In real life, assault rifles have hundreds of meters of effective range. My AR Blaster's maximum sniping range is 150 yards. That's barely 130 meters! Also, to add insult to injury, that guy misses pretty often!

What I am trying to say is blasters should avoid jumping into the fray. Blasters are good at killing targets from a distance since most of their primaries are ranged attacks. Some secondary powers allow you to play a blaster like a scrapper but don't do that for all blasters. Otherwise, this might happen. To fight a boss, get in range, then start blasting. Try to maintain distance as best as you could. Unless the difficulty level is set too high, that boss will die relatively fast. My hunch is that you always play a tank, so you approach a mob like a tank, although you are playing a blaster at that time. Don't worry. Blaster's strategy is not hard to memorize. How about jumping sideways? I use jumping to add distance between an aggroed mob and my character. Get in range, open fire, then jump sideways. Wait for them to come, open fire, then jump again. Still, blasters are most effective when they are attacking, not jumping around. In my opinion, you should try Hover. Also, a non-slotted blaster can withstand multiple melee attacks (3 or 4) from a boss before succumbing. Maybe you have set your difficulty level too high, or your build is inadequate for your current difficulty level. Either way, you need to rely more on kiting rather than a head-on attack.

Sometimes watching a very rare bad luck could be amusing. It shouldn't happen, but somehow it happened anyway.

Could this happens due to pure bad luck? Aside from this incident, has it ever happened to you before (knocked three times a row)? I play blaster, but it haven't occured to me. At least as far as I could remember.

The story is simple and straight to the point. Skim the text and get the whole picture. After all, it's "beat up a mad scientist"! What else do we need? I also noticed that this AE has a souvenir. Not everyone cares or has enough time to write a souvenir. I applaud you for that. Custom enemies (bosses & AV) may pose challenges, but a few inspirations can minimize them. May I suggest setting the max level to 25-30? Make it as low as possible since the doctor has poisoned the main character. At most, set to 45 to strip those Incarnates from their power. Thank you for writing this AE. I wish I could see more AE's like this.

Yes. Praetorian ambushes can kill you at -1. I think you are more vulnerable at low level, due to small insp inventory and lack of available enhancement slot. I tried to aggro multiple mobs as an unslotted blaster once. I think they become deadly after 3 mobs. Edit My assumption is that below -1 the challenge would be non existent, so the devs didnt expand. Also, the exp and inf reward will be miniscule.

I wonder, do you guys read the wiki before jumping into the mission? Let's say, checking for the ambushes, memorizing the objectives or checking if one of the missions in the story arc is "that one level"?

Lightning Clap from Electrical Melee does not allow Scrapper AT Sets and Universal Damage, despite said power deals PbAoE damage. Pop up menu shows that this power allows Scrapper AT set, knockback and stuns, But I can not slot Critical Strike into Lightning Clap Same happens when I try to slot Universal Damage.

Oh, yes. Those spirits are nasty. I am not going to spoil too much, but be careful with Sheldon's story arcs. Her story's bosses love to throw a curveball or two. I think Magic Mike has three ambushes.

I believe the OP is asking about the story of Praetoria. In my opinion, the story comes from texts and story arcs that reside within the game. Other sources would be notes and documents from previous developers (Cryptic and Paragon Studios). On the other hand, this information is hard to find. The story arcs are available in the wiki, but others are not. For example, as @TwoDee pointed out, not many of us would feverishly click on citizens to get their stories out. So, I guess a bit of headcanon growing from the primary source is okay. My definition of "a bit" is sketchy, though. Yes, I feel that this thread deviates from its initial purpose. Also, I am confused about whether to react negatively to these headcanons or just let them write anything. After all, a story is a story, and I still want another gold side story.

I create a bio to describe my characters. I need to elaborate on their motivation since all of them are everymen. One of them is a naïve engineer who barely able to fight. Another one is a martial artist who loathes vigilantism. On the other side, a police officer is upholding a fascist regime, despite the horror she has witnessed. Who are they, and why they keep doing what they do? I also believe that writing a bio takes effort and time. I assume your characters are unique, so they must have different backstories. My hunch is that you don't have enough time or capacity to write all those 40+ stories. I wonder if that number (40+) would double soon?

That's a great idea. Slot Steadfast Protection: Resistance/Defense and Gladiator's Armor: Teleportation Protection to Time Lord and Force of Nature for additional 2 x 3% Def. Thanks. edit 21/07/03 I can fight ambushes now! Maybe! I wish I could also utilize those slots in Maneuver and that Hasten. edit 21/07/04 Put a Single Origin in Hasten. Now Hasten needs 130 seconds to recharge. Not bad.

Just for fun, I add a few purples into my build. I select all enhancement sets that increase Recharge Time. Then, I randomly put them into any available power. I prioritize enhancement sets with large bonuses, though. There are more than 100 sets, but I only need to consider a fraction of them, thanks to the rule of five. The result is a glass cannon with minimum recharge time but no defense whatsoever: Assign To Slot Recharge Apocalypse Single Shot 5 10 Kinetic Crash Charged Shot 6 7.5 Positron's Blast Cutting Beam 5 6.25 Decimation Disintegrate 5 6.25 Absolute Amazement Lance Shot 5 10 Sting of the Manticore Penetrating Ray 5 7.5 Ragnarok Piercing Beam 5 10 Hecatomb Aging Touch 5 10 Basilisk's Gaze Time Stop 4 7.5 Armageddon End of Time 5 10 Preventive Medicine Temporal Healing 6 8.75 Glimpse of the Abyss Future Pain 5 6.25 Cloud Senses Time Shift 4 6.25 Reactive Defenses Force Field 6 8.75 Sudden Acceleration Repulsion Field 6 7.5 Kinetic Crash Repulsion Bomb 6 7.5 Sum 83 130 Hasten and Time Lord add 90%, so the final result is 130% + 90% = 220%. @Sovera's suggestion not to chase accuracy starts to make sense now. Most enhancement sets have an accuracy bonus, even more so for purple sets. Accidental bonuses from purple sets are pretty huge. Now, time to go to Brainstorm, see how well this thing goes. edit 2021/07/07 The build is usually fast enough to wipe out any incoming mob (+0 or +1) before they deal significant damage. It retains almost half of the bonuses at a low level, thanks to Purples. However, some mobs can be troublesome due to small defense. Once, a lucky pack of ghouls cut my HP down to 50% before dying. Fighting IDF soldiers without planning is not advisable.

This is my head canon for Praetoria. In a decade or so, they have successfully isolated Hamidon, similar to what the primals has done to their Hamidon. Keep in mind that those guys who elected to stay are made up from Resistance members, IDF and Powers Divisions. If mere citizens can survive under Marauder, imagine what those guys can do under a good leadership. Cole was right afterall. Divided we fall. In a couple of years, they would improve Metronome's digitization process and Neuron's cloning technology, making them nearly immortals. Once they has fixed their problem at home, they would probably turn their attention to the primal praetorians. For those who abandon their brothers to Devouring Earth and traitors who invited death to their doorstep, it's payback time.

What would you like to see in a Goldside rework?

My hunch is whatever makes the blue side attractive is not available in the red/gold side. Therefore most of player base go to blue. Assuming the future rework aims to lure more players, future contents may turn gold/red similar to blue, eg. Lower difficulty level, more farmable missions, etc. I wonder if the current gold/red side players will appreciate the change aside from giving more opportunity to team up. -
I recently created a build for low level missions (10-30). I ran a flashback mission to test my build. However, when I finished testing and my toon reverted back to level 50, her enhancement bonuses were still active. I thought enhancement bonuses for uncommon and rare have a limited range? All her bonuses were intact. Is this a bug or is there another rule in the Beta Server? Thanks.
