  1. I for one think this dev team and group of unpaid volunteers simply ROCK! I have no complaints with the game whatsoever. Do I wish some things be different? Maybe, possibly, but far too trivial compared to how wholeheartedly thankful I can even play the game.
  2. @Solarverse I was just thinking about a "magic" staff. What if the staff SFX was the voice of Futurama's Bender dishing out quips with every power. Kinda like how Warcraft characters say a different snarky think every time you click on them (the more you click the more snarky)... sorry. I just got up and my brain is still doing the thaw. 😃
  3. @khy Yes! I would even settle for a Hercules Class. But please, more mechs: Vanguard Heavy, 5th Column Zenith Warcry, or a smaller not-kaiju-class Council Warwalker.
  4. Ha! I know just the guy. This guy is awesome with sound mods... oh Hi @Solarverse, we were just talking about you... 😃 Kidding aside, I too wouldn't mind an energy-esque staff. Not so much Darth Maul, actually even just a better version of the Tech Staff that looks like it has a lit blade similar to the Event Horizon or Vanguard Blade.
  5. Do you mean until you have to take the portal to Primal at level 20-25? (meaning all content, including maybe disabling XP to prevent out-levelling some contacts), then proceeding to First and Night Ward until 40s? Or do you mean staying gold until 50? Staying until 50 is possible, but requires a bit of creativity when taking missions. There are quite a few people who have earned their T4's without going primal. One of the most notable is @Darmian (Kameron Daniels) who did it on a Fender. I recently earned the Praetor Badge with a rad/energy blapper, so earning incarnates will be the next challenge. I also have a few more lined up, one from each AT. My Beam/FF Corruptor is doing well. Unfortunately, I can't start Arachnos over on Goldside. I think ANY AT or power set can be built to solo ANY content, of course some would be a lot easier than others. It all depends on your play style, and how fast/slow you want to go through it, and inevitably on your notoriety settings. That said, I personally feel that some powers fit better thematically to gold like mind, psi powers and beam rifle stuff. Just my opinion, though. I will say that gold side tends to get VERY lonely, and this is from a guy who solos a lot already. In fact, I had to buy a vanity pet from T4W (gold P2W) just to keep sane... kinda like Hanks and Wilson in Castaway. If you do plan on playing gold side and on Reunion, there's an Gold SG (The Praetorians) that you can join. We often run a few missions together in a team of 4-8, so it's things are looking up. Look me up (global @Six-Six) in game 😃 Good luck and enjoy.
  6. Is there a macro or slash command to turn incarnates off without unslotting them? If not, I might find the creation of one attractive.
  7. until

I think Dec 5 one will be in conjunction with this: Baron Havok is looking for the meanest, nastiest and downright terrifying to join him in a raid on Terra Volta and he's got cash to pay! Goodday and welcome all. This is an announcement for a Villain themed community CC that will be hosted on the HC:Reunion server on the 5th of December at 22:30 CEST (21:30 CET, 20:30 UTC). The location is Stateman plaza in Khallisti Wharf Prizes are: 1 billion INF - 1st place 500 million INF - 2nd place 250 million INF - 3rd place 50 million INF - 5x runner-ups NB! The contest is divided into two parts. Part 1: Visual Part one is about your looks and appearance, there will be 4 categories and 2 winners will be chosen from each category. The catagories are: 1. [Science & Technology] - your mad scientists, rampaging cyborgs, evil robots, gadget heavy bounty hunters etc 2. [Mutants & Monsters] - your beasts, abominations, icemen, biohazards, aliens etc 3. [Magic & Mystical] - dark gods, mad sorcerers, predator druids, demons etc 4. [Natural & Self-made] - mobsters, swordsmen, ninjas, thugs, corperate etc The reason for the catagories is simple - fairness. A dark god is far more flashy than a mobster but both are equally valid as a villain. If you not sure what category your villain fits in then just go with your gut feeling. The catagories also make it easier for the judges to evaluate similar costumes. Part 2: Biographies. 2 winners will be taken from each category for a total of 8 finalists. The judges will then assess the biography of each finalist. NB: having no biography will automatically disqualify you from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Above all have fun and let your wildside out for a bit 🙂 Ps: extra Judges will be needed. If you are interested in being a judge email me in game @Rivvic. Judges will have to be post-apocalyptic themed Edited 9 hours ago by TrueBornTyrant Times changed so as not to conflict with Hami raid
  8. in that case, Ass Rifle will bore you more. DP is quite fun in terms of play style and its cheeky animations. one AoE (Empty Clips) has a shorter range than the STs and the "nuke" is a PBAoE, so you have a lot of jumping in and out of useful range. It works well with Devices' caltrops. DP doesn't have snipe attack, so you can compensate for it with Targeting Drone's +dmg.
  9. Go with Dual Pistols (or Beam Rifle). Ass Rifle sucks in its current state.
  10. Here's my two inf: What you like I like the concept behind it; however, I don't think it's where it wants to be atm. The crafting is a nice grinding incentive. I like the judgement effects, though some more than others. What don't you like I personally don't like the incarnate system all that much. I think they make the toon so OP that most of the current content becomes too easy even at max difficulty and notoriety especially on a team of 8 fully T4'ed toons. Now if we were to have content that scaled with the power creep, then I suppose I wouldn't mind some godly powers. On some of my toons, I don't even bother with the incarnates. Others have them slotted, but the clickies are rarely used. Balance of the sets I haven't tried all of them yet. but from those that I've tried: - Musculature, Cardiac, and Vigor are great. Trying Nerve now. Resilient seems useless. - Judgement: Vorpal animation could use some love. Cryonic seems weak... (or maybe it's just how I use it). I would say Ion seems to have an unfair advantage over the others. - Destiny, I've only tried Barrier, Ageless, and not the T4 of Rebirth and Clarion. I was a bit disappointed by Clarion. the rest are great. - All 4 (core and radial) Hybrids are awesome - Lore. Wow. so many choices. 😃 But still, can I petition the Warcry and Malta mechs please. * I do have a suggestion for the Lore pets that might not be as popular. I propose the pets available to you should be linked to what Gladiator Badges you have earned. It will be kinda like having to unlock your lore pet choice. That and the option for skins and/or at least colour change for pets. The crafting system My only comment on the crafting system is either to get rid of the shards or make all others be craftable with shards. If it's the latter, please make Notice of the Well easier to attain by offering more opportunities for its drops. Also, I would appreciate a way to break down a crafted incarnate much like breaking down an incarnate component. Where you'd like to see them go I'd like to see more fitting content for such powerful pieces. I suppose the iTrials used to be that. but they are hardly a challenge when you have 16 - 24 overpowered teammates. Also, more thematic powers for Judgement would be great. We have Dark, Elec, Fire, Ice, and 2 melees (Mighty and Vorpal). Someone suggested a blade one, a gatling gun (or a howitzer artillery barrage--for pistols and ass rifle) and an orbital strike which I think are awesome. Some suggestions: Tsunami for Water or Wind/Storm/hurricane Berserker Rage for Claws or Savage (similar to Vorpal) Meteor Strike or Landslide for Stone or Nature or Gravity Shockwave (I imagine something like a radial or conic Shockwave) for Sonic Murder of Crows ( or a flurry??? --whatever a flock-- of bats is called), zombie horde, Mot Maw from the ground or for a demonic theme Toxic Spray for SoAs/Widows or Poison or Radiation Quill burst (cone or radius) for Arrows or Plant/thorns or Martial Assault (Shuriken) Sorry, that may have been more than 2 inf.
  11. I've been playing Blasters, Doms, and Corrs a lot with a healthy mix of range and melee. On most of them, I don't take Rune of protection. On some, I don't even build for defense and res, just cj, tough and weave with just scaling IO and plain end redux on the fighting pool. Surprisingly, I don't get mezzed that much. When I do, it doesn't last long and I still attack with t1, t2 primary and t1 secondary. I do make it a point to build for range def set bonuses because that's how mez gets to you. And I make sire to aleays have a purple skittle or two handy in the insp tray.
  12. I'm a late comer in the game and haven't even tried out half of all the available flavours to make a choice. I suppose I'm in the same camp as @CrudeVileTerror. While I have been developing certain favourites in terms of AT(s) and Power sets, each one begins to take a life of its own; hence making them very hard to compare akin to apples and oranges. I enjoy Archery/Ninjitsu Sentinels for different reasons as Rad/En Blappers or tankermind crabs. I also love certain animations regardless of their meta strength of Fire, Beam Rifle, Dual Pistols; while at the same time, I like the usefulness of Radiation, Dark and Ice. But if you ask me what I (the person I am in RL) would be if I could choose only one, then I'm afraid I can't make up my mind at this point... I'm not sure I'd want to be limited to just one when I can be so many. Or the powers/ combination of that I picture myself having are currently not offered by the game.
  13. If we're talking controlling enemies while you pummel them, then Ice is a good option. Energy on the other hand offers stuns and disorient, which is also a good form of control; similarly, Spines has slows, which gives you precious seconds that could mean life or death. But I believe Dark would be a better candidate because of the -to hit. Not getting hit translates better to defense in my mind.
  14. no problem at all. Enhancements can be quite confusing at first. but you'll get the hang of it. There are a lot of helpful peeps both here, the discord, and in-game who would be happy to help you if you just ask.
  15. Haha. Thanks, Vile. haven't updated past the first two post as much as I'd like. too busy with alts 😃
  16. like I said, each to his own play style. Just because I do... or don't... doesn't mean everyone should or shouldn't.
  17. my pleasure. 😃 enjoy your toon. Incidentally, my toon has no end problems even when facing end-sapping foes. he does tend to bite off more than he can chew, but that's just me being greedy with the XP due to my limited map and mob choices. If you plan to go solo a lot, I suggest you not slot KB-KD as they give you some breathing room. but some teams can get quite anal with KB. I like KB (and sudden acc has awesome set bonuses). on my other one, I just swap a sudden acc IO with the KB-KD when I do decide to team, then swap it out when I'm done. and there, I gave your first rep point 😃
  18. builds are quite personal in the sense that they cater to YOUR style of play. so, while I won't really critique the build, I will offer a few morsels of advice: Ninja Mastery can take ATOs, so you can slot those there and free up primaries for much needed damage SR's defenses are quite strong even when minimally slotted. use this to your advantage. Enduring is good even with just the Perf shifter proc, that's 2 more slots for you to use elsewhere. I'm not a big fan of Hasten, and especially on SR. I think SR will recharge you fast enough once you get Quicken. I'd much rather take Leadership Assault and Tactics then 6-slot tactics with a full set of Gaussian. but that's just me. =)
  19. this has got to be my fav blapper. I have 2 of them, each with slightly diff slotting, but not enough to really matter. Unfortunately, I don't have mids, so it's fairly hard to share my build with you. And of course, it totally depends on your preferred play style. Mine's a blapper so most of my attacks come from /energy's melee, thereby relegating the primaries for debuff purposes. rad/'s debuff is strong enough on its own without building for it, but some powers weren't worth slotting for damage either. at least not with the limited slots that I had. This bloke is currently at 44, but can handle +4x8 solo if he needs to. I just keep it at +3x6-8 in the interest of time-to-xp ratio. he has to since he's a praetorian who wont leave gold side, so things can get fairly lonely as I can't join a lot of teams or go to most maps. Here's an attempt: rad/ x-ray beam: Decimation x4 irradiate: Achilles heel x2, Undermined def x3 proton volley: Executioner's Contract full set cosmic burst*: Razzle Dazzle x2 atomic blast: Obliteration full set /energy power thrust (mandatory, but still useful): Sudden Acc full set or x5 energy punch: Touch of Death full set bone smasher: Mako's Bite full set energise: Numina's Convalescence full set total focus: Mako's Bite full set power boost: recharge tertiary (not in the order that I took them) Leaping-Combat Jumping: Reactive Def x2 (def + global scaling) Sorcery: - Flight: Blessing of the Zephyr x2 - Spirit Ward: preventive med x2 (absorb proc still automatically even when the power is not used) - Rune of Protection: recharge Fighting: - box (none) - kick (none) - tough: Aegis x 6 (levelling up before I took Munitions Epic, this was slotted with Steadfast x2, Unbreakable Guard x2) - weave: Red fortune x2 - Crosspunch*: Leadership: - Assault: End redux - Tactics: Gaussian full set Munitions Mastery - Body Armour: Steadfast x2, Unbreakable Guard x2 I'm a big fan of set bonuses, and being a blapper, I try to get as many bonuses as I can to make up for my lack of res/def. You'll notice that crosspunch and cosmic burst have * on them. I haven't decided which one to build up, either cosmic burst gets maybe Thunderstrike or Devastation x2 or x4 and Crosspunch gets Razzle Dazzle x 2. or priority goes to Crosspunch.
  20. Yes, sometimes they end up occupying the same slot in the character list. You can try moving each one (if you don't have a lot of toons) until you "uncover" the toon in question. Or if you follow Marine X's instructions, your character list will be reset in the order your toons were created, and you should find your MIA toon.
  21. This is what my Vanquisher is doing now. Staying loyal. I've ignored Marchand's offer to go to primal and have continued grinding in the two Wards. Now Level 43 and still gold 😃 I don't mind if the promise of seeing Goldside into full fruition doesn't happen overnight. In fact I prefer that the devs take their time with it. It is already standing on some very solid foundations. the continuation of content that lets us get to incarnates without going primal should be worth the wait. Long Live Emperor Cole ... Bobcat is hot (and Neuron's a douche)
  22. I'm quite sure they're limited. not all the hair styles are available for Widows, for example
  23. the rest of the slots for widows and soldiers, while they do have more choices, are still limited compared to other ATs. I agree with you on the costume. Things aren't worth doing if you don't look good while doing it. 😃
  24. Ooh. I like where this is going. I was fairly disappointed that I can't start spiders over on gold-side. It would require a bit of mulling over in my thinking chair for me. Of course we should have a REAT (Resistance) and LEAT (Loyalist) variants as we do Heroes and Villains. And they should be an entirely new AT in the sense that HEATs and VEATs are different from the other ATs (or more like a conglomerate of them). (thinking out loud to jumpstart the noggin...) Either one could be a product of BAF, Lambda or Mother Mayhem's. Resistance were escapees or rescued from said institutions, and Loyalist would be integrated into the Powers division as candidates for the Praetorian Guard. The Devouring Earth and Hamidon are great springboards for concepts. Then there are also the denizens of First and Night Ward that are equally interesting are still part of Praetoria. Speaking of concepts, my current toon at the moment is a Vanquisher. a special (rip-off of Star Wars Clone Troopers) force created to protect Preatoria from the Devouring Earth. Once the Hamidon Wars ended, they were absorbed into the Powers Division. They're just "enhanced" humans in the same vein as SoAs. Right now I settled on a blapper (though I also have a dom and a Fender lined up) that can attack at range and melee as they choose. It would be cool to have an AT that can use not only range and melee, but elemental or psi attacks or control with weapons as well with a fair share of armour. (Now might be a good time to introduce arm or shoulder mounted Beam Rifles... just saying) So basically an SoA with the added elemental blasts and diff armour set (WP, SR???). Liberators would be the Resistance version could be similar like WS are to PBs: more stealth based powers, maybe a touch of Fenders/Trollers? Here's where I'm coming from (more thinking out loud). HEATs and VEATs don't really have unique powers, but they do have unique power sets. Basically... SoA = Ass Rifle + Nades (huntsman), Mace + Energy Blast (bane), Claws + Energy Blast (crab) or any combination of two + pets + Leadership + armour + stealth Widows = claws + psi or psi + mind + leadership + armour + stealth PB and WS (sorry, haven't played much of WSs) = energy blasters + energy melee + res or dark blast + dark melee + res both with a bit of control. Hence we can make LEATs = MM + Fender + Blapper + a bit of armour REATs = Sentinels/Blasters + dom/troller + stalker Both can have inherent Fighting Pool which when double dipped increases the damage of Box, Kick, and Cross Punch as well as stacks Tough and Weave. That's all I got for now 😃
  25. On teams, that is pretty much a common sentiment: what am I really contributing. While I don't want to go into that, you should try soloing doms, corrs, fenders and trollers. That's when their control abilities really matter. You hold an entire mob helpless, unable to attack, unable to run, while you sadistically kill them one by one.
