Atlas Park Theme Remake Comparison Video (New Mod)
Without_Pause replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
It feels like the perky little sidekick sister version of the original. I won't say it's bad, but I think I would use it elsewhere in the game with a different composition. This could be very Pocket D worthy. -
Since WP is such a mix bag of things, In terms of IO sets and Incarnates I would work on filling in resist as needed, def, and then recharge depending on how much you think you need for your attack chain. Odds are regen and end recovery gets covered from WP, epics, IO sets, and Incarnates. The only con I have for WP on a stalker is the lower resist and HP cap on stalkers versus brutes and tanks, so it might not be "the best" from a min/max stand point. In short, Accolades, IOs, and Incarnates make it difficult to find a bad secondary if you invest in it. I've never really seen WP as ever really being bad for the given AT. Compare Ice as an example. Part of the issue in determining what is best is what the goal of the build is and how much are you willing to invest in it in the end. I prefer sets which are fun out of the gate versus waiting to hit 50 and then letting IOs and Incarnates make the build fun. People can talk about how world breaking an endgame TW/bio scrapper is and yet I don't (waits for Momentum) have the patience for it. Give me a StJ stalker at 10 with ATO procs and that's a good time right there. A build being fun at 50 isn't useful to me if it isn't fun getting to 50. /shield gets a ton of love. /ea is more fun leveling, so that's the one I have at 50. Note, I do have some of those builds but the only one which has hit 50 is my blue bar sucking Plant/storm, but yay for Cardiac and still being fun enough to see 50.

Sturgill is an interesting artist in that his albums completely change genres between them while still being stellar at each of them. He absolutely tore up SNL. For my playstyle: Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue Fuel - Metallica Wherever I Roam also works for me.

https://forums.homecomingservers.com/fotm-powers/ For scrappers, Initial Strike and Confront are the ones least likely to be taken although IS is just over 50%. My guess is those who skip it have IOed out the build. I still have it on my stalker and I could see getting rid of it later on depending on how the build plays out. It is nice to have early for attack chain purposes and combo building early on. Confront is well, Confront. Grant Cover and One With the Shield rank the lowest here, but both are over 50%. One With the Shield is over 60%. Grant Cover is the lowest since it doesn't directly help the character and scrappers are known for their soloing. I have some Shield characters but none at 50 so none IOed out or anything, but I can see at best skipping the two mentioned for StJ and going from there with this build. In terms of leveling, just skip Confront. I made two StJ stalkers and one was Shield. The first one used Energy Aura. EA was more fun to level, hence it hit 50. I know Shield will work out but it feels like it needs more investment to get there currently sitting at 37. I simply keep the Shield version around for when I get the urge later on. StJ is legit Top 3 for me so I see no reason for the combo to not work out in the end. StJ with either scrapper or stalker ATO procs is going to be tons of fun. * Obviously pick your travel power and the fighting pool feels like a giving with Maneuvers being a standard fill in. I would go Body for Epic, but that could be played with. I'm not the one to confirm that though.

A data point for the sake of data. My farmer solo farms +2/x8 on common IOs. I tried doing the Comic Con 5 mission arc PLing a new character to see how it goes as I am just starting to dip into Incarnates. I still need to adjust better, but it was doable. I ended up +1 and the level 1 ended up level 27.8. Obviously I could do +3/x8 now and that would earn even more XP for a new build. If someone is okay with getting a build essentially to level 28 after a run, it is certainly can be done on commons if not more so with the level boost. Getting them to 50 will obviously be doable, but I would much rather run it at +3 or +4 for the sake of time.

You might need to log out here and then go through registration again. I can't recall, but I believe I have two forum accounts even if they aren't both needed. I never use the other one. Just note when dual boxing you need to be playing under the threshold for the recommended server count, which is 1.5K.
-
Also, if you have questions, just try it and see how it goes. I died a lot on my journey and I'm still learning. No one is there to see you fail unless you wan them to be. Just note each added character slows down your personal drop rate for inspirs. So yes, it is harder to farm even adding in one single character.

I double checked, you can select Blazing Aura at level two. Brutes with damage auras using fury is a beautiful thing. Grab the 2x XP boosters and go kill something to hit level 2. Grab the aura and follow the list from there. My Spines/fire has never teamed outside of dual boxing with my own characters and PLed herself to 50. About the only other note worthy thing is managing inspirs and more so early on when you have room for so few. It is actually better to hit level 3 before trying to farm due to this factor. It is okay to hit up the vendor inside of a mission as well. The last two times you level where inspir storage increases is 25 and 40. You will want to use the P2W vendor to restrict inspirs drops to what you want. I filled up on purples, reds, and blues while leveling. At peak, you should be fine with just reds for drops. * The vendor inside AE. There's no vendor inside the actual mission. His starting point is a bit different but the "Bad" space map will get you to 5-6 faster than pretty much anything else. I haven't run his specific map, but the "Comic Con" one to me is the standard. There are obviously others, but some of them might be intentionally harder to where they are more for builds who can handle the extra load of lets say having EBs in them or being extra boss heavy. I tried a boss heavy one at the time of where my build was at and got smashed for it. If you ever feel the need to dual box, you will want to look into maps where mobs don't wander or just have a character who can stay stealthed, ie a stalker. Also, there is a 1,500 online accounts limit, IIRC, you have to be under when dual boxing as doing so hogs resources so you might want to check the server status before going in. AE is well know for how much resources it takes to run. Finally, they nerfed XP in AE, but using 2X XP boosters still makes leveling easy. I dual boxed a level 1 to 20 in 2-3 runs running only on +2/x8. I should be able to run +3/x8 tonight or tomorrow. The forum link listed above is what I use as reference.

I would argue ones which lose their AoE for AS.
-
Rad has -def and since Kin needs to hit, Rad will mesh together better. Since Ice was mentioned, I would 100% go Ice/kin corr in that case as the rain powers are way better on a corr.

If they don't know what AE is, they might not now about changing their difficulty setting. An "Idiot's Guide to Spines/fire Farming." Make a Spines/fire brute. Grab eight 2x XP boosters. Do one run in AE of the "Bad" space map. You now are level 5. Grab the damage aura. Change your diff sitting to -1/xY with Y being whatever you are comfortable with. Search for "Fire" or "Comic Con" mission in AE and run the space map version until your eyes bleed and then some more. As you add inspir slots and powers, increase diff. A basic level 50 should be able to do +2/x8. Get your Alpha Incarnate slot to Tier 3 asap after locking it and you now are 50 +1. Bump diff setting to +3/x8. As you add in more Incarnate abilities and IO sets you can up to +4/x8. Congrats, you have been assimilated and now are part of the Spines/fire brute Borg. Fire/kin still remains the leader in terms of controller builds and it isn't that close, so yes, it still works and that/those old map(s) which people still do run are still around. It's just in terms of farming specifically, the game has literally changed.

Difficulty in CoH: Community Discussion
Without_Pause replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in General Discussion
Too easy. Level 50 Non-Incarnate content with Incarnates, I feel this the most on controllers as things get decimated so quickly, why control? Level 50 +4 teams can get filled super quickly because it is essentially farming without the mind-numbing repetition. Counter point, some +4 AVs can give PUGs fits to where it feels more like a slog than fun. Too hard, or at least annoying. Soloing sub level 22 for the obvious reason of lack of decent slotting. I think the balance overall is fairly good outside of the outliers. -
I'm leaning towards deleting mine, but it is simply too useful right now and getting Incarnate stuff to make it easier is easy enough to do. I'm trying to lean on the idea of any new character fends for themselves, but that can be hard. I'm pretty sure my Earth/earth dom could use three procs right now, but she's dirt(pun) poor.

I teamed with someone who gave purples to those who teamed with them. Yesterday someone was willing to send others a complete set of common IOs for their build since they were working on badges.
-
Get a character to 50 so they can get off that 2x XP crack. Play said character. A lot. 20+ characters hooked on 2x XP isn't helping you. Use the AH for further benefit. Sell. Sell, Sell. I used to horde things for when I needed it. Now? I cleared out four racks of salvage and intent to fully clear out all of my characters and buy as needed. Convert. Convert. Convert. I like playing my stalker more than I due my farmer so at one point the stalker almost overtook the farmer in terms of influence until I got distracted by ATOs.
-
You ever roll the build? I have mine at 50 and it is my main/namesake, but I haven't invested it it yet. I have been playing it and decided I need a rework for a common IO level and figured out my alpha. Also kind of bumping to see if others have feedback,

You can dump a number of procs into a Storm/water and /water has a heal which fills a need on a Storm. It is one of the few builds I don't do as I have those sets at 50 and Storm twice via controllers. Storm/dark also has nice potential. Plant/storm again adds healing and is a freaking beast when it comes together. It was one of my initial three builds I deemed I would make sure to invest in once it hit 50. I, uh, got distracted as per usual. I think my pick for a solo blaster would be Ice/time with Water right there. Dark/shield stalker will be great as is in current form and even better once the Dark changes go live. I have no qualms soloing on my StJ/ea. The ATO with a chance to Hide helps a lot.

Which Control Hybrid Power do you choose and why?
Without_Pause replied to Tamorand's topic in Controller
Did you copy/paste this from somewhere? It is the only reason I can think of. -
I know paragonwiki isn't updated, but the -recharge isn't listed.
-
Thanks. I think one of the things I am wondering about is skipping the tank default attack and working the attack chain around the other attacks since it certainly feels like I could get by with one less attack, but that obviously changes how the bonuses play out. I'm also aware I could still take it, but simply not use it if the attack chain works out that way. There is also the issue of what other power I would take in its place. Factor in Hasten being in the build so I figure that default attack doesn't get used much unless you exempt down.
-
Update. I got a WM/bio scrapper to 18 and a Kat/elec brute to 23. WM is a bit slow for my taste, as in the attack chain needs to wait for 26+ for it to smooth out. Damage itself is very good. More so depending if I am in OA, so if you don't mind the slower development of the build, then I can see WH being worth looking into. Lightning Reflexes certainly would help WH's attack chain. Kat/elec has been near perfect glee though. Getting enhancements at 22 helped a lot as I could bleed end, but Kat's attack chain is tight which helps build fury, add in Lightning Reflexes for +recharge and +running speed, and I've found it to be incredibly fun. Again, I did Claws to 50 twice so I'm not busting tail to make a Claws/elec, but damn that would be fun as I've never done Claws with a set which gives it +recharge. FYI, I've done Kat to 50 on Live with a Kat/sr which I really did like so I know what to expect. It's just the playing it again after a number of years and being reminded just how smooth it is out of the box.

Well, it's no "Thunderstruck." 😄 In case people think I hate techno based music, uh no. A good chuck of the songs on my workout mix on Youtube are techno based, but you know, good. 🤣
-
Wait, you posted AC/DC and then in response you posted some crap techno song as a way to recover? #ban FYI, way back in the day of the Front Page Sports football game, I nicknamed a team Storm and before every game I played I would crank the live version of "Thunderstruck."

Seeking new and interesting builds to try...

One of the most fun rides to 50 was my StJ/ea stalker, -
What primaries benefit the most from scourge?
Without_Pause replied to King Kog's topic in Corruptor
With four procs that defender isn't getting the same set bonuses a corr would.
