For buffs, Knives of Vengeance Radial is my favorite. The Boss also has a significant debuff that does a ton of damage. For farming, I and many others like the BP radial as the untouchable pet is the only one (that I know of) that does any damage at all. And that damage is great at drawing aggro. For AV/GMs you want significant -regen and/or -res on top of damage. Longbow Core does the -regen and decent damage and BP Core is very good -res and DPS. But I also like the robotic drones, especially for ranged and flying characters as they like to stay at range, do energy damage, and a bit of -regen. Since they tend to stay at range, they last surprisingly long, especially if you are buffing or healing them. I've tried the others for theme or just to try them out but I tend to go BP, KoV, and Drones more than any of the others.

All powers that can do damage. It might be further limited to those that can be slotted for damage, but I'm not sure.

It's +Special, like Clarion Radial and Power Boost, so it does also boost defense. It's not 27.68 extra added defense, but whatever defense you already have gets a 27.68% multiplier boost for a minute. https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pool.experimentation.adrenal_booster&at=blaster Hmmm . . . Now I want to make a build that juggles Power Boost, Clarion, and Adrenal Booster. See Mezmera's post below: I logged in a character with Adrenal Boost, monitored defense, and then clicked it . . . nothing. No change at all to defense. I wonder if the error is in the description in the game (+27.68%% strength to defense debuff) or on CoD (+27.68% Base Defense)

I agree with much of the praise given to sorcery and experimentation, so I won't repeat them except to say that Speed of Sound does not have the -threat that Super Speed has. That's what allows you to be essentially invisible to most critters with SS and a stealth proc. So don't be surprised if you pull some aggro while running by with SoS and some stealth. One other point not made on Rune of Protection is that it provides mez protection, either used proactively or retroactively, meaning that you can get mezzed then click it to "break free." I tried to like the changes to stealth pool. Infiltration in particular appealed to me -- basically ninja run with some stealth added on. But the fact that half of the defense suppresses in combat soured the deal for me. Other than Sorcery, my next favorite is the new and improved Teleport pool. Combat jumping is just a ton of fun to pop in an out of combat -- especially on a Blaster with Burst of Speed! Combat TP also briefly boosts Tohit so you can slot a Gaussian's proc in it for a chance to boosted damage just as you come face to face with the enemy. Fold Space is the new star of this pool. It teleports up to 16 critters from 100 feet or less away to you. I love it on Traps to drop things into my kill zone and on Tanks/Brutes to pull all the action to me and my AoEs. They also combined Teleport Foe and Recall Friend into Teleport Target, so that you can teleport one critter or friend to you.

Can you still turn on "SG Mode" even though prestige isn't a thing anymore? Maybe it got clicked on accidentally? EDIT: I went in and killed a critter in non-SG mode, then switched to SG mode and killed another critter. Both got XP, so my theory is shot.

AV/GM Killer - Can solo hard content and team?
Bionic_Flea replied to Arcadian-Prime's topic in Archetypes
I have to throw an Arachnos Crab with all the pets, soft-cap defense, and high recharge (aka A Crabstermind) as a contender for AVs, GMs, Solo, and team. Although it has limited debuffs compared to a defender, corrupter, or controller, it leverages a little -resistance with a TON of DPS to take out hard targets incredibly fast. And with all the double leadership buffs, it makes an excellent teammate as well. -
I think a "Weekly Story Arc" or otherwise designating different arcs for bonus rewards is a great incentive for people to try new and different content. I realize that coding it may be a pain. OH! What if we could have a highlight on a random Ouro Arc (like we have for the WSF in the LFG tab) and that arc gave some sort of bonus reward.

That's just crazy talk.

How do players handle the all the Inactive characters?
Bionic_Flea replied to Palehood's topic in General Discussion
It's fairly easy for me. I create a new character and play it until it's 50+3 . . . and then make a new one. I periodically go back and log into each one to either play them or just check on their market sales and move them to a new day job location. -
I'm at level 47 now and have found that I am safer alone than with groups, which seems counter intuitive. But when I'm solo, it's easier to keep track of who's asleep or otherwise held and concentrate on those that aren't. On teams nothing stays asleep for more than an instant, if that long, but the sleep attack still seems to draw plenty of aggro. It remains a fun character who is relatively weak in damage, but strong in control and debuff. But it still puts out enough damage that I have been soloing at +0/x8 from the high 30s and was at +0/x5 from the mid 20s. That's more than strong enough for me.

Thoughts About Processing and Selling Converted Sets
Bionic_Flea replied to Andreah's topic in The Market
I appreciate your compiling and openly sharing your data. But why do you only sell complete sets? Is there some advantage I'm not seeing? Obsessive-compulsive mandates? Selling to individuals off market? -

That's when I read the Crucible. Or maybe it was junior high. 1979ish.

My prior attempt at a build did go with Total Domination, Ice Mastery's Hibernate, Frozen Armor, and a well slotted Ice Storm. But I just didn't have enough slots. And part of the concept of this character is Sleep with Classic Sandman/Neil Gaiman Sandman/Marvel's Nightmare costumes. So I needed all the sleeps. I would have loved to have taken Total Domination and six slotted it, and thrown more slots into Flash Arrow, Glue Arrow, Mesmerize, Levitate, Entangling Arrow, and keep that deliciously slotted Ice Storm that would have done tons of damage. But I only have so many powers and slots. I had Total Dom on the prior build but I decided I preferred the slots to the power. Telekinesis is just there as a final one hit wonder pick. One of the benefits of Scorpion Shield, other than the defense, is that you can pick it without any prerequisites I might have to reconsider my mass hypnosis slotting. I had forgotten that recent change. Mids still allows the slotting of acc and obviously the sets include accuracy. But it might be worth using those slots elsewhere. I am now level 21 and it's been fun. I can Flash and Sleep large groups then pick a few off at a time with my other attacks and a confused helper. It's slow but fairly safe.

Thanks, Uber. If you ever need a buck or two to keep it running, let me know.
-
Thanks. That's good advice. Except I think I will keep the Confuse slotting as is, as I am leveling up doing TFs and arcs and it's nice having those set bonuses early. And I wouldn't be able to slot the purple set until 50. So your suggestion might be better for exemping but I think my set up is better for leveling. But I did play around with the slotting of Oil Slick and ended up with Bombardment Fire proc, Positron's Energy Proc, and Javelin Volley Lethal Proc with 58 Acc/ 91 Dam/ 58 End/ 37 Rech and that ends up doing average 726 damage every 70 seconds at a cost of 9.7 endurance (Using Mids Numbers). If I did the calculations right I should still be at 90% cap at activation. I could squeeze out more damage, more recharge, or better endurance, but I think I came out with a good balance for all three.

Arise, ARISE dead thread! OK, now with that out of the way, I wanted to thank @Redlynne for the posted build and musings on Mind/TA. I was thinking about making a character with a lot of sleep powers and settled on Mind/TA. I was wracking my brain on making a build in Mids and it just wasn't working out. But I was able to merge mine with Redlynne's and then tuned it a little and came up with something I think will work for me. Here's my take on it. I'll let you know how it goes after I've played it a bit.
