What I'm really interested in knowing is whether the Build Up proc would only apply to yourself, or would it also affect/buff the individual pets hit by Empowering Circuit in the chain too.

It only impacted me. Monitored pets for the buff for 15 minutes with Empower on auto and didn’t get anything on them. Had that been the case I’d have definitely made a slot room for it.

Leveling a Ninja/EA right now.. just about to ding 26. I did it pretty much the old fashioned way.. some DFB to get started, mixed in with soloing arcs, and joining an occasional task force.  Rejuvenating Circuit and Faraday Cage are working far better than I expected. I don't have any  numbers to back it up, but the combo feels about as sturdy as my old Ninja/Dark .  The heal is slotted with lvl 25 IO's (2 rech, 2 heal, 2 end discount).  For now this working great for generic leveling purposes. Faraday Cage has three lvl 25 damage IO's slotted, and it's easily spammable.

The resist and status protection from Farday cage is really good for MM's. Pet's don't get bounced around by knockback, and seem to adequately resist damage. I would imagine tankier pets (Demons, Bots, Thugs, and Necro) would really thrive with Faraday cage cast on them. The only thing that's really been a pain are fire patches (Council, Longbow, and Scrapyarders).  Spam healing can keep the pets on their feet, but it's easier for the squishy Ninjas to become overwhelmed.

All-in-all,  my subjective opinon is that EA works reasonably well with Ninjas and I'm guessing it would also pair well with Mercs. However, the better combinations are still going to be with the top performing pet classes. My guess is that Robots/EA , Demons/EA, and Thugs/EA are probably going to quickly be recognized as top-shelf MM builds. But then again, those primaries are excellent with just about every secondary.

Here's where I am @Plainguy with your build.

Made a few changes, lost a little S/L DEF, picked up better resists and recharge.  Kept Defib but frankly I am hardly ever using it, so may just drop that in favor of Super Speed and 2-slot it with some Zephyr's.  Very good +RECHARGE post Incarnate selections of Agility and Ageless.  I was disappointed to see the +60% RECHARGE from EA didn't last more than a few seconds for me.

But for now, pre-Incarnate, I'm happy with this.  Wish I could work in the pet uniques a bit better, however.

Silly question, with the button on (GREEN)  on protector bot defenses jump to 54%.  No clue where this number is coming from. Because it goes form 44% to 54%..  Which is 10 points.

When I use pet powers and turn on Protector bot bubble I get the correct 7.5% defense increase..  Which is 51.7% as I sort of expected..  So where is 2.5% coming from  ?

But beyond that much better build with a few simple IO changes..

How I would build a bots/ea

More pet uniques, more recharge, more exemp friendly. I don't think power boost is a game changer for /EA as it is with others like /time and I'd rather have a spammable mass immob with -fly that's also a great purple mule in its place.

The only thing I lament is the lack of slow resist. It's a big deal for squishies and I normally would build for 65%+ with winter sets.

I did as well and still no EA.

On EA, they need to make Galvanic Sentinel not go away unless it's killed. Too often it goes away and stupid to keep casting, though it is def worth keeping out. Just like FFgen, and even Dark Servant, they should not die on their own.

There are too many clicks in this set too. They should make maybe empowering circuit a pbaoe proc aura toggle.

There isn't much point also in the values declining. They should stay the same for every target hit.

But beyond that much better build with a few simple IO changes..

That’s the Prot-bot bubbles giving you the +DEF.

EDIT: Apologies, Plainguy, I didn't properly read your question.

Yeah, I see in-game 7.5% from their shields, not 10%.  If you hover over the power and then click on the "Info" tab to the left of it in Mids, you'll see that it's being calculated by the builder as 10% defense.  That's wrong.  Or a stealth nerf somewhere along the way.

EDIT2: So now you got me going down internet time-traveling rabbit holes.

At close of Live, it was 7.5% per bubble.  And based on my old screenshots, the Protector bots would double-bubble all other bots, but not double bubble themselves, only giving each other a single bubble.  I've no memory of them ever double-bubbling ME,

However, if you look in-game at the Force Shield icon and click it, it will say Force Shield provides 7% (NOT 7.5%) +DEF bonus.

image.png.19c4f5806128f304a9cee964be32cfbb.png

Now if you look at your own combat stats for DEF, you'll see that the bubble from them is giving you 7.5% bonus.  I stripped out all my enhancements to figure out if something was wonky in the game mechanics, but that's how it always shows.  Somehow, from somewhere, in game it's getting an extra .5% DEF value.  Don't know if this just a rounding display thing or what.  I'm not Incarnate yet so no native passive bonuses that I know about.  No temp powers, etc.

But I do know from looking at other non-enhanceable powers (like Assault from Leadership) I see roughly the same thing.  The buff icon says 11% bonus, but Combat stats will show 11.25%.  So maybe it's just a display thing.

image.png.7fb8b28017637a8c7a1f549602c1dec9.png

For any of your bots double-bubbled, they are getting +15% value from the same.

image.png.160cb66f0cfcb24e2c66cfdb913950ac.png

And our Prot-bots are only getting 7.5% from one-bubbling each other.

image.png.6427eb875c2b0e9cd0d768c53e60b6a5.png

So while I think that right off the bat MIDS has a wrong value, I'm not entirely sure the game itself is calculating things properly.

Is it supposed to look like this? This seems wrong

Yes, the color scheme was changed due to color blindness being a problem with the Hero Blue vs Villain Red.

The zn and zc stuff are placeholders to avoid having datasets break when importing Old Into New data structures to account for new stuff added in Issue 26 Page 5.

Really nice build, and I'm starting to agree with you about /EA not needing Power Boost as much as /Time, which is what I'm far more familiar with from my Bots/Time builds.

It's a little challenging to get hands on that many Hami-O's however since you can't convert them.  I do Hami raids often but just don't seem to have good luck with drops.

You DEFINITELY don't need to use that many HOs. The value they add to the build is COMPLETELY unnecessary. Especially since most are only adding a tiny fraction of end reduction that doesn't matter with energizing circuit.

Also for things like the aoe immobilize, you want the acc/rech, not the straight immobilize. Purples cap out their stat + rech values by boosting just two pieces and you get more acc and rech that way.

Also for rejuvenating and insulating circuit, panacea? Really? For literally like 40 mill cheaper you can get doctored wounds for just a 2.5% rech loss, or use one more slot and get preventative medicine for an extra 1.25%  recharge for much less money too. And I get they did Numina for the ranged defense but there are better ways.

And empowering circuit at 41??? The more I look at this build the more I see how utter crap it is.

I'm going to try to get the new mids update today and will make a proper build.

Not sure I understand what you mean?  Please educate me?

With the purple sets, if you use that only immobilize for example, you'll get about 101% immobilize on the power, if you skip that, and get the acc/rech, you get more acc/rech which is very important as the sets kinda low already, and you can boost the acc/rech, and immob/end, and even the acc/imm/rech, to still get about 98% immobilize which is only about a second difference, but much more acc/rech stats on the power.

I avoided the immob/rech piece to get better chance on the hold proc, all the acc IOs are slotted.

Also agreed on the hami-Os, you don't need to + them but if you can afford to then go nuts.

Except here where it's really a waste of money and a waste of HAMIs where someone else may need it better and you're pointlessly taking it from them for no reason, really.

I get that for more hold proc chances, but that's pretty minimal on the build, and I would value the higher acc with the acc/rech, especially for how mobs like to wander when drained of endurance.

Wow such hostility in your post about my build. I build my toons to have maximum survival capabilities by the time they are 30 hence the power picks. Empowering is not a make or break power as faraday cage is so yeah, I took it late, also the res too, guess that make me a bad player...

Panacea instead of doctored wounds or prev medicine because

Also no one said anything about budget builds so it wasn't in my scope of the build. If someone asked for a budget build I will happily provide one.

Hello fellow Overlords!

I just wanted to start a discussion for the new powerset, specifically as it applies to us Masterminds. So we can brainstorm togeather and possibly numbercrunch some things and come up with some playstyles/theories on how to use it! Please if anyone here was involved with the Beta testing feel free to give the rest of us any insight or advice!

First for convience heres a copy/paste from the notes -

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Support Powerset: Electrical Affinity

You are able to control and manipulate electricity to aid your allies and weaken your enemies. Some Electrical Affinity powers build Static, which increases the number of targets your Circuit powers can chain to.

  • The set has been built around chaining powers and a stacking / combo system that's similar to those found in many of the more modern melee and ranged damage sets, with a focus on wide variety of buffs for the whole team as well as damage and endurance debuffs for your enemies.
  • Electrical Affinity also introduces and makes use of a brand new mechanic which allows powers to dynamically change the number of targets they can hit - in this case, the four Circuit powers hit more targets for every stack of Static that you currently have.
  • Electrical Affinity is available for Defenders, Corruptors, Controllers and Masterminds.
  • Electrical Affinity has both a Hero (blue) and Villain (red) default theme available for all ATs, along with the light and dark customisation themes.

Powers

  • ShockTherapy_Shock.png.47ac6e7922aa47a49b8a4f9b0a01c904.png T1: Shock (Ranged, Foe -DMG, -End, -Recovery, -Regen)
    • Strike a single foe with a highly-charged electrical shock, draining some endurance and moderately reducing their recovery, regeneration and damage output. Recharge: Slow
  • ShockTherapy_RejuvenatingCircuit.png.9d37e1718186c520d2153b9a61fdfe38.png T2: Rejuvenating Circuit (Ranged (Chain), Ally Heal, Self +Static)
    • Create a circuit of healing energy between several nearby allies, healing them for a small amount. Every stack of Static you have will cause this power to chain to additional allies. The first few targets in the chain receive a more potent effect. Rejuvenating Circuit grants 1 stack of Static. Recharge: Moderate
  • ShockTherapy_GalvanicSentinel.png.b58b41d878755ee68754ec83933028a7.png T3 (Defenders, Controllers and Corruptors): Galvanic Sentinel (Summon Galvanic Sentinel: Ranged Debuff Special)
    • Summons a Galvanic Sentinel to your aid. The Galvanic Sentinel shocks and weakens your foes, draining some endurance and reducing their regeneration, recovery, and damage output. The Galvanic Sentinel can be buffed and healed, and may be targeted with your Circuit powers. Recharge: Slow
  • ShockTherapy_EnergySink.png.fa738ffe201d15a1ff2049e3d40dea86.png T3 (Masterminds): Discharge (Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe -Dmg, -End, -Recovery, -Regen)
    • Unleash a blast of electrical energy around your target, draining them and all nearby enemies of some endurance. This will also reduce their regeneration, recovery, and damage dealt for a short period of time. Recharge: Slow
  • ShockTherapy_EnergizingCircuit.png.8a9a5dc9b610aae36727dab25de5034b.png T4: Energizing Circuit (Ranged (Chain), Ally +End, +Recharge, Self +Static)
    • Create a circuit of pure energy between several nearby allies, restoring a small amount of their endurance and significantly increasing their attack rate for a short time. Every stack of Static you have will cause this power to chain to additional allies. The first few targets in the chain receive a more potent effect. Energizing Circuit grants 1 stack of Static. Recharge: Slow
  • 23345712_index(1).png.1b4c0554c35eefaf23422283a20502cc.png T5: Faraday Cage (Location (PBAoE), Team +Res(All DMG but Toxic, Status, Knockback, -Rech, -Rec, -End))
    • Create a large energy barrier at your location which provides all allies within resistance to all damage except Toxic. They are also protected from status effects, knockbacks, endurance drain, recovery debuffs and recharge debuffs. Casting this power again will move the energy barrier to your location. Standing inside your own Faraday Cage will grant you a stack of Static every 5 seconds. Recharge: Moderate
  • ShockTherapy_EmpoweringCircuit.png.1fea10aa19ad95294de2f3546ddb6384.png T6: Empowering Circuit: (Ranged (Chain), Ally +DMG, +Tohit, Self +Static)
    • Create a circuit of empowering energy between several nearby allies, increasing their damage output and chance to hit for a short time. Every stack of Static you have will cause this power to chain to additional allies. The first few targets in the chain receive a more potent effect. Empowering Circuit grants 1 stack of Static. Recharge: Slow
  • ShockTherapy_Defibrillate.png.4240c0c29aaf0058ef648d0c6d0a5ed4.png T7: Defibrillate (Melee (Targeted AoE), Ally Rez, Foe Sleep, -End, -Recovery)
    • Strike a target with a highly-charged jolt of electricity, reviving all nearby allies and draining all nearby foes. Any enemies affected will be drained of some endurance, have their recovery reduced and be put to sleep for a short time. Defibrillate consumes all stacks of Static, and the strength of the offensive component of this power scales with the number of stacks consumed. Allies will always be revived with full health and endurance regardless of the number of Static stacks consumed. Recharge: Long
  • index.png.f5fb8575eb7ab70f373c9a5d7f5f6319.png T8: Insulating Circuit (Ranged (Chain), Ally +Absorb, Self +Static)
    • Create a circuit of protective energy between several nearby allies, granting them a small protective shield. Every stack of Static you have will cause this power to chain to additional allies. The first few targets in the chain receive a more potent effect. Insulating Circuit grants 1 stack of Static. Recharge: Slow
  • ShockTherapy_AmpUp.png.9996c312ee1471de094ef91f460cef0e.png T9: Amp Up (Ranged, Ally +Special, +Recharge)
    • Empower an ally with raw energy, causing all of their abilities to unleash chained bolts of electricity at nearby foes. These bolts drain a small amount of endurance and have a chance to knock up the target. Amp Up also moderately increases their attack rate and greatly boosts the secondary effects of their powers. Their power effects like heals, defense debuffs, endurance drains, disorients, holds, immobilizes and more, are all improved. Recharge: Very Long
  • ShockTherapy_Static.png Static (Circuit Boost)
    • Every stack of Static you have increases the number of targets your Circuit powers can chain to by 3.

edited for length

Late to the party, again. It is my understanding in game that some of the Circuits do NOT stack. Word of mouth is that empowering and insulating circuits do not stack. Are there other abilities that do not stack? Do they not stack period or just not stack from the same caster? Thank  you for any replies.

Except you're giving bad advice that is going to cost them a lot more and take IO/Hami's out of the market that can better be used for other builds.

And High end doesn't mean much with energizing circuit. They shouldn't be having any problems, hence in the following miracle instead of panacea in health.

And empowering is crucial, at least/especially if you team because it's one of the only buffs the set has to actually help with acc/damage which is what most people are going to expect if you ever team with them.

Tactics is also very useful on MMs, and uses the gaussians better because the to hit bonus drops off from empowering circuit (which you also didn't take till 41...)

Here is a much better, and cheaper build that will be much more value on teams, and also addresses the knockback issue that the bots have which you did not address. I seem passionate because i simply don't want people to follow bad advice and spend more money for a less effective build.

Well that's your opinion. I read it and I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I'm not going to bash you for it.

If it's any consolation a savvy reader can absolutely switch some power pick orders around with my build, you can have empowering before level 30 by swapping out photon grenade, problem solved. Why make a big fuss about it when all you need to do is share your build and explain the rationale?

Well that's your opinion. I read it and I don't necessarily agree with all of it, but I'm not going to bash you for it.

If it's any consolation a savvy reader can absolutely switch some power pick orders around with my build, you can have empowering before level 30 by swapping out photon grenade, problem solved. Why make a big fuss about it when all you need to do is share your build and explain the rationale?

Sorry I just get overly passionate and playing from beginning and even making builds for years when the game was gone has given me a lot of insight.

It also bugs me having hard to get/expensive ios wasted on a build taking away from the community and making the prices go higher when they're not needed.

Defibrillate or Amp Up if you could only have one in the build?

Amp Up is only partially effective for Henchmen since the +Recharge is wasted.  But Defib seems pretty iffy also.

BTW although Amp Up appears to share some of the traits of Power Boost in boosting secondary effects I have tested it on Protector Bots and it has no effect on strength of their shields.  Unsure of other secondary effects of bots.

Thoughts?

This is what I came up with.

Resistance wise between the IO pet unique's ( 35% ) and faraday cage (17.72% ) its about 53%.. Pets have some inherit resistance buffs which put them with another 23 in Lethal, cold and energy.

So depending on the damage they are sitting anywhere between 53 to 76 in resistance.

Defense wise between the protector bot buff with LOTG+ recharge IO.  Not having real numbers I will say it gives it another .5 to the buff so 7.5 from pet plus LOTG IO is 8..   Maneuvers is 4.  Pet IO is 10.

one AOE defense IO at 15.

So pet defense is about 20% and 35 for AOE.

These are rough numbers and could be higher as I am under estimating it all.

If you switch over to demons just it would be much higher resistance numbers across the board.

I think Power boost plays a good part in this and many of these powers benefit from it.
