  1. Commenting to take a look at the build later on. I have a Stone/Rad tanker myself that I've used on some hard mode TFs. When I get some time I'll see if I can give you some feedback.
  2. My biggest gripe about Sonic Resonance is that I wish liquefy had a shorter base recharge. I'd like it to have maybe a base 90 second recharge as opposed to its 300 second recharge as it's a location based power so mobs that move outside of it are magically better. Otherwise I wish Disruption Field was a pbaoe toggle, or at least given the treatment like Enflame to be useable on an enemy as well as an ally, because as is, the power although a staple of the set is useless solo. Clarity doesn't make too much sense to me from a design perspective either. It's like they were scraping the bucket trying to cut and paste together a powerset when they made it. As such I personally find Sonic towards the bottom tier of support sets.
  3. I'd be okay with an option to give up XP and influence if it significantly increased the rate of recipe/salvage drops.
  4. I don't normally post builds, but I also haven't seen a Dark/Stone Tanker, as Stone Melee seems fairly rare although its strong, I play it on a few different toons including a SD/SM tanker. Preface, I do not have a DA/SM tanker, but honestly I might just roll one up but already have built DA/Kat and DA/SS tankers as well. This is how I'd build a DA/SM Tanker. The build res w/ 1 stack MotT: S&L - 89.54% (In practice you're likely to have at least 2 MotT stacks, so this will likely be at the 90% cap.) F&C - 88.96% (In practice you're likely to have at least 2 MotT stacks, so this will likely be at the 90% cap.) E - 58.95% (This is the second weakest resistance after Toxic.) N - 90% T - 56.35% (The weakest res value.) P - 90% Defense wise: S&L - 36.78% (1 small luck can get you to non incarnate softcap) F,C,E.N - 27.09% T&P - 25.84% M - 47.72% R&A - 28.34% In my build I put in Unleash Potential and Demonic(aka Eye of the Magus) for you to alternate as necessary. I also put in Aegis as a destiny, but you can adjust to your liking with Aegis, Unleash Potential comes back sooner, and end management is not necessary. Otherwise you could use Barrier for a third rotational piece to work when Unleash Potential or Demonic are on CD, which is not a bad idea by any means either as Dark Regeneration should help keep your end full as long as you use it while having mob density surrounding you. Also I have Darkest Night in the build for a significant ToHitDebuff and also -Dam to help not only you, but your whole team. Otherwise Gloom, Fault will help with further mitigation. Enjoy.
  5. I have a lot of Dominator experience. Way back when CoV first came out my first villain was a Grav/Fire Domi, and I've had probably another 30 domis since. Here's some fun combos that I've enjoyed: Elec/Psi Plant/Earth Fire/Energy Dark/Thorns Ill/Savage These are ones that work well enough leveling up, the Fire/Energy and Plant/Earth seemed a little end heavy until slotted. Try a few combos on test, see what suits your play style and come up with a concept that works for you and you'll quickly have a fun toon.
  6. I'd guess the majority would fall somewhere between 40-50. Given the game came out just about 19 years ago, I figure the bulk of the player base was somewhere in their 20's when the game first came out. That all said we don't really have a means of determining that short of a self respondent based survey but there's respondent bias that we can't really account for.
  7. I tried to maintain objective impartiality while reading this over. Full disclosure I farm, I also run AE content, and occasionally try to make a mission in the AE myself, so it m in the AE quite often. I think the other folks replying have given you reasonable alternatives to use. I don't see how you have a hardship to need auto cast powers disabled in the AE, as it doesn't hurt you, given you can go quiet, or to an AE where there's less foot traffic. For those reasons I don't support the suggestion.
  8. My system is by AT (ATs sorted alphabetically), then descending by level, then ascending by the alphabet. Heroes or Villains are characters that aren't fully IOd, Vigilantes and Rogues are.
  9. I'm a statistics junky and I like numbers. That said I used to be in a hardcore raid guild in WoW and would go back and forth with another Warlock for top damage on the server. We'd occasionally even play together and shoot the shit. The guy turned out to be alright. During that time I also was hounded by people trying to poach me for their guilds or ask me why my DPS was better than theirs, etc. I've personally tried to keep a philosophy where I keep my e-peen smaller than my actual peen. I'm not infallible, if you need proof just ask my wife about me, as she told me I fucked up three different times yesterday (I jest). So while I love stats, I'd rather a damage, buff, or debuff meter be for private use, and compare individual data against AT and Powerset averages instead of individuals in your team, sg, or league.
  10. Granted I've been on these forums for damn near 4 years, I can't recall seeing much us vs. them. Most of the regulars are fairly helpful and welcoming to newcomers. I don't mind the rep not appearing as I didn't really care one way or another about it.
  11. Sub 30 minutes is attainable if everyone is equally contributing and hauling ass.
  12. It should be common practice to advertise the difficulty level and whether it's a speed, kill most, kill all, etc whenever anyone forms a TF. I typically run casual speed TFs at +0 so incarnate xp is gained for those that need it since -1 doesn't award incarnate xp. For premade speed TFs to minimize time I'll do -1, otherwise if we want a challenge+4. Otherwise I occasionally recruit for hard mode stuff when I have time to actually play.
  13. I would suggest looking into @Sir Myshkin's mad bomber builds. They typically leverage the force feedback proc to maximum effect.
  14. You could potentially build for M & R mind you it's not cheap. Then you can position yourself as necessary.
  15. This week we delve into the state of third party mods or related programs. Do you use any third party mods for this game? If so which ones? How have they impacted the way you play? Without them is the game unplayable/unenjoyable? Have you helped others learn about or use them? Personally I've used Vidiots maps for years, and same with Mods (and it's variants). I tried to use a mod that tracked XP and influence gained per hour to track my efficiency back when I cared about that (it's been awhile so I don't even remember the name of it). I'm a big advocate of nice maps, as I deal with maps professionally all the time, GIS anyone? Mids really helped people learn how to min-max their toons better, and I'm a min-maxer at heart. I only occasionally use mids though anymore as I've made enough builds that I have most of what I typically build for memorized at this point. Thanks again.
  16. I do alright as I have an MPA and a JD as well. I still want to go back to school for a DPA or a PhD but that is on the back burner a bit until the baby gets older.
  17. You can go even further back to 458 BCE with Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy. Essentially Clytemnestra takes another lover while her husband King Agamemnon is fighting in the Trojan war because she's pissed at Agamemnon for sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia at the behest of the Oracle prior to voyaging to Troy for the war. Upon his return he also has a new concubine named Cassandra (who is worried about a vision from Apollo foretelling of Agamemnon and her death). Inside the palace Clytemnestra stabs Agamemnon and Cassandra to death in a bathtub. Clytemnestra's lover Aegisthus moves into the palace and the two claim to have all the power and disinherit the children of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra (Orestes and Electra). The Electra is forced to essentially live as a slave. Years later Orestes returns to Argos under orders from the God Apollo to avenge his father. He gets help from his cousin Phiades and reunites with his sister. Orestes and Electra concoct a plan to avenge their father. Orestes hesitates killing his mother but his cousin reminds him that Apollo ordered it. the furies get pissed at him for committing matricide. Apollo intervenes and let's Orestes escape to Athens under protection from Hermes. Clytemnestra's ghost begs the furies for justice. They go to Athena who sets up the first trial by jury. The jury is split 6-6, so Athena casts the deciding vote to spare Orestes. Sorry for the super long post. One of my majors in college was theatre and another was humanities so I nerd out a bit with Classical Greek literature.
  18. When I "solo" the Synapse TF, it's almost always when it's the weekly, and I'll launch it with all three of my accounts, and have the other two only show up for Babbage and the final mission to maximize my reward merits gain. So I'll set up my second and third character near the south skyway tram so they are close to Babbage's usual spawn points based on the preceding mission, but also close to the final mission's location. I usually call out Babbage's spawn just to give people a chance at getting the merits for it, but occasionally I'll tag Babbage with 1 attack each from my 2nd/3rd character and solo it with a toon if my intent is to test my build solo against it.
  19. That's exactly why the summoned demons on old school infernal mission don't award XP. When they first came out people used to sit there with a fire tank with burn on auto and have the bridge and sk back at mission entrance. The tank would never kill Infernal.
  20. Nice way of using your resources. I've tried soloing it a couple times and it's pretty rough in a straight up fight.
  21. Here's the biggest drawback, if you switch builds you have no enhancements. So my VEATS that have three builds I've had to IO all three of their builds. It adds up a bit to find you're IOing three characters at once.
  22. It also works well as a tanker due to an easier time getting incarnate soft caps for defense.
  23. Luckily enough @Snarky does not have a life, he's undead. Just don't expose him to garlic or sunlight and we should be good.
  24. I've never played a fire/fire combo. I typically always mix and match. That said a fire/fire blaster can be amazing if it has a good driver.
  25. Following the tangent: This post is making me want to go to the gym. Sadly I'm on baby duty so I can't. I guess push-ups, sit-ups, side straddle hops, and flutter kicks will have to do. I had to Google the ratio of pounds to stones, and most I ever lost in a month was 24 pounds (1.7 stone) using HIIT, intermittent fasting, and a Paleo diet paired with a side of light running 3x 5k's a week. Correcting course: yeah it does seem to be a something akin to a script kiddie. Mostly harmless unless someone is stupid, but annoying. Reminds me of the old days of AOL chatbots like Fate and prior to that firing up the old war dialer.
