  1. I need to raise a couple 100 millions inf for my alt's new shoes I have been playing around with AE on my EM/SD scrapper, mostly to see how far i can push it. I can do Comic Con S&L on x8+4 without dying and faster than on a brute as long as I pay attention. Someone said AE yields half the influence as regular play, so is there a similar mission with hordes of mobs that is easily reachable without special contact. For example I know the battle maiden open city map is popular for farmers. I can also survive the fire version of Comic Con so it doesn't have to be S&L as long as I get orange inspirations. I know there was a popular fire demons farm back in the day but not sure what arc it is in. I have not done the Unai Kemen (sp?) arcs, is that the arc it was part of? I'm OK getting a new arc and never completing the mission so I can repeat it in the future but I have completed Tina and Maria and I don't want to get locked into the "TF mode" of the flashback system to get access to those missions, I want my hero to remain available for regular play with the farm mission available for when I want to kill 20 minutes and make a little extra influence/drops Any suggestion? I probably can't solo a x8+4 AV, or at least not worth the investment in time
  2. I have never played RM and it seems to have some interesting mechanics. RM/Dark seems popular here but I was thinking RM/Elec for no reason I can identify I've never played /Dark on melee before, does it hide your costume? (I'm guessing you can set it to minimal effects anyway) Anyone playing RM/Elec? Is it any good? any sample build?
  3. I can get pretty darn close in the costume creator. I would go with a Luminous Eidolon rad corruptor but I have too many corruptors as it is. The zombie illusion dirt of falls apart after the T1 pets but that's alright. I have several /rad characters (altitis anyone?) and jusy deleted a /dark to I think I'll stick with /dark. We'll see. I'm not shy about rerolling character, even if they are in their 30s. Only a handful of them capture my attention enough to warrant fully funded (100s of millions) builds. We'll see if this turns out to be one of them. This will officially be my first villain although a couple of my corruptors have been flipping back and forth.
  4. Subscribing to this thread, some good thought in here and I've decided to try an MM again and I have this sudden fixation of making a Vahzilock (Eidolon) themed zombie MM.
  5. I'm thinking about making a Vahzilock themed MM. I had a few MMs back in the day (demons/? and robots/FF I think) and while not a huge fan in the AT they add variety to the game. I almost "have to" go zombies for my Eidolon MM. The Eidolonsin CoH are either dark blast, dark Miasma it radiation blast I believe. Zombie/Dark is likely the best thematic fit as well as an OK synergy of the primary and secondary. Any other combos that would fit the theme? Any advice on zombie/dark?
  6. I have so much recharge on my scrapper it's up often It's an AoE so it debuffs more than one thing I do see a difference in how things die so it's not useless I wanted fireball and wasn't excited by the rest So overall satisfied with the choice.
  7. Wow I wasn't aware of that either? Cool!
  8. I posted my build in a different thread I started but it was heavily inspired by RedLynne's especially because I haven't realized you could buy attuned enhancements at the time and examplaring is important for my main. I spend almost no combat time I human so I didn't take it for my Tri-Form but it was an important part of my Human build on Live so I agree it's a valid choice if your tri-form is going to spend significant time in human. The one power I like in human is the hold (Gravity Well I think) as a quick hard hitting power while in human to finish off a threat, neutralize a Q while you approach him stealthed, et... (I slotted mine with damage rather than hold duration). My other two human attacks are the ones that carry to dwarf or Nova and that you almost have to take. Someone pointed out that Ebon Eye does more damage than the small Nova attack so when I respec I will swap their slotting. I'm currently working on a 400mil corruptor and an 800.il corruptor alts (levels 41 and 7 currently) but when I'm done I will look at purples/Winter IOs for my warshade and decide if the difference is worth it. I love the franticness of a tri-form warshade and how powerful it is, but the fact that errors can get you to faceplant. It's CoH "hard mode" in the positive sense of the term.
  9. I didn't know you couldn't sell to yourself but that now exains why it didn't work the few times I tried.
  10. At 50 with XP turned off, running a +4 ITF without trying to speed through it (e.g. kill all ambushes in the second mission) is worth approx 30 millions. I see LFT request for "BM farms" that probably have even higher inf per hour. So 90 millions in 8 hours doesn't sound like a very good use of my precious play time slogging through buying, crafting and selling enhacements. Glad different people find their own way to make inf and enjoy the game.
  11. Yeah more than anything it sounds boring to play, but if you allow Sands, brawl and Nem Staff you're talking :) Take 2xXP form the P2Win vendor. It won't change the challenge, just make things go a little (twice) faster :) Report here in a while o how it's going for you!
  12. There is nothing wrong with Warshades They do less knockback that say, Storm, and because they can fly they can shoot from above and change that KB to KD. The nuke (Quasar) does KB, so does Energy Blast's Nova and others. My warshade does have a couple KB->KD IOs in some powers for good measure. Warshade can blast, Warshades can tank, Warshades can stealth and TP you to the end of the mission. Warshade can do crowd control pretty well. The only reason you may not want a warshade on your team is because they make you feel inadequate. They don't need to wait for you to herd, they can outdamage you... Yes Kheldians (PBs too) will cause Quantums to spawn. Most regular heroes should not care much about that. The Kheldian player just needs to learn with it. Don't run, go straight to them and smash them first. Interestingly I recently saw a article in the press a out the return of CoH that refered to the Warshade as "the most hated AT".
  13. I'm even having trouble not levelling too fast while soloing regular content. I cut my teeth on CoH in the old Hollows, when getting to the mission door could be a challenge in itself, but at least you can set your reputation to something challenging for your level even solo, and you can stop earning XP at any time. Going for "Master of" TFs (at +4!) or using challenging restriction settings in Ouro are other ways to make the game interesting.
  14. There is something fun to having an "OP" build (I run an elec melle / Shield defense build that qualifies even though I have no purples or winter IOs). You can still challenge yourself. I have the most fun with "bad" teams. In one ITF the rest of the tram faceplanted when the dawrfs/novas surged at the end if the first mission. I ended mopping those up while the rest of the tram waited or trecked to the hospital. It was challenging because there were so many they were actually getting through my defenses and I had to juggle powers and timing right. I often stay in the ITF and clear the roofs by myself if the rest of the team leaves after killing there AV. A roof full of stacking debuffs can be also challenging even for my build, and again it makes it fun. I only solo at x8+4 and while most mobs are still pretty easy (bosses can take a bit to wear down with my build), there are does that can pose a challenge. My best answer is till a tri-form warshade. So powerful yet pretty unforgiving. A mistake can turn the situation o your very quickly. The. You use your self rez, and fix the situation. It's the perfect combination of power and crazy play. y play. In a word it's CoH "hard mode". :)
  15. My understanding is that each ATO has 2 sets and one set is available from one type of packs and the other set from the other pack.
  16. Anyone playing Staff/Elec Armor and do you have any build advice? I picked the combo because I had never played either set and didn't want to go with Dark armor as I like my costume.
  17. Bittter Freeze Ray is such a slow animation! It's weird too because all other ice animation are so fast (a definite plus for the set). Ice storm is a great mitigation tool in addition to damage and synergizes well with tarpatch. blizzard is decent Size damage and also great on top of tarpatch. I'd say the damage may not be quite as good as fire/dark but survivability might be better. I already had a fire/dark and a fire/time so I rolled an ice/rad and live that too.
  18. My Fire/team corruptor is still a baby (I'm still working on my Ice/Rad with ATOs, Winter IOs and Purples) so I have been mostly playing with the builds in Pine's including working in Winter IOs instead of purples, but I must say I keep coming back to your build or something almost identical. You did a great job! I'm thinking about using this build while leveling up. Slot attuned enhacements as soon as the slot is available and slot the non-superior version of the ATOs. Obviously can't slot purples till 50, this is where maybe some winter IOs or Universal damage may be good placeholders, although regular sets are likely to suffice. I try not to rush to 60, it happens so fast anyway through regular play. In fact this build on paper is so much more powerful than my ice/rad that I considered dropping her (currently at 45). But then yesterday I joined a team and someone asked "are we still at +4?" because everything became so much easier after I joined, so I decided to keep her and the 1/2 billion she will cost me in the end. (Guessing your build is about the same price?)
  19. There is a costume option for no heads. Used it on one of my heroes, one of his costume has a large come (aura?) where the head should be.
  20. thanks for the csutom installer with bonus terrible styling :)
  21. Do you solo or play in teams primarily? I find that many of my builds get played quite differently beteen the two. My Warshade double Mires and nukes everything solo, but a good team will have blown everything to bits by the time I fire off my second mire buff with nothing left to kill for example. I do like the idea of keeping Aim. with enough recharge it's up often enough to make a difference.
  22. Did a lvl54 ITF yesterday with a somewhat weak team and that really helped me see the strengths (and limits) of this combo, at least with my build. I basically tanked all the time, and mostly soloed the Dwarf and Nova surge at the end of the first mission when the rest of the team wiped. I would not have been able to do it without the incarnates, but between Melee and Barrier I was able to survive and clear the spawn. A similar situation happened at the control computer when the team wiped and I survive continuing to chip at the computer (feels like going after a steel beam with a nail file though). We failed to complete though. The team didn't have enough DPS for Romulus+Nictuses and this is where my build fell short, eventually Barrier wears off, the AV gets through my defenses, and while I was doing fine with orange inspirations, I ran out them before the team had chipped off 25% of the AV. Everybody left the map so I decided to clear the roofs solo, which was fine if I started in a corner and did then one at a time with the occasional second group aggroing at the same time. I did faceplant went I jumped in the middle of the roof, ran in circles to aggro everything and states fighting. Eventually the continuous pressure overwhelmed my defense and Regen and I faceplanted after clearing only 2/3 of the roof in a continuous fight. My build has capped positional defense (I looked at the in-game stats during the final AV fight and it showed 60% positional defense although I was too busy to look at the brakdown between my build and external sources from the team) To survive those extreme situations I need more resist, and orange inspirations do help. I should start stocking the medium and large ones and going to the P2Win vendor to turn off purple drops. Incarnate born Regen helps a lot, but I need to see if I can get more resist through build changes (I have ATOs but not purples) and proper incarnate choices.
  23. Still playing around with incarnates, but happy with T4 Clarion, and Spiritual is working out for me.
  24. again, not that convenient when you are talking a few dozen IOs
  25. Yeah sorry, I edited the post to show that I had converters the merits to converters before realizing my mistake. You're right the original was confusing. I did want mean to ask about converters and they do store in the SG salvage per a previous post so it answers my question and my need. It also works for catalysts and I'm guessing boosters, which is great. I'm trying to have my Main be the consolidated holder of catalysts and boosters rather than guess which one of my many alts holds some.
