Well we got a couple of people a level in the frantic 5 minute rush through the Yin we'd literally just started when the announcement came through 🙂

Characters where you took the WHOLE Primary and Secondary
Li_Sensei replied to Heraclea's topic in General Discussion
Street Justice/Energy Aura Stalker. I like having a variety of attack options, as the whole 'optimised attack chain' approach feels dull to me. My attack chain is "whatever is recharged and feels appropriate right now", so that meant all of StJ for options. And Energy Aura doesn't have any real duff powers, even if I only took the T9 and dropped a recharge in the default slot to free up slots for other powers; and because it didn't really need anything else. -
Incarnate Trials. That was, on live, the only way to get them, and running a couple of trials per evening, is a good way to get the Empyreans you need, as well as threads, salvage and incarnate XP.

Talk to the City Representative in Atlas City Hall after you hit level 30. (I'm not sure if you still need to be level 30 for it these days, but that's what it always used to be) It's the 'Learn to better control your powers.' mission.

On live, my /gignore list just used to have the inf sellers. You remember, names like lkjhdfg and the ever popular asdfg. Report them, ignore them, move on used to be the standard operating procedure. On HC, I don't recall adding anyone to the list, but I'll have to check next time I remember. It takes a certain critical mass of irritation for me to reach for /gignore though.

Discussion: Disabling XP No Longer Increases Influence
Li_Sensei replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Just to weigh in with an excessively pedantic note, marketeers actually *destroy* inf. All those 10% market fees add up when you're moving billions about. :edit: forgot to add, I don't marketeer, I find it tedious and not fun. I do occasionally farm, but I do little enough of it that I personally don't mind the change. 55M inf (plus profits from drops) for 25-30 minutes "work" was absurd. -
Weekly Discussion 45: Favorite and Least Favorite Story Lines
Li_Sensei replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
Not a full arc, but the one that's stuck with me a long time, is a 'mini arc' from Crimson. 'A Titan Called Joe'. Read the clues, read the briefings, read the in mission chat. I don't know exactly what it is about that arc that stuck with me, but it has. -
Yes, it's autohit in PvE, but I believe needs a hit check in PvP, which is why it can take accuracy enhancements. Not that many people give two thirds of a foetid dingo's kidneys for PvP...

Personally, I tend to use them as pocket ablative alpha absorbers. Summon them in the middle of a spawn, let them take the alpha, then I have less to worry about heading my way.
-
Yeah, it took me far too long to figure that out. If you've been running to get Veteran levels for Incarnate shinies, then makes sure you log out and back in after a minute (just to be safe) or so before you start running for inf. Once I realised the cause it made sense, before that it just looked like a random effect.

He's talking about a macro in his mouse software, not ingame.

issue 26 Patch Notes for January 23rd, 2020 - Issue 26, Page 4
Li_Sensei replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
That's what I recall, but the idea of an invuln tanker faceplanting from a terminal migraine caused by his own chance for psi damage proc always did make me smile. (edited because apparently I can't spell) -

Ah, OK, thank you for the clarification. -

I have a specific question regarding Ice Armour and enhancements. Specifically, how do Taunt enhancements slotted in Chilling Embrace and Icicles work now? The detailed info in game no longer provides a taunt duration. Are the enhancements ineffective as it's not using the 'global proc' mechanic? Do the enhancements improve the duration of the proctaunt? It's not clear to me from the patch notes to make a reasonable conclusion. -
It only gets more absurd as more powers get unlocked 🙂

I don't know if anyone will recall or not, but I used to be one of the idiots who ran a weekly themed team on Union. Cold Front, as a concept is simple. Ice/Cold/Storm powersets. That's it. So I'm thinking of doing it all over again. It'd be on Friday evenings, 7:30pm UK time. So long as one of your Primary or Secondary powersets matches the requirement of Ice/Cold/Storm, the rest can be whatever you want. Fire Blast/Icy Melee Blaster? Fine. Shield/Ice Tanker? No Problem. Electric/Regen Scrapper? <BZZT!> Sorry, no good. (But, but, but it's totally lightning themed! Nope, sorry.) To try and give some longevity to the concept, I'd suggest a bar on XP boosters. We'll be running mostly story content, and probably the arcs that most people can get easily, so everyone on the team (or as far as is possible) gets Reward Merits on the journey. TF's too, of course, as the teams meet level criteria. So, if anyone's interested, I'l be in Atlas Park on Reunion this coming Friday from about 7:20pm UK time on a reincarnation of my Illusion/Storm controller from last time. And you see my user name over there <--- ? That's my global handle too (edit: with a space, not an underscore). Li.

There are the Winter Pack IO's, but there are also the Winter's Gift Universal travel IO Recipes that you can buy from the Candy Keeper in the Chalet. Maybe some confusion about which Winter IO's were being talked about?
-
I've got a vague memory that it came in as sort of part of the 'Who WIll Die' Signature story arcs, played some part in it, but was then more or less abandoned as focus shifted to the Praetorian storyline. But I could be completely misremembering, as it's been a long time.

Homecoming Server Update (November 29th): Winter!
Li_Sensei replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
While this isn't really the place to discuss the subject, it's my personal opinion that redside would need a *TOTAL* overhaul of both aesthetics and story content to be more appealing to the people who mainly play City of *Heroes*. Such a task is IMO far beyond the capabilities of a relatively small volunteer team. -
While it's not ingame, the donation window is on the calendar on these forums, IIRC. Taking that info, you could just set up alarms/alerts on your phone calendar software.
-
Well, that's the second time since May I've managed to get into the window. 🙂

Bind for targeting and lighting Oil Slick?

Apprentice Charm, I think. (Magic Origin) -
Try /option_set noxp 1 and /option_set noxp 0

While not necessarily in even the same ballpark as Illusion/FF, my first controller to 50 back on live (and is going to be the same on HC) is a Fire/FF. She's currently at 43-44 and on a team is absurdly powerful. But that's mainly down to how utterly broken Bonfire is with a KB-KD IO in it. My most 'useless' build was my Bots/Traps MM. "But that's one of the best pairings!" you say. Not when you make it non-Fitness. From Issue 6 until Issue 19. And try to run Leadership Toggles. And Scorpion Shield. And actually take part in missions using webnades and Web Envelope constantly. Sooo many End Cost SO's... Even once Inherent Fitness rolled round and I HAD to have Stamina, blue was a limited resource. I mean it's not like I missed having recharge in Triage, Poison Gas Trap and Acid Mortar, because on a team, by the time you've placed the three of them down, the fight (and the rest of the team) is three spawns down the corridor and accelerating... <sigh>
