But what kind of zones don't we have that would be fun to add? I would love a forest zone with giant trees that actually had things in them, so the zone had multiple levels (but then I have superleap not superspeed). Oneirohero Posted November 7, 2019 Share Posted November 7, 2019 (edited) Island Resort zone, preferably with a genuinely sunny disposition instead of the gloomy 'ugh' that is the Rogue Isles. A part of the island for tourists and holidaymakers, another for those who live on the island, a part with natural wonders and unnatural dangers. Maybe a Volcano, maybe with other islands in the distance for that 'stranded on an island' sub-theme, no doubt with plenty of caves and instance doors of bad guys inside. Accessible via any place with a ferry/sub, entrance to the zone would begin at the Resort's port with cruise-ships and fishing boats docked. No war-walls but understandably there would be invisible walls if you fly too far out to the edges of the zone. Geographically this Island Resort could be located between Paragon and Rogue Isles as to give each locale fair distance from each other. Random heroes and villain NPCs to find as easter-eggs, maybe they have their own dialogue box where they explain they're on holiday and you should stop ruining theirs. A story arc that probably involves some kind of Island God awakening and trying to stop it from wrecking havoc on the world. Or for villains, trying to use this Island god's power for their own. Or for something completely different and novel, an arc that's dedicated to having your character's own holiday, that ends turning up to be more work than the brochure advertised. Shows with floats, indoor skiing, a golf course, giant ferris wheel, Replicas of the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty, Roller coasters on top of skyscrapers. Marine X Posted November 7, 2019 Share Posted November 7, 2019 (edited) I like The Island Resort concept, The Undersea would be cool and everyone has been asking for the long ago in development hell Moonbase, the Asian Culture Zone could also be a long needed stronghold for the Tsoo, they just don't really have a home like say the Council on Striga, Skulls and Hellions in Perez and Trolls and Outcasts in the Hollows. I wish they would do something with some of the existing virtually unused zones first though. If you changed out the spawns, in say Boomtown, from Council and low level Clockwork to something higher and more Intimidating, say level 54 knives of Artemis and Cot, spin up a new repeatable story arc for the zone and there you go. Since most of the CoT content is in caves it would be interesting to Use some of the newer cave maps and interject elements of CoT Architecture into them to get a new Map feel. We are going to start getting Top Heavy with level 50+ Players with nothing new to do. I'm really thinking about starting to put together a story arc along those lines and see how fresh I can make it feel, I know AE has limits so it requires a good story and some creativity to carry it. And, naturally, make it crawling with dinosaurs. The lizard folk would be superstitious and mystical, using that inherent power to control the dinosaurs and enslave the human populace. There are rumors that somewhere deep on the island is a Well that is purported to grant those who drink from it strange abilities. This, of course, has gotten the attention of some unscrupulous individuals who wish to claim that power for themselves. Could also work with dinosaurs and cave men. I was under the impression that the Cthulu Mythos was all public domain now, certainly the books are all out of copyright. To edit Lovecraft's Mythos stuff is all public domain AFAIK, more recent stuff might not be, but be fair the City of Heroes IP isn't owned by the current operators of the game.
