Scrapper over Brute I’m thinking just because we all know Luke was a Scrapper at heart.

So Katana obviously, with the Event Horizon blade (tinted Blue obviously).

But for secondary?

Im thinking either Ninja, SR or maybe Willpower?

And I’ll need some Force power....I’m thinking maybe Energy Torrent from Body Mastery perhaps?  If I wanted to go down the dark path Mu ball lighting and Mu bolts would be perfect but I’m not succumbing to the Dark Side so not for me.  Maybe another alt after this one.....

Thoughts on power sets?  I’m usually a min max player but this will be themed totally for fun, although I’d really like to have a totally not-gimped build.

I have a Jedi/Sith toon that uses Electricity and Katana with Force Epic. It's a Blapper... not very enjoyable to play beyond giggles.

Well perhaps Grav/Psi, but there’s no blade and that just seems so wrong to me.

Nope, has to be a Scrapper.

Oh what, you saying your Jedi is too good to use Force Lightning?

Anywho, I was reminded of a Katana/SR build I did back on Retail for a Bleach Anime theme "Captain" character who ended up feeling more Jedi looking half the time with the transparent energy blade. For options on what best "feels" like a Jedi though, Ninjitsu calls out better with Blinding Powder (hand wave of confusion), the "mental fortitude/spirituality" nature of its abilities, and Kuji-in Rin giving Psionic resistance (no mind tricks here!). I would have to say that a Jedi-themed character should also take advantage of Force of Will, a KB in Project Will, and a sweeping cone in Wall of Force, plus Unleash Potential gives the build a nice Incarnate-level-booster for defense that comes on a good timer. Also threw targeting drone in there for some nostalgic thematic kick.

I was very up in the air about the last power pick that ended up getting Tactics left in its place. Assault would be a nice overall boost, Build Up of course would be great for the burst damage but that ability feels very "angry ragey" in nature which doesn't flow well. I ended up leaving Tactics so the build could flip back and forth between the kitsch novelty Targeting Drone (has some decent debuff resistances too) over a team-supporting (Jedi Lead!) Tactics (plus it's cheaper to run).

This might actually be one of the first Katana builds that has my interest in how it'll play.

Well, the plan that's forming up is...

Levels 1-50.....Blue blade, just like the original Anakin blade was blue.  The first lightsaber Luke held/weilded was his fathers' (Anakin's) and that was a blue blade.

50+....Green Blade, because after his duel where he lost his hand and his fathers' lightsaber.....he constructs a new one.  A Green bladed one.  His training was complete.

Now I COULD be presumptuous and go all Sam Jackson/Mace WIndu and make it a purple blade because *reasons*.

I'm totally on board with you on /Ninja.  Plus I played this on my DB/Nin and the whole time I was playing I was like "this feels like a Jedi powerset."  Which is where this idea came from to try it again but with a Katana.

And I keep forgetting about the whole Force of Will powerset!  @Frostweaver brought it up to me recently when discussing a DP build, and I've got it planned for that build but haven't gotten to that level just yet.  This is basically the entire Jedi Force powers set in one pool.  Even Force Jump!  Oh man......perfect!

And you are an absolute genius for Targeting Drone!  I never would have even thought about that.  Very thematic and a nice throwback.  Could even come up with an alternative costume for it that has the whole top half of head covered with the mask.  PERFECT!

Thank you very much for the build!

On a side note, now I'm having the urge to make Travis Touchdown.  Not sure how I'd make a Katana scrapper with pro wrestler moves, though.

Someone keeps showing up on Excelsior with wrestling homage characters.  I’ve seen Hulk Hogan, Randy Macho Man Savage, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Capt Lou Albano and even Andre the Giant.  They are all level 1 and usually just stand under Atlas Statue and flex but....pretty accurate costumes and some fun macros.  Roddy sometimes even runs a “Vipers Pit” segment and interviews one of the others.

I’ve also seen a very good Dante homage playing a DP/Ninja blaster.  Too bad we don’t have backpacks showing a sword strapped to back like with the quivers though.

Funny thing some enemies have cool backpacks, masks and other costumes, the Tsoo "minions" have ninja blades on their back

A different take than the one that has been given, I created a more Mace Windu type of Jedi, able to use the whole force, did a DB/Elec scrapper that came out very well. Purple Sabres and lightning.

Just a note of thanks for all the great ideas on this thread.

@Sir MyshkinI ended up using the build you posted.  I did change up a couple of things.  I fit Build Up in there as I see it as a “Channeling the Force” kind of thing.  And a Jedi has lighting fast reflexes so I worked Hasten in also.  Kept Tactics but dropped Weapons Mastery entirely.  I picked up the drone prestige pet at level 1 from the P2W vendor and renamed it “Training Droid” and created a secondary costume with a helmet and “blast shield” blocking my vision.  The Jetboard fly power also makes a fun little stand in for Luke’s X34 Landspeeder.  With a couple of minor slotting changes I ended up exactly where I wanted to be.

I considered swapping out Blinding Powder for Divine Avalanche as DA could behave a little like my light saber deflection capability.  And it’s a nice +Def to overcap me for Incarnate or AV battles.  But I’m going to roll with Powder for now and see how it behaves.  Can always respec later if I find it doesn’t augment the theme or play style.

Hit 39 last night.  Absolutely a blast to play, not gimped at all.

You could also do a KAT/WILL brute  or tank take MU epic and play a VADER CLONE.

IF only the had a glowie type staff,..a MAUL toon would be wikedly cool.

Actually, started building out my "dark side" Sith today.  A Katana/Elec/Mu.  Will also fit in Force of Will pool.
