My latest creation.  What started as an homage piece to DC Comic's Mad Hatter gradually went farther down the rabbit hole with a deliberately wacky and slightly-disturbed look.  Although I've had villains before, he's actually my first character of moral ambiguity.  I see him as occupying all four points on the moral compass merely due to whim. 

(Oh, and just in case: for any reader in a culture where the expression doesn't exist, "Lid" is slang for hat, but also for the mind.  "Flipped his lid" = "gone crazy".)

Those shoulder pads work nicely with that vest.  I don't know why I never thought of it before.

I was just combing through the thread looking for one of my old posts as reference material, and lingered when I realized I'd forgotten just how great everyone's costumes have been all along.  I don't really see it as 5 years along we've improved, but there's a reasonable consistency in good costumes right from the start.  I also discovered several costumes I'd somehow missed or overlooked, so several of you probably have surprise thumbs up responses from me for distant past postings.

 

We're closing in on 300 pages.  I'd urge everyone who enjoys this thread to set aside some time for review.  You may be surprised at what you find and what inspiration it may bring.  Be sure to like anything of interest to you regardless of its posting date.  I'm sure the creators will appreciate it.

The idea with Veritas Ex Machina was to put as many angular pieces on one costume as I could.

The idea with Johnny Rocketboots was to light him up like a Christmas Tree. Colours inspired by some other game - possibly Wildstar.

 

... and if it bothers you that Johnny Rocketboots uses a jetpack and not rocket boots, haha the joke's on you, I don't care!
