I'd rather have a P2W vendor in RWZ base, but I guess I have no problem with Null being there. Isn't he a pan-dimensional being anyway? However, I don't think Null should be a base critter, pan dimensional or not. I feel that somethings should only exist in the larger world. Just like I wouldn't like Ms. Liberty and all the other Trainers and TF contacts to be base critters.

Well, yes. Everything has an opportunity cost of at least reasonable market value if sold. But when I get catalysts as drops and boosters in packs that I pay 10 mill for but get more then 10 mil out, in my head they are free.

Personally, I make a build in Mids before I even make a costume. (See MidsReborn.com) Using that as my base, I will start slotting attuned IOs (set IOs that have a floating level within the range of the set) as soon as I can, considering level and finances. I have some stuff stored in my base and I give new characters some starting cash to start buying. By the time I get to level 50 the only thing I need to do is swap in any purple sets that I may want for whatever set I used to level and use enhancement catalysts on my ATOs and WinterOs to make them Superior. And then work on incarnates and accolades. If you have a particular character you want build recommendations for, I suggest that you post that request in the appropriate AT sub forums and state your parameters -- cheap, money is no object, final, leveling, softcap, perma this or that, whatever you want.

I made a Mercs/Sonic which worked surprisingly well. The pets are much better behaved than they used to be and stayed inside the bubble most of the time. Sure, it's not as strong as a lot of other MM combos, let alone other ATs. But it performed well enough that I leveled him to 50 without much PLing and earned +3 incarnates.

I think Brute hits the sweet spot for those requirements. I'd recommend Mace/Shield or Rad as sturdy yet easy and both add extra damage. Mace can be customized to all sorts of looks and may not be as flashy as some of the new sets, but it also doesn't have gimmicks like combos or stack builders. Just bang people upside the head.

It takes effort and time, but you can find people that like to play like you do. My suggestion would be to put story arc teams together in Striga and Croatoa. If you can get folks to all start an arc at the beginning, everyone can get the story arc completion bonuses. Even if you don't, you get to unlock two great TFs (Hess in Striga and Katie Hannon in Croatoa) and work towards badges and accolades. At level 35 you can do the same in Rikti War Zone. Good luck!

OK. Here we go for a first draft -- jump kick, spring jump, dark pit, time bomb, and world of confusion. I took them, but barely slotted them. It's hard to take so many "bad" powers and still slot up to be sturdy and damaging. Is that cheating?

What are the worst powers in the game? You know, the ones almost everyone skips, like repel, jump kick, etc. Stuff like that. I'd like to theorycraft a character with as many of the worst powers as possible and try to make it work. Hit me!

Of the dozen or so MMs I've gotten to 50 here and live, my two favorite are Bot/Traps and Thugs/Kin. Bot/Traps is an excellent combo for fighting AVs and giant monsters. Huge -regen debuff in poison trap added to the -regen in Bot's attacks; an AoE hold, web grenade and caltrops to keep things in burn patches; easy to softcap your bots and yourself; VERY proc-able. This was my all time favorite. Thugs/Kin I liked for one specific combo - Gang War, Fulcrum Shift, Burnout, Gang War, Fulcrum Shift. The ensuing chaos never got old.

It's not just incarnate powers and IOs that are adding to speed. Once you've run the content once or twice to read the story, do you really want to re-read it the tenth time? The hundredth? And when you've spent seventeen+ years playing this game, which many of us have, you tend to learn the maps, where the blinkies and hostages are likely to be, etc. We also have access to the wonderful P2W items like Team Transport, Mission Teleport, Assemble the Team, Base TP, Base portal, and the new Long Range Teleport. Even something like Revel can substantially reduce time to completion. I'd be interested to see the data on the Aeon Strike Force. I'm guessing that the first week had really high completion times and people quitting the TF and that those numbers fall each week since then. But the ASF brings up an interesting possibility. Many of the rewards of the TF are not just the end reward merits and D-sync, but there are bonus rewards for running at higher difficulty and completing side tasks that could be skipped. If they added something like that in older content, like saving the hostages in Lady Grey instead of getting them killed, then you would have more people completing skippable portions just for the extra rewards. And that, in turn, should result in longer median completion times and therefore higher merit rewards.

I have no problem with merit rewards being adjusted up if the introduction of new stuff makes the content take longer on average. But don't be surprised if other content has reward merits reduced because the average time to complete has gone down considerably. This is the way.

I would just make a third account to PL alts. So would a bunch of other people. I don't even farm or PL that much, but when I want to skip a few levels, I skip a few levels. I'm not sure what problem you are trying to solve, but I am fairly certain this would not solve it.

I was able to solo it on lowest settings on a tank with the help of some pets and temp powers. I know Linea has soloed it as well and was working his way up the different difficulty levels until he hit a hard wall. So it's doable and you can take your time. I found it was a great way to farm some of the new defeat badges by resetting and repeating the ripples.
