  1. I teamed with someone who gave purples to those who teamed with them. Yesterday someone was willing to send others a complete set of common IOs for their build since they were working on badges.
  2. Get a character to 50 so they can get off that 2x XP crack. Play said character. A lot. 20+ characters hooked on 2x XP isn't helping you. Use the AH for further benefit. Sell. Sell, Sell. I used to horde things for when I needed it. Now? I cleared out four racks of salvage and intent to fully clear out all of my characters and buy as needed. Convert. Convert. Convert. I like playing my stalker more than I due my farmer so at one point the stalker almost overtook the farmer in terms of influence until I got distracted by ATOs.
  3. You ever roll the build? I have mine at 50 and it is my main/namesake, but I haven't invested it it yet. I have been playing it and decided I need a rework for a common IO level and figured out my alpha. Also kind of bumping to see if others have feedback,
  4. You can dump a number of procs into a Storm/water and /water has a heal which fills a need on a Storm. It is one of the few builds I don't do as I have those sets at 50 and Storm twice via controllers. Storm/dark also has nice potential. Plant/storm again adds healing and is a freaking beast when it comes together. It was one of my initial three builds I deemed I would make sure to invest in once it hit 50. I, uh, got distracted as per usual. I think my pick for a solo blaster would be Ice/time with Water right there. Dark/shield stalker will be great as is in current form and even better once the Dark changes go live. I have no qualms soloing on my StJ/ea. The ATO with a chance to Hide helps a lot.

  7. Thanks. I think one of the things I am wondering about is skipping the tank default attack and working the attack chain around the other attacks since it certainly feels like I could get by with one less attack, but that obviously changes how the bonuses play out. I'm also aware I could still take it, but simply not use it if the attack chain works out that way. There is also the issue of what other power I would take in its place. Factor in Hasten being in the build so I figure that default attack doesn't get used much unless you exempt down.
  8. Update. I got a WM/bio scrapper to 18 and a Kat/elec brute to 23. WM is a bit slow for my taste, as in the attack chain needs to wait for 26+ for it to smooth out. Damage itself is very good. More so depending if I am in OA, so if you don't mind the slower development of the build, then I can see WH being worth looking into. Lightning Reflexes certainly would help WH's attack chain. Kat/elec has been near perfect glee though. Getting enhancements at 22 helped a lot as I could bleed end, but Kat's attack chain is tight which helps build fury, add in Lightning Reflexes for +recharge and +running speed, and I've found it to be incredibly fun. Again, I did Claws to 50 twice so I'm not busting tail to make a Claws/elec, but damn that would be fun as I've never done Claws with a set which gives it +recharge. FYI, I've done Kat to 50 on Live with a Kat/sr which I really did like so I know what to expect. It's just the playing it again after a number of years and being reminded just how smooth it is out of the box.

  13. I feel like there is a sliver of DIBs being run compared to DFBs. I would suggest, and more so for new players, to get some contacts and run their missions while seeing who wants to join. As a vet, radios are boring as hell but an advantage since you stay in the same zone. If you aren't running things like Frostfire, the Croatoa zone, and some lesser used these days zones, you are missing out. Also don't be afraid to try out as many builds as possible and be willing to start over. I think I tried out 4-5 yesterday before picking two and I've played the game on Live and here for 8+ years and I feel like I tend to know what works going in, My softball estimate is I've rolled 70+ characters. I wouldn't question if it was 100+.

  15. I've gotten better at it. Clicking on inspirs though. I don't know the numbers but outside out super quick deaths which are very few, it feels like all other are me sitting there clicking on one and seeing me faceplant.
  16. Siphon Speed would also be far more useful if it included -recharge.
  17. I only got /rad to 29 so I can't comment too much. It can be clicky. I haven't played WM, but the animations and rep for the set are really good. I absolutely love Claws and Claws/elec is one of the more popular combos. I would probably make one if I hadn't done Claws twice to 50 already.
  18. I'll take StJ over Kin due to Kin's animation times. StJ is even better on a stalker, but still more desirable to me on a scrapper versus Kin.

  20. Outsmart Mind/time controller. There will be eternal debate if I want it to be a controller or a dom as I lean controller, but for the sake of diversity and in damage types I might go dom in the end. I think a Mind/dark would be good for smoothing out damage types although I don't really plan on soloing it.
  21. The problem with a pylon test is it is a single unmovable(to my knowledge) target. Ill/storm is going to knock stuff all over the place in terms of missions which in turn lowers its DPS. Also, DPS is damage/second. Nothing there specifically states what is being looked as is the best single target damage. Even if Ill/storm puts out the highest single target damage via a pylon, that still doesn't create a realistic test of what is happening in a mission where there are mobs. Defender speed is irrelevant when the topic is about controllers. Kin isn't difficult to slot. It gains less from IOs than other sets do. I concede that point. Fire/kin or /storm is going to put out the highest in mission DPS since one could crank the diff setting to x8 and run with it.
  22. Fire should still win out. I might still lean on /kin still being the ideal. Not to knock /storm or even plant, but Fire/kins are #1 in player usage with having roughly 3x the next build. Yes, those are created for farming a number of times, but in that case damage is what's important and the OP isn't asking for overall soloist, etc.
  23. Deadpool is based off of Deathstroke. Claws/regen is still more popular than Claws/wp, even on brutes. I got mine to 50, but I haven't looked at making a build yet. I believe someone posted one some months ago so you might want to do a search for it.
  24. Rad/invul would give you one.
  25. Solo or a team? I don't see how /kin isn't the winner in a team situation.
