  1. I feel like there is a sliver of DIBs being run compared to DFBs. I would suggest, and more so for new players, to get some contacts and run their missions while seeing who wants to join. As a vet, radios are boring as hell but an advantage since you stay in the same zone. If you aren't running things like Frostfire, the Croatoa zone, and some lesser used these days zones, you are missing out. Also don't be afraid to try out as many builds as possible and be willing to start over. I think I tried out 4-5 yesterday before picking two and I've played the game on Live and here for 8+ years and I feel like I tend to know what works going in, My softball estimate is I've rolled 70+ characters. I wouldn't question if it was 100+.
  2. "I can solo AVs and GMs but damn this bush!"
  3. I've gotten better at it. Clicking on inspirs though. I don't know the numbers but outside out super quick deaths which are very few, it feels like all other are me sitting there clicking on one and seeing me faceplant.
  4. Siphon Speed would also be far more useful if it included -recharge.
  5. I only got /rad to 29 so I can't comment too much. It can be clicky. I haven't played WM, but the animations and rep for the set are really good. I absolutely love Claws and Claws/elec is one of the more popular combos. I would probably make one if I hadn't done Claws twice to 50 already.
  6. I'll take StJ over Kin due to Kin's animation times. StJ is even better on a stalker, but still more desirable to me on a scrapper versus Kin.
  7. Clicking on inspirs, them not being used, and promptly dying.
  8. Outsmart Mind/time controller. There will be eternal debate if I want it to be a controller or a dom as I lean controller, but for the sake of diversity and in damage types I might go dom in the end. I think a Mind/dark would be good for smoothing out damage types although I don't really plan on soloing it.
  9. The problem with a pylon test is it is a single unmovable(to my knowledge) target. Ill/storm is going to knock stuff all over the place in terms of missions which in turn lowers its DPS. Also, DPS is damage/second. Nothing there specifically states what is being looked as is the best single target damage. Even if Ill/storm puts out the highest single target damage via a pylon, that still doesn't create a realistic test of what is happening in a mission where there are mobs. Defender speed is irrelevant when the topic is about controllers. Kin isn't difficult to slot. It gains less from IOs than other sets do. I concede that point. Fire/kin or /storm is going to put out the highest in mission DPS since one could crank the diff setting to x8 and run with it.
  10. Fire should still win out. I might still lean on /kin still being the ideal. Not to knock /storm or even plant, but Fire/kins are #1 in player usage with having roughly 3x the next build. Yes, those are created for farming a number of times, but in that case damage is what's important and the OP isn't asking for overall soloist, etc.
  11. Deadpool is based off of Deathstroke. Claws/regen is still more popular than Claws/wp, even on brutes. I got mine to 50, but I haven't looked at making a build yet. I believe someone posted one some months ago so you might want to do a search for it.
  12. Rad/invul would give you one.
  13. Solo or a team? I don't see how /kin isn't the winner in a team situation.
  14. Damage aura and the T9 makes it on the easier side for me. 1. Claws. 2. Rad. 3. StJ. Rad might move up. Other primaries honestly need some play. Kat I did on a scrapper so I know I will like it. I just haven't officially done it as a brute. Rankings are also as a brute. StJ moves up if we add in other melee ATs, see stalker.
  15. The only real benefit in a scrapper would be the damage aura which would in part be the main thing you add to a steam rolling team. . I'm not sure it makes it better. I honestly don't judge certain builds or ATs based on steam rolling teams. I have controllers who feel like poor defenders on certain teams. The benefit for me playing a stalker is being able to farm missions for merits and Incarnate salvage.
  16. WP doesn't have a click power to break up Momentum so that's where I would lean. Outside of how every powerset has a weakness, I find my /wp brute rather sturdy and it is early in their level 50 journey.
  17. That's a lot of data to miss the actual point of Regen. How does WP do with its click heals? The point of Regen was never to have mitigation equal to others sets. The point was regen and its heals made up for its lack of mitigation.
  18. Power gamers are going to exists. You can nerf one set or buff another and people will just move to what power games the best. Do we really want something like a Ice/ff controller farming at the speed of a Rad/fire brute? Is that the ideal of everyone can do everything equally? I honestly prefer how various ATs and builds serve different purposes. FYI, partly due to me not taking a control power in my epic, soloing my Spines/fire to unlock the Patron Power Pool was one of the most painful things I have done in game and that includes soloing defenders and lower level controllers to where I simply auto completed the mission on one controller.
  19. The forthcoming Dark changes and potential changes later on would let me keep it around even if the buzzsaw style of build has essentially kicked the bucket. At least wait for changes in procs and the Dark change to hit live and go from there. I don't like Shadow Maul in its current form, but I made a Dark/shield specifically because of the forthcoming change. I never got my Dark/elec brute to 50 on Live so it was one build I was looking to create here, but there are new powersets I got distracted by. I remember a EB kicking my tail and then going back in with him back at full health, me out of inspirs, and pulling it off. Damn that felt good.
  20. /temp. You get an added way to help with the health bar along with Dark or Water. More AoE for Ice. Another hold for Ice so you can stack it on a boss. I have a Water/temp/cold who is about as care free a character I have.
  21. I'm ashamed I didn't recall this until now. Frostfire. The sections where players slide back and forth on the ice. Maybe the earliest mission where players got to go, "Dude, this is awesome."
  22. If I wanted to do recorded video for a bug, I wouldn't post it unless they wanted confirmation and then I wouldn't list it in your Youtube channel if that indeed is what you used. Detailed info via a description should be enough. I wouldn't touch a video for suggestions. That's way too much poking the bear for my sake. I prefer the golden rue of "If you have to ask, then the answer is no."
  23. Decided it was silly for me to have multiple items to store salvage in my base and more so since I vastly moved to a different server. I'm just going to buy as needed for my characters. Needless to say I dumped a ton of yellow salvage on the market for cheap last night. I only got about half way done before logging.
  24. First AT which lead my to soloing, I think damage/survival is great. Primaries I like include Claws, StJ, Kat, and Rad, but I need to look at others as I can assume I would like just about all of them although BS is on the slow side and TW needs Momentum. Dark post fix will likely be added to my favorites list. I have a feeling WM would be added to the list if I ever rolled one. Scrappers are in a very good spot now even if a good amount of my love for them went to brutes and stalkers. Kin is just too long in animation times. I want to inject that powerset into my veins, but I just can't. See comment about soloing. I played a lot of support on Live so scrappers finally clicking for me was nice. Also, the pile of dead bodies and the ability just to try out stupid scrapper tricks. I forgot to add, I can't think of a secondary which stands out for me. Regen was my first love, but the set is helped a lot these days with IO sets.
  25. I have a hard time thinking of what sets really need all 9 powers. There is also the issue of slots. I could skip one and pick up Hasten knowing I could simply slot it with two level 50 commons and have that be enough. 9-9-3 rule leaves very little choice in picking from Epics and more so since you need to have at least one power to get the other one you really need. Oddly enough I rolled a Kin/sonic again and can see keeping Assault even after FS since it will he helpful for AVs.
