For brutes, min/max picks would be EM for ST or Rad for AoE. I know it is better on a Stalker, but I still love how StJ flows so that's up there for me. Claws is always good outside of a Stalker. Again, not as good on a Stalker, but Ice is really solid. Adding Ice Patch to EA's defenses just makes it a really sturdy build. Dark offers perma Soul Drain and two ways for end recovery and to heal.

You can earn crafting badges for the common IOs. This means you won't need the recipe and the crafting cost goes down. You ultimately are looking at 2-3 pieces of common salvage which can be had on the market for cheap and the reduced crafting cost. There was a decent market for getting the badges and selling the IOs on live but not so here.

Curious, have you teamed with them? I have. It is why at no point have I flat out said they are a troll. They have built in ideas of how games like CoH should be played. Unfortunately CoH doesn't play in those ways. They are also fundamentally ignorant of various aspects of the game. See them asking about the recharge time on an auto power. They have also responded to posts in General and in AT specific ones. You know this because you even gave a reaction to a post in which the OP was adding replies to one of their threads. Said thread was created even before this one which makes your comment about them finally responding to replies being a bit odd. They also don't directly respond to claims of them being a troll. Even in this very thread they quoted you about their finally responding to people and they mentioned getting back to the topic at hand. You may think whatever you will of them, but they do actually want to talk about the game and learn about it. FYI, trolls don't respond positively to helpful information which the OP has. They also don't tend to come back and report updates of using said advise.

I can see a case for Kin even if I still take Hasten on it. Savage/rad I can see not using it simply due to have much recharge the build has by default.

Level 25 common IOs can be done for dirt cheap and don't need to be switched out. Once you are done with a build, you can do a respec on the build and store those IOs for the next character. At some point, you shouldn't have to really buy anything.* * The same can be said if you use the rarer IOs, but that's a much larger task.

They've read replies. They just don't reply to when people call them trolls or ultimately call them out when something genuinely don't make sense, ie their Beats/cold can't solo at +0/x1 even with poor slotting and someone does it with no slotting.

To add, for Scrappers I would go EA, Shield, or Stone based on current reviews. I currently have no hands-on exp with Stone although that is likely to change. SR is certainly good, but if I'm going to labor through end issues and a click mezz, I would rather invest in Shield with the added damage. It isn't that a resist set is bad, but I would rather have a bigger bag of HP to deal with in that case. Bio would be one of the few resist sets I would do on a Scrapper. A Rad/stone might be a nice compromise on a Rad/bio.

I believe this is the one I used. It has been some time ago. I hardly play my farmer these days. Ultimately it was an interesting experiment, but the boredom takes over, and I can earn far far more via the Market in terms of currency over time. I even stopped using it to PL my own guys. Honestly, this is an odd experiment for someone whos say they retire a build after hitting 40.

Some of us are just tired of the BS. I did the inspir before entering mistake as well, but it was a quick lesson, and I moved on. I also know enough to know how meaningless 130% def is in this game. Could have saved those inspirs when they saw how they weren't there after entering. Also, not sure if it was used because Ukase nor the OP mentioned it, but 2x XP booster is a factor here since you can level so much the leveling inspirs can carry you though those early levels. Again, I have gone from 1-50 solo farming a Spines/fire Brute and didn't slot anything until 22. I mean, MAYBE at 15 for common IOs, but certainly not at 7. EDIT: I didn't use marcos either.

Counterpoint, Psionic will perform well once Insight is reworked because it is frustrating to deal with in current form.

I did a bunch of /ea Stalkers to check out different primaries, but I think I might reroll the Ice to Ice/stone. /ea has a bit more recharge and Ice wants recharge, but we are talking 15% compared to 20%.

Two attacks with annoying animations, BUT Atom Smasher and Irradiated Ground are really good to stupid good. Proc the hell out of IG. I might follow the path of my Brute and slot in a couple +KD procs for extra mitigation. Rad has the best AoE and isn't ugly like Spines. Not a super fan of click mezz protection, but I got a Rad/shield to 40+ although it is shelved currently. I assume I will get it to 50 at some point. I do enjoy it. I need to put something in it besides common IOs.

I think StJ will be solid outside of Stalker, but it is best there where Claws is far worse. A big draw for me with StJ is just how well it flows. I am working on a Shield/stj Tank to see how well I like it outside of being on a Stalker. I love both sets so even if I pick one over the other, the other is still really good.

That currently means for a level 22ish character where I am dumping uncommons and such I used to get to there. We are talking sets you can add at 7 and might have three of them in the whole set. I have used Croax's build before for my StJ/ea so this one will be highly like his except going for a bit more recharge in a spot versus the additional end recovery. I'll change more if I see it, but Croax's looked good at initial pass. I do need to go back and see what I might change on the StJ/ea build. I know more now versus when I default copied builds. Granted, I did tweak one build(Claws/wp brute) I saw in spots since there literally was no advantage to keep the slotting as is versus making some changes. Something like three slots total. The two slots from a set gave a bonus. If you switched the set to the same as the first slot, you got the same bonus as the previous set and a bonus for three slots.

There's really no reason not to upgrade the ATOs to Superior. You'll need at most 12 catalysts to convert each of them, and they are easy enough to drop once you hit 50.

News outlets would take care much of it, so Steam would be the primary way to do it. I do wonder if it would still be free with monthly donations or have a small fee as a buy-in. A fee might be good so it could be lowered for sales and get some added mentions during their sales.

To be fair, I didn't see where the OP shared their exact build, so any attempt at replicating it would simply be that. I've teamed with the OP. If they are merely trolling on the forums, they are going full-on The Prestige level of dedication.

I have yet to see a claim by the OP which can't be refuted through personal experience by myself or other players. I am absolutely convinced the OPs struggles are due to bad builds. FYI, I'm not sure why this wasn't pointed out before, but 2 slotting res in the shields is bad slotting. 1. Because the numbers for the Res is low. 2. The Res only covers Cold and Fire. You want three slots for Def. If you slot for Res, it is a one off IO, ie Gladiator's Armor: TP Protect/+3% Def. If you don't want to deal with IOs, then 3 Def and any Recharge/End you feel you need. See also Arctic Fog. If you can't solo a MM at +0/x1, then yes, the issue is you and not the sets.

While I know it was Rad/kat versus Shield/bs, I was looking to dump DA once I hit 22 on my build as I didn't feel like it was worth it, and I had assumed DA was going to be a cornerstone attack to help Rad out in terms of mitigation. Maybe it was due to me playing red side, but I was dealing with a decent amount of ranged attacks so using DA just felt not needed outside of filling in an early attack chain.
