Trying to make a speedster. Suggestions?

It's gotta be a DM/SR brute, right? Like, debuffing accuracy and buffing def through the roof to simulate being a zoomboi? Shadow Maul, Flurry, Sands of Mu for the three piece arm flailing masterpiece? My only problem with that is that Dark Melee has like, a solid 3 melee moves then the rest is dark magic, so the OTHER bits of the moveset are going to likely just be donated generously from the Fighting pool? Not the flashiest (pun only kinda intended) speedy melee character. 

 

Anyone done a speedster? What'd you do? How long did you stick with them, if you ever dropped them to begin with.

I’m not quite sure I understand the question, but Kinetic Melee might be quite fun as a speedster type character, or a dual pistol sentinel with super speed always on! (Good excuse to take more of the Speed pool too!)

I went scrapper. It was my first 50 on live. ( before brutes existed) I absolutely felt like a Speedster. I had Teleport, Super Speed and Concealment as well to duplicate other aspects of being faster than fast.

Maybe try an Ice Dominator.  Shiver with just a smidge of enhancement will slow everything to a crawl, Arctic Air will have them moving to evade, then you come in from the secondary at normal speed and it will SEEM like super speed.

I wouldn't pair DM with SR on a mechanical level, since the -to-hit from DM rapidly becomes overkill with SR.  I understand the appeal for getting another flurry-style attack on an aesthetic level, though.

 

What about Electric Melee/SR for a Flash-style speedster?  Bad side: a lot of the electric melee attacks (esp. Thunderstrike) animate slowly.  Upside:  Maybe you could imagine that it was a slow-mo camera effect?  And Lightning Rod is one of few "charge attacks" in the game.  More attacks than DM that look like punching and not dark magic.  Arguably better synergy with SR.  You can of course still use flurry, spin, and sands of mu.

Savage Melee?  Its cone attack is similar to flurry, it has one of the other charge attacks, and its single-target attacks animate pretty fast.

I took a page from Synapse; I have a Speedster themed Elec/Martial Blaster.  Burst of Speed is a good way to simulate zipping around the battlefield and lightning tends to be thematically a fast attack (even if Electric Blast itself isn't).  Throw in Super Speed/Speed of Sound and the Streak path aura and you've got discout Flash/Synapse.

The to hit debuffing might not have benefits, but Siphon Soul is very nice. With that in mind, Radiation would be a good combo with Super Reflexes too.

 

You can say you're moving fast enough to ionize the air.

Elec/MC blaster, because Reaction Time, Burst of Speed, etc from MC and Elec gets you those Flash vibes (also, you can get a lot of +7.5% speed bonuses for in-combat speed)... Also, try picking up the new Run Proc, adds a touch of in-combat speed...

     Anything /SR, Quickness +Speed pool.  Perhaps Electric Melee Lightning Rod plus Teleport and Speed pools.  The SR passives can easily take GotA pair (def, def/+run spd) and a LotG def/increased rchg.  Quickness plus Winter's Gift rchg resist go a long way to laughing at run spd and recharge debuffs.
