Is there a Brute Tier List similar to Croax's Stalker Tier List?

Seconded. Yet another set that just shines when backed by plenty of recharge.

I at least played this set on a Scrapper, but I tapped out in the 20s. There's simply too much waiting for attacks. Agreed it is one of the sets you need to get to at least 32 and dump recharge into it, but sitting and waiting for attacks isn't really something I want in a build using Fury. So, for a Brute it is lower for me.

1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute.  10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller.

Also, one could really group sets based on types, ie blooms early/late, and list them that way versus tiers. EM might be amazing, but that's waiting for level 32+.

Scrappers do it better but their ATOs are actually useful.

This is one issue.

AE 801 (link) is a variety of missions for fun and challenge, and is designed for a team of 5+ Incarnates.  Just search '801' in AE.

     801 Difficulty Varies: 801.0 Easy, ..., 801.2 Standard*, ..., 801.5 Moderate**, ..., 801.6 Hard***, ..., 801.7 Four Star****, ... 801.F Death.

I may be AFK IRL, But CoH is my Forever Home.

Imagine getting an IO that instead of 100% regen and 10% endurance discount (once at full stacks!) it did 0.5% extra damage per point of Fury. Or whatever, I am not a balance dev.

Would have made more sense for the current +fury IO to raise the fury ceiling past 100 rather than just adding more fury and still capping. As it stands, it's barely a buff at all most of the time.

And since brutes share damres caps with tanks, the other one should have been a proper buff to mitigation rather than the weak sauce it is now.

I don't feel that way. My Rad feels decidedly squishier and much clickier than my Electric or my Dark.

I know quite a few people whose opinion I value a lot really, really like Radiation Armor, but I concur.  It just feels squishy and much more clicky compared to Electric Armor.  Electric Armor can take more of a beating without having to resort to heals and/or green inspirations.  I am sure at least part of that is me and my bias towards Electric Armor, but it’s true.

This post has been bouncing in my head and I hope someday you give it a retry on beta fully tricked out at 50.

There's something deeply satisfying about having 4 attacks in my tray.

On my mace/bio scrapper, ST chain is Clobber, Jawbreaker, Shatter, repeat.

AoE chain is Jawbreaker, Shatter, Crowd Control, repeat.

Sure, they're slower chains to get through but they hit like trucks.

Edit: And just to be sure I wasn't addled again, went and beat up a pylon. 1:45 with assault core enabled.

And thirding here. I had been willing to put it down to having less experience building characters when I tried it on a brute after having successfully managed a tanker with it (and still am strongly inclined to give it another go just to make sure). By contrast Electric has never disappointed me, even when I knew far less about building characters.

Electric is nice. It has a little extra resistance than Rad but that is easily mitigated with IO's. Rad has better healing and Rads T9 is actually useful.

I made a Rad Brute to closely rival my Rad Tanker in survival but my ElecA brute never came close. ElecA is easier to build.

I guess it is build, playstyle and preference though.

It is funny how the Resistance sets don't have any +max health built in. It seems only the defence and hybrid sets get it.

I keep looking for something to pair with Shield on a Tank. I have a definite look I want to pull off, but I played around with it, and there simply aren't options to color certain shields in the way I would like, so I might just have to rethink the look. It would be nice to have an armor with +recharge, but that limits things.

What is this Tank talk in the Brute forum? 😛

So what's the look?

Very Netflix's Arcane inspired. There's a tech shield were you can't tint the transparent part of it. Outside of the pure energy shield, the best looks are all very grey.

Vanguard Projector Mark I? It had a separate section that deals with the field with one color being the inner radius and the other the outer radius.

That out of the way, I can't seem to be able to change the color of the light in the Carnival mace options.

The only problem lays in the damage which is just not so good. As someone who really likes old kung fu movies and the staff I really like the set, but then what? Spin spin spin, fragile minions die, then there's just a boss and spin spin spins spin spin spin spin, finally dead.

This.  Have a 50 Staff/Electric.  It's fun, but it's damage output is as low as any Melee character I've played.  Survivable as all heck if you can get Mobs clumped up for the KD though.

Staff is a fun set to play, but don't play it if you're looking for numbers or fast clear times.

Same; even my EM/Fire seems to need less time spent keeping it upright than my EM/Rad, and those things are getting pretty much the exact same set bonuses across the board.  That said, could be a matter of "the best defense is a good offense" or something along those lines, and I'm just taking less incoming on that EM/Fire.

Anything you can have, we have it.  Even got a devil in the attic.

I have been wanting to make an Invulnerability melee character and had narrowed down choice of primary to Staff or Claws. Guess it is going to be Claws with the above report in mind.

I need to get back to my Savage/rad Brute as using Ice with Rad Armor feels like a cheat code on my Tank. I'll have to check what diff settings they are going on. The Tank is 7 levels higher(22 vs. 29).
