as i have stated many times I am generally clueless. BUT always willing to speak up 🙂 Panda may refer to WoW expansion, and the love/hate that can engender . (mostly hate that I have seen) It may be a specific reference to the generic Furry thing It may just be a word someone ignorant stumbled across and saw it triggers peeps so they spam it. (in my opinion as likely as any other possibility)

You are awesome! A true leader in the community. And I have never heard you insult Pandas! (current events...) Seriously though, I have gotten Triple Threat and Really Hard Way on your Leagues. Triple Threat is a pain even with top players all on Discord. It is a crapshoot at the last second due to game mechanics. Set it up perfect and its still in the hands of RNGeebus. Margot is top shelf. Well, I have a serious weakness for overconfident crazy people. And it does not hurt she is smoking.

Having suffered through WoW during PandaLand (which was when CoH did flight into terrain) I am no fan. But I honestly have noticed no pattern to it. Granted I am playing more WoW again so not here as much. Still....when i was playing every day a lot (up to a month ago)...not the case. And for the real life question, I take you to an expert:

I have only found Discord useful for hard content. Of course it can be fun to chat and run casual with friends. One guild I was with (now pretty much graveyard) used to run nightly content and weekly incarnate badge runs. Listening on Discord was required for hard stuff. For other uses, meh

Funny because the one memorable issue I had was on Everlasting, I was running a clueless Brute (hey, its me...) and the team leader got upset because I charged ahead and was loosely attached to the team. They actually followed my other characters like an angry bird for a couple days

Yeah. I was not there but I know Excelsior. It is welcoming and inclusive. Unless someone is ignorant and hateful. Then the crowd is vocal and unwelcoming, AND educated on how to get rid of pests

This has been, and always will be, a problem in any community. Years ago I played in WoW (after CoH intentionally flew itself into the terrain) and there was not just blatant racism but active pedos. Not kidding, people in open chat looking for minors. I reported so much of it. I have not experienced this on Excelsior, to any extent really. Maybe one or two political statements that were right off 4chan. But no racism, bigotry, or illegal sexual slime. Now, the last 4-5 weeks I have not been on much. Busy busy. Maybe the world rapidly evolved like the corpse I forgot to bury. Freaking petri dish that. Somehow I doubt it. Also, it is easy to be hyper sensitive to these issues. Or... mostly unaware. I am more unaware. Because I dont care. But if you are on the front lines of an issue any wrong word can seem like a "code word" or "targeted communication" when it might just be a blithely unaware person parroting something without thinking, or using a word the wrong way. Again, this is DIFFERENT than blatant bigotry and deviancy. I have a number of amusing anecdotes about such topics. Me completely unaware and ignorant hanging with various groups who are hyper aware and the miscommunications that can ensue. As long as nothing is INTENTIONALLY hurtful and everyone is open to be educated and treating each other with respect this is a GOOD thing. Broaden your horizons, elevate the discussion.

Yeah. 99.?? % of CoH badges were always character specific. With the exception of Vet badges and the Pocket D VIP badge. (i think that was a badge?) Annoying too... If I could clump them up I might get that 1500+ badge lol

If you look at my Dark Dark build I just bumped to top of Brute Threads there is an expensive but VERY effective character. it addresses End Magt, Accuracy, Tankiness, and does a great amount of damage. I tend to not run Bio, so no opinion But do realize FUN is the goal. Concept is everything. Nearly everything else is a red apple to green apple comparison. The skin color and flavor are different, so diff recipes (enemy groups) will seem different. But its a freaking apple. Play what your concept is.

I just find it more relaxing to build an unkillable murder ball that does nearly as much damage as a maxed dps build. To each their own

I would advise caution. Dark Dark can be unstable. My "refined" build above builds up the (necessary) energy consumption issues, resistance, recharge, and accuracy. Then it slathers on more tankiness with Rune of Protection. If you (in my opinion) start shattering invention set bonuses to add some cheez (a LOT of cheese, but still) you will find one or more of those NECESSARY elements to be gone. A Battleship will sink with a Hole in it. You are talking a LOT of cheese too....!
