I'd replace beanbag with an Aim variant called Reload that gives your AR powers 50% reduced recharge while under the effects of Reload, standardize the arcs on all the cones to be 45°, increase the damage on the M30 grenade, and make it so Full Auto would have a 100% recharge reduction while under Reload. Perhaps using Full Auto under Reload costs more endurance?

Why does every TF have to be a +0 snooze fest?
SeraphimKensai replied to FungalGrowth's topic in General Discussion
The solution is to have rewards scale with difficulty. If some of us have endless supplies of influence already, then doing a tf that nets 20 reward merits at +0 or -1, that takes say 20 minutes to complete vs a +4 version which nets 20 merits that takes 1 hour to complete it seems like a waste of time unless the player is specifically trying various challenges. So perhaps having reward merits or recipe drop rates scale higher the more difficult the setting would be cause for consideration for some of us efficiency experts. -
This would require some adapting to a stalker, but the linked build is a pvp spines/Regen scrapper from Xhiggy's spreadsheet: http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1504&c=694&a=1388&f=HEX&dc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

I find Synapse TFs go faster if I quasi solo them (all three of my accounts with either dps or debuffs for Babbage and the King), I play the majority of the tf solo and then log in the alt accounts when it's merit payday to maximize my reward merit haul. Due to the increased reward for myself, I'm more likely to do it that way rather then having mixed results with pugging (although I still run quite a few pug groups).

@oedipus_texdid you ever build this? I recently started one (last night) and have been theory crafting a couple variants. Incidentally I arrived at the same power pool choices, albeit slight variation in the power picks. Mathematically the potential this kind of pairing is pretty solid.

At work so I don't have access to mids, but... Gale imo is better than o2 boost, you can 2 slot it with a kb to kd IO and a Force Feedback proc, and it works as a pretty good damage mitigation tool. Mind you since you're /energy blast, it's usefulness may be a bit redundant. Thunderclap is useful if you have another source of stun to stack with it, as TC has a mag 2 stun it won't stun bosses on its own. Tornado is an amazing damage tool, however it really requires a kb to kd IO so that mobs don't get tossed from it and it can maximize how many damage ticks it does on a target or targets. Energy Torrent is similar in design to Gale, although the cone is 45° vs Gale's 80°. Energy Torrent does a little more damage though, i would have one or the other personally and I like Gale's Arc better. Explosive Blast isn't the most damage but it's useful for it's AoE potential. You have a choice on a storm/energy defender. You can go ham on KB and if you master it will make you a better player, but requires significant positioning to effectively use some of your powers. A vast majority of the player base though will not have patience for you to do that especially if you're not a master at it to begin with as it can scatter mobs and slow the XP and influence/hour. You can pay in as a power tax to change kb to kd, and it does have some good usefulness, however it's going to prevent you from 6 slot bonusing on any power you put a kb to kd enhancement in. A tip, if you are hovering above your targets and hit them from above, you can smash them into the ground, otherwise positioning mobs to be in a choke point like a room with no exit or a corner can be a good use of kb, just communicate your intent with whatever team you might be on. Otherwise solo, wreck chaos.

https://cod.uberguy.net/html/powerset.html?pset=defender_buff.trick_arrow&at=defender It is a debuffing powerhouse, plus fairly offensive with OSA, and has cc protection with EMP arrow for your whole team. You could pair it with /sonic if you wanted more -res, but it does a pretty decent amount on its own as is.

Doing this about 90% of the player base will be using Frenzy for it's global recharge reduction. It's one of the few things that help lure players to redside.
-
Only way I could see it working is a TP Foe temp power (high acc and mag high enough for say an elite boss) with say a 20 minute CD so that people don't exploit it and chain use.

knockback HOW can we stop mobs being blasted into walls?
SeraphimKensai replied to Herotu's topic in General Discussion
Regarding geometry alone.... I've had instances where using a powexec_location target macro has spawned things under the geometry like oil slick, tar patch, etc. Which seems odd that that occurs, but it does when using such a macro intermittently. We've all had mobs get stuck in walls or ceilings before as well. We've all had escort NPCs get caught in cave map walls as well. And for the more old school PvP community I remember many a day where someone would hide inside a geometric tear in the woods to try and not get killed, until they realized that most of us knew how to get back there as well. There is clearly issues with some geometry and although it's not widespread it's still noticable, whether or not this can be resolved via a simple fix to address all geometry related issues, or it has to continue to be addressed on a case by case basis I'm not sure. Regarding knock back...you may have seen my posts in various knock back related suggestions to add bonus damage to distance that a target is knocked back, as it seems kinda silly for a game involving superheroes and supervillains to not have mobs getting knocked on their asses. -
Why are edits noted? I mean, who cares?

As someone who has been to war and back, I can confirm that any video game related anything is small stuff. -

I have a robo/time, robo/ea, and robo/kin that I use for a three character meteor clear team.

Traps is super useful, but not as a buff bot. It's one of the premier sets it the game for debuffing especially hard targets. But yes having fold space on a traps character is a great idea if you can fit it in. Invis can be achieved with superspeed and a stealth io in sprint, saving you the pool for leadership/tough as they get great modifiers being a defender.

Or mission teleporter right to the door.

I personally don't like the begging in LFG and such myself. As you mentioned there's ignore, but I try to save ignore for the true assholes of the game and don't use it sparingly. I end up just willing myself to immediately forget that I saw their begging. That said in this day and age as long as someone has updated their PC in say the last 10 years and they aren't using a Chromebook or have internet from Hughs.net then they can reasonably dual box at a minimum. I find myself using my three accounts to have an afk farmer work maps, a lowbie in the map to get xp and recipe drops, while playing content on another character, and just alt tab as I zone out of missions to reset the map. It took me literally about 8-10 hours to lvl up my first fire farmer solo in the AE from lvl 1-50, and slot it. I used that toon to level up a farmer one each of the other 2 accounts, and then made some off the wall farmers like blasters and a team of MM's just to play around with it. But having a farm map running in the background while I run the Freakolympics or Dr. Quarterfield or something has gotten me about a third of the lvl 50s I had back on live. I don't really anticipate getting back up to 382 lvl 50s, but I've passively put a good dent back into it, while getting a ton of influence, salvage, and IO recipes to fuel my marketing desires I'm probably a bit of an outlier though when trying to consider your typical CoX gamer, but farming yourself alts is not a lot of work, and fairly lucrative, and doesn't make me feel like a leech. That said the player base will do what they want regarding farming. That said there's some really great story arcs on the AE that aren't farms, and then you have @Linea's missions for when you really want to test a build's mettle.

I'd suggest trying for an elec/elec domi. Everything is sapped unable to really do much of anything, and you just keep on zapping on.

I was born to be a gamblin' man. I like to buy super packs, and open them like people wagering their paychecks on them to see how it goes. I usually end up making a decent profit but it can vary.
-
I guess that they would inflate towards the price ranges seen on the live servers, where it wasn't uncommon for fully IOing a toon might range from 8-12 billion influence.
-
I think @The_Warpacthas a keen point. If xp is removed from AE, then people will go to other servers and negatively affect player population.

Sorry about the delay. I got wrapped up helping the wife today. As such instead of only offering suggestions, I'll share my build for mine as well that I use on live. Built for Perma PA, w/ S/L/E defenses + thdb from ST. Very proc loaded with blind, caltrops, and poison trap. Built with Foldspace as well for tripmine/caltrops and boom. This build works pretty well for soloing monsters and av's. You'll notice the temp powers down below. I usually keep them available for when the character might be doing a lower level taskforce that they lose out on Scorpion Shield, or for incarnate content.
-
I'll check your build when I have a chance after church, also known as the Stanley Cup. I have an Ill/traps that runs Perma PA.
-
It's a buildup that also boosts the strength of your mezzes in addition to your damage and tohit and any defense buffs. So yeah it's a no-brainer if you go with that set.
-
Always chase recharge to have permadom. After that defense for survivability is good. World of confusion has like an 8 foot range and low mag so it's only really useful when stacking with other source of confuse. You'll likely take more attacks then what will be your attack chain, but you can set mule as necessary. Grav is really good at locking things down with singularity. Energy assault is decent, you can mitigate knock back with imobs, and you get a power build up. Ice control is good control but low damage. Dark control is great. Dark assault alright. /Psi assault is a really good set.
