  1. no problem at all. Enhancements can be quite confusing at first. but you'll get the hang of it. There are a lot of helpful peeps both here, the discord, and in-game who would be happy to help you if you just ask.
  2. Haha. Thanks, Vile. haven't updated past the first two post as much as I'd like. too busy with alts 😃
  3. like I said, each to his own play style. Just because I do... or don't... doesn't mean everyone should or shouldn't.
  4. my pleasure. 😃 enjoy your toon. Incidentally, my toon has no end problems even when facing end-sapping foes. he does tend to bite off more than he can chew, but that's just me being greedy with the XP due to my limited map and mob choices. If you plan to go solo a lot, I suggest you not slot KB-KD as they give you some breathing room. but some teams can get quite anal with KB. I like KB (and sudden acc has awesome set bonuses). on my other one, I just swap a sudden acc IO with the KB-KD when I do decide to team, then swap it out when I'm done. and there, I gave your first rep point 😃
  5. builds are quite personal in the sense that they cater to YOUR style of play. so, while I won't really critique the build, I will offer a few morsels of advice: Ninja Mastery can take ATOs, so you can slot those there and free up primaries for much needed damage SR's defenses are quite strong even when minimally slotted. use this to your advantage. Enduring is good even with just the Perf shifter proc, that's 2 more slots for you to use elsewhere. I'm not a big fan of Hasten, and especially on SR. I think SR will recharge you fast enough once you get Quicken. I'd much rather take Leadership Assault and Tactics then 6-slot tactics with a full set of Gaussian. but that's just me. =)
  6. this has got to be my fav blapper. I have 2 of them, each with slightly diff slotting, but not enough to really matter. Unfortunately, I don't have mids, so it's fairly hard to share my build with you. And of course, it totally depends on your preferred play style. Mine's a blapper so most of my attacks come from /energy's melee, thereby relegating the primaries for debuff purposes. rad/'s debuff is strong enough on its own without building for it, but some powers weren't worth slotting for damage either. at least not with the limited slots that I had. This bloke is currently at 44, but can handle +4x8 solo if he needs to. I just keep it at +3x6-8 in the interest of time-to-xp ratio. he has to since he's a praetorian who wont leave gold side, so things can get fairly lonely as I can't join a lot of teams or go to most maps. Here's an attempt: rad/ x-ray beam: Decimation x4 irradiate: Achilles heel x2, Undermined def x3 proton volley: Executioner's Contract full set cosmic burst*: Razzle Dazzle x2 atomic blast: Obliteration full set /energy power thrust (mandatory, but still useful): Sudden Acc full set or x5 energy punch: Touch of Death full set bone smasher: Mako's Bite full set energise: Numina's Convalescence full set total focus: Mako's Bite full set power boost: recharge tertiary (not in the order that I took them) Leaping-Combat Jumping: Reactive Def x2 (def + global scaling) Sorcery: - Flight: Blessing of the Zephyr x2 - Spirit Ward: preventive med x2 (absorb proc still automatically even when the power is not used) - Rune of Protection: recharge Fighting: - box (none) - kick (none) - tough: Aegis x 6 (levelling up before I took Munitions Epic, this was slotted with Steadfast x2, Unbreakable Guard x2) - weave: Red fortune x2 - Crosspunch*: Leadership: - Assault: End redux - Tactics: Gaussian full set Munitions Mastery - Body Armour: Steadfast x2, Unbreakable Guard x2 I'm a big fan of set bonuses, and being a blapper, I try to get as many bonuses as I can to make up for my lack of res/def. You'll notice that crosspunch and cosmic burst have * on them. I haven't decided which one to build up, either cosmic burst gets maybe Thunderstrike or Devastation x2 or x4 and Crosspunch gets Razzle Dazzle x 2. or priority goes to Crosspunch.
  7. Yes, sometimes they end up occupying the same slot in the character list. You can try moving each one (if you don't have a lot of toons) until you "uncover" the toon in question. Or if you follow Marine X's instructions, your character list will be reset in the order your toons were created, and you should find your MIA toon.
  8. This is what my Vanquisher is doing now. Staying loyal. I've ignored Marchand's offer to go to primal and have continued grinding in the two Wards. Now Level 43 and still gold 😃 I don't mind if the promise of seeing Goldside into full fruition doesn't happen overnight. In fact I prefer that the devs take their time with it. It is already standing on some very solid foundations. the continuation of content that lets us get to incarnates without going primal should be worth the wait. Long Live Emperor Cole ... Bobcat is hot (and Neuron's a douche)
  9. I'm quite sure they're limited. not all the hair styles are available for Widows, for example
  10. the rest of the slots for widows and soldiers, while they do have more choices, are still limited compared to other ATs. I agree with you on the costume. Things aren't worth doing if you don't look good while doing it. 😃
  11. Ooh. I like where this is going. I was fairly disappointed that I can't start spiders over on gold-side. It would require a bit of mulling over in my thinking chair for me. Of course we should have a REAT (Resistance) and LEAT (Loyalist) variants as we do Heroes and Villains. And they should be an entirely new AT in the sense that HEATs and VEATs are different from the other ATs (or more like a conglomerate of them). (thinking out loud to jumpstart the noggin...) Either one could be a product of BAF, Lambda or Mother Mayhem's. Resistance were escapees or rescued from said institutions, and Loyalist would be integrated into the Powers division as candidates for the Praetorian Guard. The Devouring Earth and Hamidon are great springboards for concepts. Then there are also the denizens of First and Night Ward that are equally interesting are still part of Praetoria. Speaking of concepts, my current toon at the moment is a Vanquisher. a special (rip-off of Star Wars Clone Troopers) force created to protect Preatoria from the Devouring Earth. Once the Hamidon Wars ended, they were absorbed into the Powers Division. They're just "enhanced" humans in the same vein as SoAs. Right now I settled on a blapper (though I also have a dom and a Fender lined up) that can attack at range and melee as they choose. It would be cool to have an AT that can use not only range and melee, but elemental or psi attacks or control with weapons as well with a fair share of armour. (Now might be a good time to introduce arm or shoulder mounted Beam Rifles... just saying) So basically an SoA with the added elemental blasts and diff armour set (WP, SR???). Liberators would be the Resistance version could be similar like WS are to PBs: more stealth based powers, maybe a touch of Fenders/Trollers? Here's where I'm coming from (more thinking out loud). HEATs and VEATs don't really have unique powers, but they do have unique power sets. Basically... SoA = Ass Rifle + Nades (huntsman), Mace + Energy Blast (bane), Claws + Energy Blast (crab) or any combination of two + pets + Leadership + armour + stealth Widows = claws + psi or psi + mind + leadership + armour + stealth PB and WS (sorry, haven't played much of WSs) = energy blasters + energy melee + res or dark blast + dark melee + res both with a bit of control. Hence we can make LEATs = MM + Fender + Blapper + a bit of armour REATs = Sentinels/Blasters + dom/troller + stalker Both can have inherent Fighting Pool which when double dipped increases the damage of Box, Kick, and Cross Punch as well as stacks Tough and Weave. That's all I got for now 😃
  12. On teams, that is pretty much a common sentiment: what am I really contributing. While I don't want to go into that, you should try soloing doms, corrs, fenders and trollers. That's when their control abilities really matter. You hold an entire mob helpless, unable to attack, unable to run, while you sadistically kill them one by one.
  13. there are SFX mods for bots that make them tolerable, as well as a bunch of other powers. BR is another ear-grinding one. Do a search for @Solarverse. He's done some fantastic work with SFX. And, believe you me, some of his SFX mods make your powers stronger 😃
  14. Martial is a fun one. kick a creep (mutter "pull" to yourself) then shoot him while he's in the air. 😃 May I ask which shard is this KB SG in?
  15. First time I played FF on a Fender, I slotted KB-KD into Repulsion field... and it broke it. I agree with Hyperstike. KB and Repel while solo is very useful. On teams, I often switch a sudden acc IO (because the set bonuses aren't bad) with the KB-KD. Then I learned to use Repel (and Hurricane) to herd effectively by running around the perimeter like a sheep dog rounding the flock.
  16. A big fan of Energy/ on most range, as well as /Energy on Blasters and Doms as well as FF and Storm on Fenders and Corrs. I do have another toon that hinges on KB, Storm/Beam Rifle Fender. He's a bird guy, so the gust of his wings makes thematic sense. quite fun to play solo (I couldn't care less about teammates' request to slot KB-KD... they shouldn't have invited a bird guy with massive wings). Another place you can get KB is the Fighting Pool. Kick and Cross Punch as well as Spring Attack from Leaping also deals KB (now that I think about it Savage Melee has some as well).
  17. /energy manipulation is one of my faves when it comes to blappers. 😃
  18. Awesome ideas! and well written. Or what if Kaiju-Caleb looked like a dozen Calebs mish-mashed into one, with 12 heads, 24 arms, 10 times the attacks? 😃 Kronos Titan is now an attack fortress that spawns hoverbots and turrets that fly around in multitudes (like the carrier in star craft), while jet-packed sappers constantly flow from his chest while Zeus and Herc class mechs scurry from his boots. Eochai is as tall as a Redwood or Sequoia with entangling roots and spore clouds... and Venus Fly Traps. I like the idea that GMs will have to be league-class threats and not be easily taken down by a 4-man team. ...and they cause damage to the city. maybe not animation-wise, but the longer you take him down, the more inf will be deducted from you after you defeat him (if you defeat them at all). 😃 Just leave Sally alone.
  19. I think you have to get past the awesomeness of epic ATs (cough... spiders...) and just focus on the fun aspect of various animations. Yes, the VEATs are hard to top with a butt-load of really good powers and a tonne of armour to boot. But, widows are just claws stalkers, forts are just mind/psi, SoA are mace or Ass Rifle, and crabs are... MMs(?). Meanwhile PBs and WSs are pretty much energy, rad, dark. That leaves a whole lot of other powers with distinct animations (ice, fire, elec, DP, Beam, etc..). In the grand scheme of things, you will only end up with so many power choices by the time you're 50. so even if EATs have a large variety to choose from, you will still pretty much be at par with the other ATs. I suppose the thing you'd be missing is the choice of powers so you can create a toon that plays your way. I'm in the same boat. I love my Spiders to death, and beyond them, I can't imagine playing another AT. My SoAs are pure bane (mace), huntsman (AR+nades), and a tankermind Crab; then I have a pure night widow (claws) and a hybrid widow fort (claws+psi). But here I am with a bajillion alts that are not spiders. What I've found is that I like mixing melee and range with a touch of control (holds/immob). And some ATs can still give me that, especially with a wide range of Epic Pools to choose from. I'm now partial to Blasters and Doms which fit the bill. They're not as tough as VEATs in the armour department, but they hit harder or provide more control. Then there are the Corrs and Fenders. These two offer powers that benefit the team which runs circles around the VEAT's double leadership buffs. Incidentally, I love the fire blast animation, Rad eye beams, earth grumbling shakes, Total Focus' look-at-my-pompoms-look-at-my-pompoms-look-at-mBAM!!!, and DP/AR/Beam shots.
  20. I think it's still kosher. I've experienced many uniformed conversations where the superior was a female and subordinates addressed her as "sir".
  21. Hey Ghost, I'm just slightly ahead of you... But not by much. I tried my first PB some time ago, and what was mentioned above seems fairly accurate. They're pretty much like Sentinels with a few extra talents. The tri form is a bit daunting, but from what I hear, your PB won't reach its full potential without it. Mine was only human form. I am learning tri form now with a L20 WS. And it's not that complicated. The trick is to have keybinds and macros that bring up a specific tray of powers for each particular form. Once you get used to the switching aspect (timing when to use which form) each form becomes simpler as they only have about 3 or 4 attacks. There are a few very helpful guides to walk you through it. (Can't link them right now since I'm on my phone). Enjoy your Kheld. 😊
  22. Mez has been known to detoggle certain powers. Usually tertiary pool powers are unaffected, but orimaries, secondaries and epics are. And not just fire. I've seennit with dark, nature, bubbles and rad. I haven't noticed it with ice.
  23. Ya, I saw these the other day for the first time. Looks awesome, donut? I do hope we get access to it some time in the future. Same with Odysseus' Fists of Vulcan. 😃
  24. True. I just rationalise it in my head (concept-wise) that the crab armour and backpack is so dang heavy that it prevents him from jumping about like a nimble little bugger. On my WS (which I'm still learning how to tri-form properly), I took someone's advice to get Hover so you don't end up TP-ing in mid air or misclicking into human/dwarf form, only to fall and break a tentacle. 😃
  25. I usually take CJ on almost all of my toons not due to the defence it gives, but because of the end it doesn't suck out of you... that and your agility when jumping around during a fight is increased noticeably. Control of how your toon moves is often overlooked and unaccounted for in most stats, but it is equally important. I couldn't take CJ on my Crabbermind, and while I've learned to adjust, it is still a regret of mine. And I just purchase Jet Packs from P2W lady for travel. I do take Hover+Flight or Sorcery Flight on certain toons that allow for their character to fly (I'm kinda strict like that with concept) and the same goes for Hover: it's good to be able to control your toon instead of banking/coasting around or just staying just out of reach while your aura chews at the mobs. Hover costs a little more end (19/s IIRC, the description lies) so you might want to address that with a slot or two.
