Acrobatics offers mag 2 hold protection. How useful is that?
Snarky replied to EnjoyTheJourney's topic in General Discussion
It is great for anything that hits you Mag 2 or less! -
Sooooo Range in this game is a deep subject. Like...What is Ranged? (anything 8+ feet....) And how to build for it is not just an easy walk in the park, unless you just take a Sentinel or a Blaster. A Great up close fighter. I personally love Brutes. Heavy armor, great health, mezze protection, very good damage. Scrappers are also very good, Stalkers, once you learn the craft, excellent. Recent changes to Tanks make them a good choice as well. Getting true ranged attacks on any of these ATs will be tough. I have a friend who made an Elec/Shield AoE Stalker. Really good! I ran a Tank using Kinetic Melee. Danged thing fought mostly in the 10-20 range. Kinetic Melee is a clunky set without a lot of great stuff going for it besides the odd range though. I am unsure what you want to do for attacks. Weapon sets with Melee ATs tend to be very solid choices. Titan Weapons are very good, although momentum mechanic is not a choice that is popular right now. I think it suffers in end game. If you had not mentioned Trident... I will just throw out that Energy Melee is incredible right now. Energy Melee Invulnerability Brute would be a hoot to run 1-50. A platform for a very strong build 1-50 and at incarnate level. Super Strength, I ran for years. Great set. I too finally tired of Fury crash every two minutes. But danged. it is a good choice. Good Luck!

there are record keepers. I am not interested enough to know the details. We regularly squish these out on +0 8 person teams in the 11-14 min range racing each other. spped record is like 5-7 min. something crazy as a speed run you added all the extra time on the F-ing yourself out of debuffs by +4 and limiting insp/etc. x8 means nothing because nothing is a kill all. There are a certain number of objectives. period.

ELLO on excelsior is just two points that send you back and forth. artsy. time waste.

My new badger is only 19. (Exp off currently) So I logged in my farmer and ran ToT doors (in costume....dont forget) and sometimes it took 10 minutes. Once it was first door. Got all of them in a couple lazy hours drinking coffee

I cannot seem to find progress meters for Glimpsed the Abyss, Safety in Numbers, Evil's Resident nor Apocalypse survivor. Level 19 Brute. Any ideas/info/insults?

Where have i gone wrong? Did i tell you folks about kidnapping Paragon citizens fir live vivisection by the Vahzilok? A mission from Dmitri Krylov 10-14 in Cap au Diable…. There are many other opportunities to be a true villain. This mission just tends to really…. (Wait for it) …get under people’s skin!

I slotted my Elec/Temp Blaster for ranged defense and just ignored the secondary effects and any non ranged attacks. Not as much flat out effective as a fie fire Blaster but out damages Sentinels with better damage mitigation. All ranged attacks including Tier 9 nuke and softcapped ranged defense is hilarious. Many of the sets that give ranged defense also give global recharge and/or accuracy. Just sweetens everything up

Something Completely Pointless: Enhancements in the Real World
Snarky replied to RikOz's topic in General Discussion
it says it's an SO but that is part of a set and gives +recharge -
Ukase is not kidding. He will hand large sums out. I was in a Costume event with him and forgot I was on a zero inf Alt i had loaded to show costume. I went to tailor and.... So i asked if anyone could toss me a little inf. Ukase gave me 100 million. Unlike the person referenced in the above story I never paid him back 🙂

somehow i always end up fighting him...

I like the Atlas story Arc that has the Hero who does NOT do anything to stop the villains. Hellions I think? Hilarious and so accurate. In my opinion. I wish it was a 'snap' judgement. But it is an accumulation of long decades of watching people do mean and stupid sh....er stuff. Just because they are so self absorbed, WHILE thinking they are somehow the person in the right. At least I know I am a wretched soul. I did get the badge thanks. Another Raid, another 40. I explained the mechanics and we both finished off BOTH badges. I suspect it was another Redsider like me slumming it Blueside. All the cool kids are doing it these days.

The player did not have me on ignore (they might now). They answered me 5 minutes after the event. They told me they were there first and advised me not to take it personal. I told them since it had nothing to do with me I did not take it personal and told them they were the southern aperture of the digestive system (in one concise word).

Dark Melee feeds off high recharge, and sweetening the resists on armor is just too good.

So, I am slow levelling a character, badging as I go. Level 14, doing some Superadine raids. 1st one, solo, 37 Super trolls. Need 50. All Next day, 3 raids, people are 1) doing it wrong (killing the entire rave and not lettiong supers spawn) 2) not inviting to team. So I am watching a 50 just melt everything with me having no chance to badge and them ignoring requests in local and private tells for a team invite. See, Redsiders have always tended to work together. Sure, we are villains. But we are not stupid. um, except a few of the undead, a couple SS 'roid junkies, and the sociopath in the corner, while not stupid, does not play well with others. But aside from those exceptions Redsiders work together. Blue? Its a unflushed toilet bowl Blueside. Just not pretty

Before level 30 (except for a few globals like Panace etc) Single Origin Enhancers tend to be more powerful than sets.

Thank you Warpact. So. My 2 cents.... This Dark/Dark is what I run in everything up to and including all Incarnate content. The only places it struggles are during the Magisterium Trial and against Battle Maiden in TinPex. Both have unavoidable/unmitigatable damage patches that are huge. Dark Melee has longish animations. Other than that it is extremely tanky. Tankiness is achieved not through high defense. The old maxim holds true Def>Res>Heal. However on Dark/Dark you are invisible to mobs a short distance away. You can be killing 17 people and the unconnected 50 mobs twenty feet away ignore you while you eat their friends. You have to hit debuffs in almost everything. You have a Stun and a Fear aura that (on this build) will FU minions and Lts like a champ. You are not soft capped on Def. In my opinion chasing Def on Dark is silly. As soon as the debuff the defense you carefully built you are screwed. No Debuff Res. You have very very high resistances. (on this build) You have the BEST heal in the game up very fast. So, tanky. The build has a damage aura and Soul Drain is the best Build Up power in the game for melee, in my opinion. You have super solid ST damage and eat through minions with Aura at a fine clip. Not as much damage output as a Farmer, but very nice I assure you. This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.5.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! This is deep CoH history. Short answer: effectively NO. Although with Villain Alignment power and some other rare/odd circumstances it will be higher than 85 for a few seconds. Long answer. NO. But the reason is Brutes were regularly out damaging Scrappers on Live. To "Fix' this the Devs "effectively" capped the Fury at 85%. To throw Brutes a bone they also softened the Fury decay quite a bit. But over 85% the Decay is INSANE. This made Brute do less damage than Scrappers, although not by tons. I give no numbers or formulas. But that is the lore.
