Yes, I just got it all +5'd today and it's a beast, still working on my incarnates though. You've spoiled me, not sure I can play another class now.

I finally got around to rolling some new characters but I only play them a few times a week in comparison I play Murcielago every day. It's hard to beat this combo.

I just got to 50 with my dark/SD but I'm using attuned IOs for the most part. I did +5 all the commons and that helps. I might make he's second build with all +5.

Yes everything has either been set with +5's or had a catalyst put on it. Soft capped defenses, hard capped smashing and lethal resistances with perma hasten and enough endurance to last for days. Absolutely love this set up and build, it destroys anything in its path. With ageless I can have perma soul drain. Without ageless I am a second or two away. This build has basically ruined playing anything else for me because it has not performed to the same levels.

So this is a build I am trying to figure out. I want to see how the new foot stomp performs and adding more AoE to the build. It's in it's initial phase but I thought I'd put it out there and get anyone's ideas for any improvements. The only attachment is perma-hasten and as close to perma-soul drain other that, fire sale everything.

I've split my build up into two builds, one for exemplaring and the other for incarnate level content. That way I can make less sacrifices at the top end. It's nice because this game has made having two builds way more affordable than Live did. For the cost of one build I can almost have three now.

Right, but that is the part of the beauty of this game. We can play absolute god-tier characters and then switch to pleeb level characters just for fun.

Thanks!

So your AoE is basically Shield Charge and the Incarnate ability? Does that feel enough, or are you mostly just going target by target to blow stuff up?

Posted (edited)

DM's single target attacks, IME, are strong enough that you'll mow down single targets in 1-2 attacks almost every time. Shield charge, Soul Drain and Judgements are more than enough AoEs to supplement and serve as an entry attack chain.

My DM/Regen farms maps at +4/x8 and has no trouble moving at a decent pace.

DM/Shield isn't what I'd consider an AoE powerhouse. It does average AoE damage with ridiculous ST damage. I have a Spines/Dark Brute for my AoE damage character.

Correct, with fully saturated SD and AAO I can regularly single shot +2 minions with MG and sometimes SL.

If you are interested in AoE, I would also suggest checking out Electric/Shield. I have a maxed out Scrapper and he is an AoE monster!

With a Crit I can routinely one shot level 54 Lts with soul drain saturated.

I already have a shield character and electric's single target performance is worse than dark's AoE.

I agree...ST dmg on that toon is bad, but the AoE output is just fantastic!

My typical AOE attack chain is Melt Armor (Every other mob), Soul Drain, Fireball, SC, Dark Consumption and the only mobs left +4 are a couple bosses and maybe a lucky minion/lieut. I don't have void judgement yet but I expect it to make it even sweeter. Not great sustained AOE dps, but for mob hopping through a mission its about as fast as anything I've played.

Below is the build I'm running. Great single target, great burst AOE, softcapped with mostly capped DDR, a heal, no endurance issues and permahasten. The gaussians proc in soul drain is magic. I've fallen back in love with /shield once i discovered DDR could be mostly capped through Destiny.

Jumped on the TW/Bio scrapper bandwagon for a bit but recently returned to my original love with a new build. Working pretty well so far. Only using maneuvers if solo to softcap. In groups there's usually one person close enough that Phalanx does the job. Though I will admit, I have completely forgotten to turn it on several occasions solo and never really felt it.

The three defense IOs in CJ, Phalanx, and Grant Cover are all +5. The two recharge in Hasten are not since it's perma anyway. Soul Drain perma with Ageless, which I also forget to use. The 1.5 second delay doesn't seem to matter much. The two hami's in Dark Consumption are only there cause I literally had nothing in it for a while and they were sitting in my enhancement tab anyway.

Summon Widow was only taken originally as a set mule, but she actually does pretty well when she survives. She usually does ok +4/x8, but in Incarnate trials she tends to just get murdered pretty quick.

Haven't actually caught up on what builds everyone else in this thread is running, so if anyone has any ideas, or suggestions let me know.

This is what I would probably change.

Hi all. This topic inspired me to roll a DM/SD Scrapper, and it's been a blast to play. I'm lvl 47 at the moment and not slowing down. The main thing I want to do with this toon is solo TFs/AVs/whatever I can really. I don't have a ton of Incarnate experience so I did not include that on this build, but I'm pretty happy with what this got me:

- 48% Melee Def, 44.9% Ranged/AoE. This is without Manuevers on. I can turn Manuevers on as needed to give me ~ 51/47/47 Melee, Ranged, AoE respectively.

- Solid ~ 50% S/L resist.

- Soul Drain, Shield Charge, Fireball gives me decent AoE for a DM toon.

- 152.5% recharge.

As a reminder, this is all before Incarnates. I'd appreciate any build advice for me as well as any tips on soloing TFs or AVs besides using Envenomed Dagger.

This is my all time favorite scrapper build and I wanted to share mine!

This build has soft-cap defense to all positions BEFORE Incarnates, perma-hasten with only one application of Force Feedback +recharge, Soul Drain is more or less perma with a few applications of Force Feedback. AoE is actually pretty respectable with Fireball, Shield Charge and Pyro/Void Judgement. Having a fully slotted Char comes in handy more often than I ever thought it would (LGTF anyone?) but also was a great place to get some amazing defense bonuses. Let me know what you think!

This is personal preference but I would slot the Steadfast Def IO earlier on in your build so if you exemplar you're not going to lose its defense. I would also use the slots in OWtS elsewhere as I don't use it that often but ymmv.
