is very fluid and you can get a nice rotation going, but you build one of these more for theme than for min-maxing. As I frequently say, if you take an attempt at a build, I'm willing to work with you on it based on your goals. I'll offer the same here as I'm more about teaching someone to fish then giving them a fish.
  5. I play primarily on Everlasting, but I don't RP in this game. I ended up on it because I liked the Roald Dahl reference and incidentally bumped into my old sg on Everlasting a few months in even though they've mostly "retired" from the game and now with almost 200 lvl 50s I'm too lazy to server transfer. I've personally never seen someone posting links like that, not to say it doesn't happen, as I've heard of some people engaging in ERP, so I wouldn't be surprised if people were exchanging links with each other. That said if they do that via private channels or tells, I don't care as long as their consenting adults. But like I said I've never witnessed it. I think as others have said about monitoring the channels they are in and enabling chat logs are a good idea. I'm hesitant to having them play on an empty server though (as I have my own personal server where it's just me, and that at times has similar population to indomitable and torchbearer). Part of the reason for playing an MMO is to play with other people too.

  7. Well it was lowered from its old 775% to 700% on homecoming, its still higher than the other ATs. Iirc, Blaster, Scrapper, Stalker and Corruptor get up to 500% and the other AT's up to 400%.
  8. Given permanently at the damage cap and max recharge, I think it's a EM/Bio Brute as Brute has a higher damage cap then other ATs. I haven't ran the numbers but I think a damage capped brute would outpace other options.

Otherwise the attacks are fairly fluid. Whether or not that's enough in your book to roll as opposed to a Rad/Fire or Spines/Fire that's ultimately up to you. I've had a lot of fun making non-conventional farmers myself.

Going along with this theme and not to try and hijack the thread, it would be cool to see the granite armor player model encased in granite that you could leave at standard granite, the volcanic look, or crystal and then have a translucency ider on the crystal version to see your player's body trapped inside the armor. Otherwise I have no problem with the original request to allow a no fx version of stealth that would allow you to be visible as it wouldn't have any functional advantage and would be merely cosmetic in nature.
  11. Welcome to week 17. I honestly never thought I'd make it this far on these, but alas here's another one. Part of the main reason that CoH has been so enduring to a lot of us has been the freedom of costume design as opposed to other MMOs keeping gear pieces trapped behind loot drops and RMT. Over the years there's been a wide variety of costumed heroes and villains and all those in-between ranging from someone just hitting the random button and rolling with it to others painstakingly spending hours in the costume creator to get everything just right. What do you think about the Costume Creator? What are some strengths or weaknesses of it? What changes to it would you potentially like to see if any? How long do you spend on average per costume? What's the longest amount of time you've spent on a costume? Do you participate as a contestant or host of in-game costume contests? If so what's your experience been with them? Lastly, feel free to share a couple screenshots of your favorite costumes.
  12. Ice mastery is one of the best for a dominator imo. Otherwise fire, mace, psionic, and leviathan are reasonable options as well depending on your overall build needs.
  13. Also never attune a PvP IO (the OP used Shield Wall in their example). Only buy the non-proc PvP IOs at lvl 50, they work like very rare purples and will work all the way down to lvl 10 without needing to attune it. Instead boost it to +5, for maximum efficiency.
  14. I play a pretty intense ice/dark/dark. I'm willing to offer build advice to help you on your way. I would require you though to try and make yourself a build, and discuss your goals for it though so we can get you to where you want it.

  16. You want Sandolphans MM Keybijd System assuming you have a numpad but you can always rebind them to your available keys.
  17. Have hurricane on, stand 5 feet off a corner, and wormhole your group of NPCs into the corner. Enjoy.
  18. Regen honestly works better as a Brute, because it has a higher HP cap, as it regens more health per tick than a scrapper. Back in the olden times, I used to play a ton on a scrapper that could run Perma MoG. If the alpha strike didn't one shot you, you weren't going to die back then. I actually solo'd 4 mitos before the rest of Guardian server jumped in to "help" me on my solo Hami attempt. Now a days, you'll want to keep Dull Pain Perma, build for HP cap, and also lots of recharge and get your slow res up to 100% as you'll often live and die by your click powers. It's possible to do that while still building a reasonable layer of defense, but note that you'll have no DDR to protect that defense from debuffs. The set can still be salvageable, but has become the butt end of a number of jokes considering the multiple nerfs that the original devs did to the power set.
  19. Resistance based armor, some thdb on your attacks, two fast recharging heals. I'm sure with proper IO investment it will be fine. You could build up the res and add some defense (although you won't have any DDR to protect your defense). It seems like a pretty active tank as you alternate healing CDs. Damage though would be pretty damn good with Perma Soul Drain, Fiery Embrace and Burn so it has that going for it. I don't have a lot of experience with Fiery Aura on a nonfarm character since about i8 though so I'll defer to others more experienced with Fiery Aura outside of a fire farm.
  20. For a DUO without melee, I would make a pairing that leverages crippling debuffs or stacked buffs. I would also link them via a common theme but that's just me. Examples: an Elec/Kin Corruptor and a Time Manipulation/Elec Defender. Alternatively, an Elec Control/Dark Affinity Controller with a Demons/Electric Affinity MM. In those examples I linked them with electric, as mobs with no endurance or recovery offer a great amount of mitigation of incoming damage. Each character also brings symbiotic buffs to help the other. So if you are exclusively duoing these characters you can take that into account when you build them out with IOs as well. Otherwise any of these combos would be beneficial to most teams.
  21. I can't properly evaluate the build as it's incomplete. What are your build goals for the character?
  22. Honestly at this point HC has been up just about four years. The likelihood of you getting a particular name if the name release policy is activated is miniscule as a lot of players have a significant number of 50's which their name is protected indefinitely. Your best course of action is to try to contact the global account of the character named what you're looking for and see if they are willing to release that name. I know I've been approached a couple times in that fashion and have been able to work out some type of agreement (as the characters I had were just dormant lvl 50s I hadn't played in 2+ years). If you're unable to get the name that way, then it's basically a waiting game to see if the name does get released and then a lottery to see if you actually get the name.
  23. DP/Time works pretty well using Clarion Radial and Power boost for Farsight/Chrono Shift. That allows you some degree of freedom for slotting your attacks. Albeit you'll want a lot of recharge for those powers and a few others. Works great in melee especially when using a teleport up bind to maximize your cones.
  24. As others have set it's not a flashy high damage control type, but it's pretty safe. If you want more damage I'd incorporate arcane bolt, enflame, and water spout. Given the AoE nature of enflame and waterspout you can clump mobs up with your controls and floor their stats and have at them.
  25. Magic Grav/Fire/Mu Domi with Hasten, Experimentation, Leadership, and Fighting with a flying carpet. I think these power choices would give you a pretty good coverage of what's in Hogwarts Legacy, and some variation. Experimentation for your potions, hasten for domination. Leadership because your giving leadership to your house, and fighting because you're part of the super secret dueling club. Magic carpet because there's no broom.
