  1. Ah, now I understand why the Tenth Doctor could snap his fingers and the Tardis opened.
  2. What happens at those levels, Troo? Does it just show advancement? or is there some reward? I'd have thought ever last corner of the Incarnate build window might be filled out by then.
  3. Might this fare better in the Suggestions forum? I do hear ya. It would be interesting to have a look that said "ghost" or "phased person". While that may be some time in coming, I'd note that some have achieved a similar effect using some of the various "fog" powers that offer a stealth or invisibility element to them.
  4. I agree with you, however, I would note that there's actually lore to support the idea that your character is constantly growing in power for millenia: the first Incarnate mission where you get to play that finally version of your character, undamageable and unstoppable by a host of the mightiest opponents. So I think the real answer...and as always this is pie-in-the-sky wishing at this point...is to have both. Allow progress, but slower, as keeping with the lore's idea of a very long time, and have a greater body of material in which Incarnates feel challenged.
  5. There's a few dual pistols where the colors matter. For example the retro-future space pistols with energy rings around them. Those color quite nicely.
  6. One thing he didn't cover was how popular the release of the catchy "...All Along" song was (deliberately vague title reference in case anyone hasn't seen it yet). He mentions the release, but not that it hit the top of the charts. Crazy.
  7. I was discussing some of that with a coworker today. Marvel, in both comics and animated works tends to go overboard, or without restraint, when they hit "phenomenal cosmic power" levels. To me, it feels like they don't understand the storytelling power of limitations and restraints. It's one of the reasons I enjoy Fantastic Four stories less than others: the FF stories tend to hit the cosmic power level far more than stories in the Marvel house. WandaVision came close, though I don't think it quite tipped the scale.
  8. Screen Rant's Pitch Meeting burned the midnight oil to turn out their Pitch Meeting for WandaVision a short time after the series conclusion. Their mocking of our collective fan theories is a hoot.
  9. Wow, I'd seen the scene, but somehow missed that line. Guess I thought it a throw-away. It doesn't really answer my question, but at least it tells me other "people" within the MCU storyline are asking the same question, and that someone high above has an answer.
  10. Thanks, everyone (so far)! That's far more in one spot than I've found anywhere else. If any others wish to contribute, I'm all ears.
  11. Well, it's really "pie in the sky" kind of wishing, but I'd be wishing all ignored and under-utilized zones would receive the "Faultline" treatment, in hopes that they become desirable locations to level again, preferably for incarnate-level activity.
  12. The only thing I am aware of that I'd want from another emulation of CoH would be that Illusion Controller costume option to give each illusion pet it's own unique look. I am, however, also happy that Homecoming gave us the mirroring effect on illusions pets. If there's some reason for me to personally try out a different emulation, I've yet to hear of it.
  13. Now you have me intrigued. If you've not already, will you post the backstory in the designated backstories thread?
  14. That look is so stereotyped. As an American I can assure those elsewhere that we don't look like that. We've not used shoulder pads since the 1980s.
  15. True, but if you're thinking of anything within the MCU TV shows, Feige more or less cut the TV shows loose and had nothing further to do with them. So essentially he made several of them alternate universes by that decision (though not formally stated as such). There's also the (admittedly thin) possibility that the Darkhold appears as more than one copy in a single universe.
  16. Well true, but to be fair, not all the hype was spun by Disney/Marvel, so they can't be fully blamed. And in addition WandaVision gave us:
  17. I've spent some time searching the web for a compiled list of all knockback protection options, and have yet to find one. Perhaps my search-fu is on vacation, though given that people refer to it in different ways ("knockback protection", "KB protection", "KB prot", etc.) the search engine might not be able to keep up. Is there a master list somewhere, and if not, can y'all contribute to one here, please? I'd also like to which options are available before level 21. I'm currently only aware of Acrobatics at 14.
  18. Well, they ruined many of my ideas, but that's half the fun. A few observations in wrap-up:
  19. The best ideas are the ones that make me jealous that I didn't think of them first. That's a great name/look/concept. I'm jealous.
  20. That is so awesome! Congrats! and hats off to @Joyitude! Now my only question is: Is this your damage resistance prestige companion or your defense one? 😉
  21. You make a good point. I would merely add that as soon as players saw a functional sword/pistol dual wielder that howls would commence for it to be a playable option.
  22. Remember, please, to use the spoiler window (eye icon on toolbar) to hide any spoilers. Okay, so WOW! Episode 1 was incredibly impressive, and Episode 2 kept that ball rolling. Although there were a few stereotypes overplayed on the show, overall, I'm very impressed with what they've done. Great effects, good acting, strong script with one or two twists, and a unique take on the Superman mythos: this didn't feel like TV, and it certainly didn't feel like typical CW Arrowverse fare. Me likey. And that's saying something, as I'm not a huge Superman fan. I'll watch the works the character is in, but I tend to like heroes with one power pushed to the limits, rather than a smorgasbord of abilities that make the character OP and ironically seem dull. I've seen several reactions now, and I think what everyone is impressed about is how human the show feels. It's just not a pure slugfest (though the fights are there). Spoiler talk:
  23. Gollum used the ring as a bet in the riddle game. The comment I read says that he and Bilbo parted amicably. Wow. That's a very different personality. 2nd edition was definitely better.
  24. Well, yes, it did create a situation where movie creators could interpret the story in different ways, including making no reference to later writings. I accept that. But I usually accept that the author gets to decide the narrative, and if he/she creates a later description that is different, it should be respected as his/her decision. For example, Harper Lee's opus isn't Go Set A Watchman. It is To Kill A Mockingbird. "Watchman" was the forerunner of her final decisions. That said, I don't know if the appendices of The Hobbit were ever put into print before JRR's death, or at least on his instructions, and that too might be a deciding factor. I suspect they only saw the light of day because of the compiling and editorial work of Christopher Tolkien.
  25. bumping this to the top for the night crowd to see.
