crafting Craft & Convert: Detailed Step-by-Step Guide
Bionic_Flea replied to Shinobu's topic in Guides
Pancakes must make bunny brains smarter. I agree with Ura Hero. I try not to do too many "within set" conversions, unless the set has only 3 pieces, like Blessing of the Zephyr, because then you have a 50-50 chance of getting the -KB piece in BoTZ because you have to convert to one of the other two pieces and not stay the same. I'll also do similarly when I get the worst piece in a good set, like the end/rech in Luck of the Gambler -- it would be great to have the +7.5 recharge but any of the other pieces would be fine too. Other than those types of situations, when I do convert within set, I try to limit it to 5 or 6 attempts at most. Flipping between categories is generally limited to once from uncommon to rare as I will usually only do the conversion when that is the known outcome. Flipping within rarity can go on a bit, but after about 5 or 6 flips I try to accept something that is "good enough". -
Damn sad news. He spent the last month posting songs in the Jukebox thread: May he rest in peace.

What to do in case of abuse via the reaction system?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but so what? Does it affect you in anyway to have a thumbs-down or a hundred thumbs-down? From what I just tested, a thumbs-down does not reduce your forum rep, while a thumbs-up does increase your forums rep. -
Problem entering AE and living to tell the tale

Yes, there are caps to every player stat. Some are universal, some vary by AT. Here's a list from the Wiki: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Limits -
What makes for a healthy game community?
Bionic_Flea replied to Glacier Peak's topic in General Discussion
Growth. Players need to feel their characters are growing and the game itself has to grow to keep it from getting stale. -
Why have you abandoned us @Jimmy? Did we do something wrong? (and by "we" I mainly mean Luminara) Are you OK? It's been over six months!

I don't respec unless I have a Mids build ready and waiting on a separate window. Even with that, I mess up respecs. I've had to back track several times. And on a few occasions, I had to respec my respec. FML

I am all in on a shuriken blast set and then give it weapon proliferation: darts, knifes, frisbees, whatever!

You can't buy or sell from yourself. And the highest bid buys the lowest price offered. But you knew these things, I assume.

I disavow any credit for this insanity! Have I ever told you about my tank slotted almost exclusively with Taunt sets?

There is a difference between "can" and "should." I really like the new difficulty settings in Aeon, and the Aeon TF in general. The ability to add difficulty, power, and complexity to critters and content is amazing and I look forward to seeing what can be done in the future with that tech. But what many in this thread are saying is that the team should not have changed the requirement for the existing "Master of" badges but rather done something like what was done with the "Worthy Opponent" badge - add a new badge for a new (or reinstated) difficulty level. I understand that the original "Master of" badges were obtained without incarnate powers and that this is a reversion to those times. But I think this may be the first or at least one of the few times that badge requirements were made more difficult and not easier. This issue wasn't commented on much or at all during testing, because most people were looking at the new content and new power sets and not on changes to existing badges. So please consider these critiques as if they were made during testing.

I'm sorry, but I can't help it. This is where my brain went when I read through: Tell me why Ain't nothin' but a heartache Tell me why Ain't nothin' but a mistake Tell me why I never wanna hear you say I want it that way I think Ukase is the bad boy non-conformist wearing a hat.

I wish they had kept the requirements for "Master of" badges the same but added a "Grandmaster of" series of badges with no incarnates added on as a difficulty factor.

I like what Rebirth did with Ice Melee here.

What place has that stuff? Or is it verboten to say? EDIT: Never mind. It's in the thread title. I see it now. -

This thread needs more whimsy! -
There is only one place where one Incarnate Cimeroran Traitor currently spawns in the game, and that is Imperious in the last mission of a Sister Solaris arc. The few that have the Legatus badge deserve it for having killed that one critter 100 times. Future content will have missions filled with Incarnate Cimeroran Traitors. Your choice is to run Sister's final mission 100 times, wait until the new content, or some combination thereof. Personally, I ran it once just to have the counter set as a reminder and will get the rest when the next update comes . . . unless I get REALLY bored.

To be frank, I don't think you have a good handle on what's bad, good, or great. If you are quitting characters in their 30s and haven't invested in them chances are that they will be somewhere between bad and good, regardless of AT and powersets. Any AT, any powerset, and I'd go so far as to say any combination of powersets, can be great with the right build and playstyle. I'm not talking about intentionally gimping yourself by playing something like a petless mastermind or otherwise purposely making questionable power and slotting choices. And I'm also not saying that all ATs and all powersets all play the same and can do it all and be great from level 1. But I can tell you with confidence because I have done it: any AT, any combination of powersets, can solo most content at +1/x8 or higher by level 50. By any reasonable standard that can't be bad. And by my standards that is great.
